Story
Lexie is a 5 month old, 8 lb Pekingese puppy who came from a situation with many other dogs, so she can be a little shy when meeting new people. She may take a few minutes to warm up, but once she trusts you, her sweet personality really shines! Lexie is gentle, playful, and quiet so far. She loves to snuggle and is definitely a little Velcro dog who wants to be close to her humans. Her soft, silky fur makes her especially irresistible! Lexie is still a puppy and is working on feeling comfortable when left alone, as she has shown some separation anxiety. She would do best with a family who can be patient with her as she builds confidence and learns that her people will always come back. Once she bonds with you, Lexie will be your sweetest little shadow and a wonderful companion. To adopt her, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $500, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, and deworming.

Story
Laverne is a 9 month old, 9.6 lb Pekingese who is a little shy and reserved at first, but she warms up quickly once she has some time to feel comfortable. She is still building her confidence, and we love seeing her become a little braver every day! Laverne loves playing with other dogs and enjoys her toys and chewing on bones. When playtime is over, she is happiest curled up on the couch with her people. Once she trusts you, her sweet and cuddly side really shines. Laverne would love a patient family who will give her the time and encouragement she needs to continue coming out of her shell. She would do best in a home with another dog. To adopt her, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $450, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, and deworming.

Story
Marcie is a 5–6 month old, 7 lb Pekingese mix puppy who is a sweet, playful little girl. She can be a little shy when she first meets you, but she warms up quickly and then is ready to show you her fun, loving personality. Marcie loves playing with other dogs, especially chasing and being chased! She is also quite the little foodie and enjoys trying new things. She loves chewing on a baby carrot or enjoying a peanut butter-filled Kong. She is doing very well with her house training and knows how to use a potty pad. She does great in a puppy pen and can make it through the night without needing a potty break. And when she's not busy playing or enjoying a snack, Marcie loves nothing more than cuddling and being cuddled. She is a sweet little girl who would make a wonderful companion! To adopt her, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $500, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, and deworming.

Oreo is wonderful and I wish I could keep him.❤️ I travel for a living and the person that agreed to help with him has defaulted on our agreement. I bought him from a well known breeder in North Atlanta. My last resort is the Humane Society so I hope a kind loving person(s) will adopt him. He deserves the best in life and will grow up with some lucky individual. He's joyful, playful but does like to get his rest as well. He's partially house trained but as with any puppy, he needs to go out every few hours. He loves to cuddle. All of his toys, playpen, water bowl, and carriers come with him. Please consider him to love.

Story
Meet Beverly! Beverly is a 4 year old, 8 lb Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix (we think) with a big personality in a tiny package! Once she picks her person, she’s fiercely loyal and wants nothing more than to be by their side, snuggling on the couch or keeping them company. Beverly is quite the chatterbox and isn’t shy about voicing her opinions! A home without shared walls would be best, and her adopter should be prepared to help her learn when it’s appropriate to speak up. She prefers relaxing with her person over long walks or big adventures, though she’s starting to show interest in toys. She also tends to stay close when outside. Beverly bonds closely with her person and can be protective around other dogs and occasionally people. She may do best as the only dog, where she can soak up all the love and attention, but if you're patient with her, she can live with other dogs. She’ll also need patience and consistency as she continues working on house training. If you’re looking for a devoted little shadow with a big voice and an even bigger heart, Beverly may be your girl! To adopt her, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $400, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.

Story
My dog is 12 years old will be 13 in November. She is a sweetheart and loves to get some rubs. She doesnt bark or make any noise for that matter since Ive had her. I have had her for 11 years and over the years unfortunately she went blind. She doesn’t go on walks because she doesn’t like leashes, I let her walk around by herself in my yard. She needs more attention now that she is getting older and takes a little longer with going to the bathroom. She is potty trained and sleeps in bed with me but I just dont have time to watch her as much as needed anymore.

These pups are in Kennesaw, Georgia too!

