He was recently surrendered to rescue and seems to be a very well mannered and calm dog looking for a quiet and relaxing lifestyle. He has not shown any aggression towards the other dogs or people he's met. He can be nervous initially when meeting someone but should settle in fine with normal decompression.  Max will need to be kept on a consistent grooming schedule- with that said he is very picky about his face being groomed. His regular groomer just moves slower and is patient with him.  Max would probably do better in a child free home but we are not against adopting to a family that fits his needs.  If interested in setting up a Meet And Greet, please fill out our adoption application:  https://www.screvenspayandneuter.com/adoptabledogs You will be contacted by adoption coordinator if they have questions or you are approved to adopt.  _______________________________________________***If you choose to adopt (before all vetting is complete) and use your own vet rather than our local Snip Clinic for these services, you do so at your own expense and it will not reduce the adoption fee. Adoption fees are NON NEGOTIABLE. 1.) All dogs are adopted to the best possible match and calling or emailing the rescue will not speed up the process or liken your chances of being chosen. 2.) You will be notified by adoption coordinator if your application is approved. Adoptions are set up by appointment only. We do not have “hours” of operation. 3.) If the dog is posted as Available on Petfinder, it is available but may have pending applications and meet and greets set up. 4.) If you are not ready to immediately meet the dog you are applying for, please do not apply- we are too busy for window shoppers! Every dog is available to be taken home with you at the time of the meet and greet. 5.) We recommend you bring a carrier with you to transport the dog home as some can get carsick. Meet Sid, who came to us with his sister Charmet. They are an adorable brother-sister duo who were found wandering in Pickens County! These young Pekingese mixes are both under a year old, with Charmet weighing in at just 7.8 lbs and Sid at 9 lbs. They’ve handled their much-needed grooming like troopers, and we can’t wait to see their sweet personalities blossom even more. Sid and Charmet need full vet care before heading to their forever homes.
