Story
MEET REBEL- Rebel came to us after being in a house fire with his family who promptly surrendered him to the rescue. We don’t have much information about this tiny guy since the owners just didn’t respond to any of our texts once surrendered. He has been through a lot, he is a grumpy lil fella. He had gotten considerably better and lets us hold him. He loves his meal times but don’t interrupt him while he is eating or the gremlin comes out. He seems fine with other dogs, indifferent to cats and fairly independent. He will come to me after hanging out outside on an enclosed porch for a while. Rebel is a dog that will need a patient parent that can give him the time he needs to recover from his abandonment. We’re not sure of his age. We were told he was 4 years but we believe he’s a young senior. Rebel is looking for a forever home where he can enjoy his life without fear of abandonment. Story
Sweetheart Poppy is a 6 year old, 12 lb Papillon mix who somehow ended up as a stray at the shelter. Despite that, she is a very happy, cheerful, and young at heart little girl. Poppy does well with other dogs and loves being close to her people. She will happily “pop” up when she wants to be picked up and cuddled. In the evenings, she enjoys relaxing on her own chair or curling up in bed with her person. She is house trained with a dog door, quiet in the home, and an easy companion. Poppy does not chew and is not destructive. The only time she gets vocal is during playful wrestling with her dog friends. Poppy is still working on her leash skills and will benefit from some gentle practice, but her sweet nature and loving personality make her a delight. If you are looking for a small, affectionate companion with a joyful spirit, Poppy may be the perfect addition to your home.