Story
A SHY GIRL WHO'S BLOSSOMING: Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 14 lbs. Hi, I'm Virginia! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a new home. I was adopted for a couple of weeks, but it wasn't a good fit, so I'm back with Mostly Mutts looking for my new family. I hope to meet them very soon and start living a great life together!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met dogs at Mostly Mutts and have made a great friend or two that are around my age and size, and we just love playing together in the MM play yard. I however didn't like the energy of a puppy, so if you have a friendly playful dog at home perhaps around my age and size, let's meet! / Cats unknown. / Best no kids. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The shelter is a lot for me to take in but I'm doing my best! I like it when the volunteers take things slowly with me and let me get to know them—then I'm just a love. I really enjoy my trainer and like spending time with her—she's a good leader. Speaking of a good leader, that's what I would like. Please don't treat me like a baby and carry me around as I love being a dog and want to be part of the whole family! I showed guarding behaviors of my person in the home of my temporary adoptive family while being carried. My trainer has worked with me on this, so just ask about that please and they will be very happy to share successful strategies for managing guarding behavior. I think I would be happiest in a calm and low traffic home without a lot of visitors. / Energy level: 3-5 at the shelter, but I think it will increase once I'm settled in my new home.     • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer! Check back soon to see what I've learned and let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I'm doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts and slept well in it at my former home in their bedroom at night. They said that it seemed to be my decompression place—so I liked it. / I'm working on my potty manners, so I'll need my family to help me finish this training up.    • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love belly rubs and gentle head scratches! I also really enjoy when people talk gently and give me a little extra time to get to know them. Once I'm comfortable with you, I love following my people around and being close by. I'm sure we'll discover lots more things we like doing together in our new home! / Being rushed scares me, so just give me some time, and like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I needed a dental cleaning and thankfully, Mostly Mutts has done that for me.   I'm a little sweetie looking for a wonderful family that will help me continue to blossom! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.  October 17, 2026, 11:00 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
A ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ CUTIE PIE:  Approx. 8 years old / Approx. 15 lbs.   Hello - I’m Neo! I was found on some railroad tracks by a good Good Samaritan.  After completing my stray hold through animal control, I spent a couple of weeks with them, during which I was treated for pneumonia.  Wanting me to have the loving home I deserve, they helped me make my way to Mostly Mutts, where I’ve continued receiving great care.  My medical needs have been addressed, and while I’m still a special needs pup, I’m doing much better.  I will need ongoing medication and care, but I’m so happy that I’m ready to find a loving home of my very own! (See below for medical details.)     • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I get along great with the pack of pups in my current foster home – from the Chihuahua to the Shepherd mix – we are good buddies!  If you have a nice doggy at home, let’s meet! / Though I initially gave chase to the kitties in my foster home, I’ve learned not to do that and am now pretty calm around them.  All cats are different, so I’m not sure how I would be with other kitties. / I would do best with older children.  Smaller children that may spook me could risk a nip.  So, let’s meet if you have older children. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet guy with a friendly and gentle nature.  A happy little guy who loves to be with my people, I will also take time to sprawl out on the floor and look out the windows.  I can sometimes be a little vocal when I am happy and then I like to roll around on the floor and be silly – what fun!  Sometimes I’m up for snuggling in a lap, while other times I prefer just being near you on the floor.  I’m a delightful and happy little guy.  / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  In my foster home, I’ve learned what ‘harness’ means when this is put on or taken off (I should only use a harness for walks and not have a collar attached to a leash due to my trachea challenges. In my foster home, I ‘come’ when called, and ‘go out’ when we go outside.  I formerly knew the ‘sit’ and ‘leave it’ commands, though I haven’t practiced those in a little while.  Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so let’s continue my training together. / I’m not crated in my foster home. / My potty habits are a work in progress.  I do pretty well on a schedule and have improved at going while on a leash.  So, please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can continue to improve. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love my walks and have a fun little prance in my step.  Toys are fun, and I enjoy shaking them playfully or carrying them around.  I’m more energetic outside and love to play outside with my people – but shouldn’t do much outside time when it’s very hot and humid due to my health challenges. / I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have severe collapsing trachea (so I do cough a good bit) as well as an enlarged heart.  I’m on a few prescription medications for these conditions that I’ll need to stay on for life.  Please ask about this so the folks at Mostly Mutts can fill you in on everything.  You may notice from my pictures that I have some tartar and yellowing of my teeth, but I cannot have a dental cleaning due to my trachea and heart challenges, but there are over the counter things you can try with me for dental health – once your vet approves them of course.  Ask about me to learn all the things I’ve overcome as I continue to be a wonderful companion.  I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful furever family that will love me and continue to meet my needs!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  October 17, 2026, 11:00 pm
