Application form (copy and paste on your browser) https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEYA/Dog Breed: Pekingese Chihuahua Mix (Long Hair) DOB: 6/25/2024 Weight: 12.8 lbs Neutered: Yes Good with: Respectful Older Children Backstory: Entered rescue after his owner passed away Some dogs lose a home. Tayoh lost his whole world. One day, the person he loved was there. The next, everything changed. New faces. New places. New routines. For a little dog with a big heart, that is a lot to carry. Tayoh is a young long-haired Pekingese Chihuahua mix who is still trying to understand where he belongs. He came into our care after his owner passed away, and while he is safe in foster care, you can tell this sweet boy is still searching for the familiar comfort he once knew. Despite his heartbreak, Tayoh is beginning to show us little glimpses of the happy dog he wants to be. He gets excited for walks and loves stopping to sniff every interesting smell along the way. He is treat-motivated, loves to play, and enjoys learning that good things can still happen. Because of all the recent changes in his life, Tayoh can be cautious in new situations. He does best with slow, gentle movements and will need a family that understands trust is earned, not rushed. We do not recommend grabbing or forcing interactions. Instead, Tayoh thrives when he is given patience, kindness, and the opportunity to come to you on his own terms. Due to the unpredictable nature of young children, we are seeking a home with older, respectful children only. As a long-haired breed mix, Tayoh will also need a family committed to regular grooming to keep his beautiful coat healthy and comfortable. We believe he would do best with a breed-savvy family that understands the sensitive nature often seen in companion breeds and is willing to help him continue building confidence. What Tayoh is really searching for isn't fancy toys or a perfect yard. He's searching for someone willing to help heal a heart that is still grieving. Someone who understands that love doesn't erase loss, but it can help a dog believe in happiness again. If you have room in your home and heart for a little survivor who just wants to feel safe again, Tayoh may be waiting for you. OUR LOCATION & TRANSPORT POLICY: Fur Ever Yours Animal Rescue is based in Okanogan County (Eastern Washington), where our dedicated first-line foster homes are located and where veterinary care is most accessible. Because we cross-list our dogs in multiple regions to help them find the perfect match, you may see this dog listed in several cities. For Small Dogs (Under 20 lbs): Once an adoption application is fully approved, we provide volunteer-based transport to designated meeting spots in Ellensburg, Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, or Brewster for Western/Central WA families. For Eastern WA, Montana, or Idaho Families: We host pre-arranged adoption meet-and-greets in Reardan or Spokane Valley. Please Note: We do not transport dogs sight-unseen without an approved application and processed adoption fee. ADOPTION FEES & MISSION: Our adoption fees do not purchase an individual pet; rather, they act as a direct donation that funds our entire rescue ecosystem. Because we pull medical cases, seniors, and neglected animals from under-resourced rural areas, your adoption fee is pooled directly into our medical fund. This directly supports the rehabilitation, dental surgeries, and specialized care of every single dog currently resting under our roof. Ready to make our rescue dog a permanent part of your family? Story
Ralphie is one of those dogs who makes you wonder how anyone could not fall completely in love with him. He is incredibly sweet, calm, and loving, and his favorite place is simply right next to his people. Ralphie has some mobility challenges with his back legs, but he is getting stronger every week! Most of the time he scoots around using his front legs, and with encouragement he is walking more and more. He doesn’t act like he’s in pain and is always happy to be part of the action. He is great with other dogs and absolutely wonderful with children. He has a gentle “big brother” personality with his foster siblings and does well with his foster's young child.. He’s also food motivated and takes his medications and supplements like a champ. Ralphie will need a home with minimal slippery flooring, plenty of rugs for traction, and ideally few or no stairs. He may need help with potty breaks and can have occasional accidents, so his forever family will need to be willing to give him a little extra care. He may need a little more help than the average dog, but Ralphie gives so much love in return. He’s a gentle, happy boy who just wants to be near his people—and he is absolutely worth it. -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.
