This sweet 7-8 year old Pekingese mix was rescued from a shelter and is now enjoying his very own system upgrade. While he may be a mature model, Reboot proves that older dogs still have plenty of love, personality, and happy adventures left to give.   Daily Operating System   Reboot starts his mornings between 7 and 8 a.m. with a trip to the backyard to take care of business, followed by breakfast. During the day, he either hangs out with his foster at the salon or relaxes at home, depending on the schedule. Dinner is served around 7 p.m., and he enjoys a nice walk around 6 p.m. to stretch his legs and check out the neighborhood. At bedtime, Reboot happily settles into his crate and sleeps through the night.   From Nervous New Arrival to Loyal Sidekick   When Reboot first arrived, he was understandably anxious and unsure of his new surroundings. While he's still happiest staying close to his person, he's grown significantly more confident with time. These days, he follows his foster from room to room, comes when called, gets excited the moment he spots his leash, and has even discovered the joy of play.   At first, cuddles weren't really his thing. Now, he's happy to accept affection, kisses, and snuggles from the person he trusts most. He can still be cautious around strangers and prefers to take introductions at his own pace, but once you're in his circle, you're there for life.   The Perfect Activity Level   Reboot strikes a wonderful balance between active and relaxed. He's not a marathon runner, but he's definitely not a couch potato either. He enjoys walks, likes being involved in whatever his person is doing, and will happily trot alongside you as you move around the house or yard. His favorite game isn't fetch—it's simply being part of the action.   Walking Buddy Extraordinaire   Reboot absolutely loves his daily walks. When he first arrived, he pulled on leash quite a bit, but he's improved tremendously and now walks much more politely. He doesn't chase squirrels or bark at other dogs. Instead, he's simply curious and alert when he sees other animals out and about.   Family-Friendly Companion   One of Reboot's most lovable qualities is how gentle he is with children. He does wonderfully with his foster's three- and four-year-old nieces and nephews, patiently allowing them to interact with him while staying calm and sweet. He may not be the type to engage in endless games of chase, but he's happy to be their gentle little shadow.   Why You'll Love Reboot   Reboot is the kind of dog who quietly works his way into your heart. He isn't flashy or demanding. Instead, he's loyal, affectionate, gentle with kids, and happiest simply being near the people he loves. His foster's favorite thing about him might be the adorable way his entire body seems to lift off the ground whenever he barks—it's impossible not to laugh.   If you're looking for a sweet companion who has successfully rebooted his life and is ready for a forever home, Reboot is ready to install himself right into your heart.June 9, 2026, 2:51 pm
