Story
Meet Mama Kelly Mama Kelly’s story is one that stays with you. She came to us from Folsom Prison, where she wasn’t just another cat—she was an inmate favorite, a source of comfort, calm, and unconditional love in a very hard place. The people there loved her deeply. While there, Mama Kelly became pregnant and later gave birth to three precious babies, caring for them with the quiet devotion only a true mama can give. Now that her babies are grown, it’s finally her turn. Mama Kelly may be a Persian mix, with a soft, gentle presence and the sweetest circle marking on her face—like a little reminder of how special she is. She is spayed, vaccinated, and currently with our friends at Friends of Felines, waiting patiently for a home of her own. She has been around kids, other cats, and dogs, and she takes everything in stride with grace and kindness. Mama Kelly is truly just… love. The inmates loved her so much that they wished she could come back. Letting her go was not easy—but they understood something important: Mama Kelly deserves more. She deserves a warm couch, gentle hands, and a family who will love her forever. Mama Kelly has given comfort, raised babies, and touched so many hearts. Now she’s ready to give her heart to you. 🐾💖

Story
Muffin is a young adult female DMH tabby in search of a new home. She is extremely food-motivated, particularly by wet food, and has the sweetest meow. Muffin can be shy at first and take some time to acclimate, but once she feels safe she is extremely cuddly and will make muffins on you (hence the name) when it is time to rest. She is an indoor-only cat. While she currently lives with two toddlers, she is very fearful of their rambunctious and loud nature. She currently lives with two large dogs and another cat, and has lived successfully with both. Muffin would do best in a quiet, slow-pace home where she can be spoiled and given the attention she deserves.      Apply to adopt here! Online cat application form  Applications are also available on the website  (www.yolospca.org)    It can take up  to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application.   The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. Story
Estimated Birthday 05-01-2024 May not do well with.... KidsDogs Physical Description Beautiful long haired kitty with a calico cap and a few spots on her mostly white body with a bushy calico tail. Personality Lola is a sweet but shy girl, she will play with toys independently but prefers to move about only when she feels very safe. She has excellent house manners and is food motivated to climb a cat tree when her foster is present but will need a quiet and calm home in which to adjust. She's lived with several other foster kittens amongst two foster homes and has gotten along with everyone she's met. She would benefit from a quiet environment with a few humans that are okay with her continuing to be shy and will be patient as she adjusts. It is unlikely she will ever be a lap cat but she's shown herself to be very food motivated and playful around other cats and kittens.  We feel Lola would also make an excellent barn cat / mouser with the right home that will help her adjust to a new environment so she knows where her food and home are.  This kitty has what sort of characteristics?
