Story
Meet Nala – A Regal Beauty with a Heart Full of LoveNala is a precious, fluffy girl with a gentle spirit and a sweet, soulful personality. With her stunning amber eyes, luxurious silver-streaked coat, and bottle-brush tail, she likely has strong Persian roots. Once she feels secure, Nala blossoms into an affectionate, loving companion who craves human connection and soaks up attention Nala will need time to acclimate but once she does, she is a natural door greeter and adores being around people. She thrives in an environment where she gets plenty of love and quality time. Her foster mom says she’d make the perfect office assistant—quiet, observant, and always ready to supervise your workday or curl up in your lap for snuggles. She brings calm energy into any room and is happiest when she can share it with her people. She will comfort you with her deep rumbling purr. Her beautiful coat is growing in fuller each day thanks to a healthy diet and loving care. Regular grooming is needed to maintain her thick fur, but she’s otherwise not a high maintenance kitty.Nala’s journey began in Cairo, Egypt, where she was abandoned but found just in time by a devoted rescuer. With lots of TLC, she regained her health, received full veterinary care, and earned her ticket to a better life in Northern Virginia. She’s now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and faithfully uses her litter box.Estimated to be around 1.4 years old, Nala would love to be the center of attention as your one and only feline, though she might coexist peacefully with another mellow, non-dominant cat and a very gradual introduction. Now fostered in Burke, VA, Nala is ready to find her forever home. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, affectionate companion who brings both elegance and warmth, Nala may just be the perfect match. Don’t miss the opportunity to give this special girl the loving home she deserves—and in return, you’ll gain a truly wonderful best friend

Story
Manny is a stunning medium to long hair male cat rescued off the mean streets. He is safe now. Manny has the most fluffy ruff that surrounds his face. Could be some Maine coon in him. Part Persian. Not sure. Manny has never met a human or cat he does not like. He craves attention. Can be a bit needy at first. Boy, can he play. He needs a large space with a lot of activity. He was in a small apartment for a month and the family realized he has to be able to run around and explore. Extremely active. Manny needs stimulation so another active cat is paramount. He will do great with kids and probably a dog. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Jermeen is a gorgeous young all black fluffy kitten rescued from the mean streets. We love having her. She is so stinking cute!! Jermeen came to us with a sore on her back we needed to treat and clear up. Not sure if a burn. She had a very sore reddened mouth so she had a dental and 9 teeth pulled. This is probably due to poor health as a kitten without good care. She is so loving and sweet. Plays hard with other foster friends. We would like to see Jermeen in a loving home with another cat to play with. She has long fur so experience mantaining long hair is preferred. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Hi, I'm Puff! I traveled all the way from Kuwait to Washington, DC in search of the loving home I deserve—and now I'm ready to find my forever family. I'm as sweet as they come and incredibly easy to care for. I love everyone, including dogs and other cats, and I'm happy to just do my own thing while soaking up the love. I'm truly the definition of a good girl. I do have mild asthma, so I'll need a family that's willing to give me my inexpensive oral medication three times to help keep me healthy and happy. It's a small part of my routine, and I'm so worth it! If you're interested in adopting me, please reach out to us! I'll be posted on our website soon, but we'd love to hear from you in the meantime. PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2656198##

Story
Meet Agate! (Pronounced ah-gah-tay.) Agate is  handsome, long-haired tabby. Agate came to us 2 years ago after he and his brother were found in a Culpeper backyard at just 4 months old. They were very close but sadly, his brother passed away and Agate really struggled for a while without him.Agate is. VERY  friendly and charming. He is that socially awkward shy and handsome guy that doesn’t know how handsome he is. At dinner time, he head butts and rubs up against his foster mom in an effort to get as much wet food as he can. During the rest of the day, Agate tends to be more skittish and may startle if approached too quickly. It's hard to say what happened to this poor baby in his past to make him so shy. He appears to be more comfortable around men than women, but, as mentioned earlier, does well with his foster mom.Agate gets along well with other cats and has buddies that are both fosters and permanent cats at his foster home, whom he loves to play and snuggle. He would be most comfortable in a quiet, low to medium level energy home. He will need a patient human or family who understands that he is shy and will  give him the time he needs to acclimate. He will need another cat or two who he can snuggle with and be buddy up with in his new home. He would love to have living space where he can have some hiding places and taller areas to survey the world from. Agate is dewormed, up to date on his FVCRP and Rabies vaccines, neutered, combo tested negative, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Please think of giving this sweet boy a warm and loving home. You won't regret it. GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420.Interested? Story
Meet Twinkle and Pixie! These two siblings originally came to us years ago as the only two kitten siblings of a litter that survived euthanasia at a high kill shelter. They were adopted, but have been returned to us due to no fault of their own.Twinkle is a 4 year old, beautiful, long haired, white and gray male. Heis a very loving snuggle boy who loves to eat and be pet almost as much as he loves chasing a wand toy. He flies through the air like a kitten half his size and never wants to stop playing even after he is tuckered out. He is very talkative and loves to be in the middle of everything. He gets along well with other cats and dogs but prefers most of the attention on himself.Pixie is a 4 year old white and gray Agean tabby. She is a sweet, shy girl who loves to be with you and be loved. Pixie was a little skittish in her former home, her adopter felt it was because it was "a little chaotic" due to a lot of pets in the home. Even as a kitten, Pixie was very shy. and Twinkle was her rock. Pixie is playful and snuggly at times and loves to lounge around all day, gazing out the window. She is a quiet cat who enjoys the calm and safety of a smaller area and a small, quiet group of people. We are hoping to get her into a quiet home where she will blossom again.Twinkle and Pixie are bonded and will need to be adopted together. Adopt 1, get 1 free. Twinkle and Pixie are neutered/spayed, up to date on rabies and FVRCP vaccines, combo tested negative and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. You won't need to pay to reregister every year, we've taken care of it for you. Story
Meet Mila and Milo, 2 precious kittens that will keep you laughing. These babies are approximately 6-8 weeks old (as of June 20) and came to us from a local shelter that was over-capacity, placing either their lives or other cats' lives in jeopardy.Mila is a little girl - a brown tabby kitten that will remind you of Daniel Tiger from Mister Roger's Neighborhood. She was born with underdeveloped eyes, so she has very limited, if any sight, but the vet thinks there’s a good chance she has some sight in her right eye. Before you start feeling sorry for this girl let us just tell you, she is fearless! After a couple weeks in foster care, she is happy, healthy and so very playful. She loves to explore wherever she is, and she is a climber! She climbs anything she can in order to explore her world. She loves playing with her brother (from another mother) Milo and does love cuddling with people. She’s a fabulous “under the chin“ cuddler. As fate would have it, Milo came into that very same shelter the same day and the two are absolutely positutely bonded. Milo is a happy-go-lucky kitten with a big purr-sonality. He seems to always have that look of surprise and truly finds everything in life exciting. He is Mila's eyes and her protector. The two play together, sleep together, groom each other, and snuggle together.  Milo is very playful, but is also a A+ snuggler, too! Both kittens have been exposed to cat-friendly children 6 years old and up and do very well with them. Because Mila needs a little extra consideration, we would suggest a low to moderate activity household with children no younger than 6 years of age. (Each case to be considered individually.) Both kittens are/will be dewormed, recieve 2 distemper vaccines, a rabies vaccine, be spayed/neutered, combo tested, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. They are able to be pre-adopted now, and will be able to go to their new home in early July.
