Story
Sandy is a gorgeous white Persian long haired lady with blue eyes. Those blue eyes will melt one’s heart. Her life before coming to us was not great at all. Not loved or wanted after she grew out of kitten hood. We think she is under 2 years. Sandy is so sweet and delicate. Loves human attention such as petting and scratching. She hasn’t been with us very long for her true colors to come out but one can tell she is an overall great cat. We would like Sandy to go to a home experienced in grooming and/or caring for long haired cats such as Persians. Fur maintenance needs to be a regular part of her care.

Story
Casper is a very handsome 2 year or so, white Persian boy we are thrilled to have. We were sent a video of poor Casper looking for food next to a busy street. We knew immediately he needs a safe home and our rescue can make that happen. Casper is very sweet and gentle. Likes attention and to be petted and doted on. He is so much fun. Loves to run around and play with the other foster cats. His fur is a little ratty due to neglect but with good grooming he will look stunning. Because Casper is a long haired cat we prefer he goes to a home with experience caring for long haired cats. Regular grooming is important for Persians as well as regular eye care. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Winston is a very handsome young adult boy that we are thrilled to have in our rescue. This long haired black and white approximately 3 year old boy came from awful beginnings. He was left on a busy street to fend for himself. He is a big fluffy kitty. Since he has been in rescue, his fur has glistened. Winston is very active and loves to play with those plastic swirly toys. He adores human attention and seeks it out. Don’t be surprised if he jumps up on the sofa and chews on your hair. He does have a heart murmur which has been checked out by a specialist. He is so strong and healthy. No medication or special diet. It needs to be known that as he gets older his heart needs to be checked out by a cardiologist. Other than that he will live a good life. Winston is very social so we would like to see him in a home with another active cat. He was in a foster home with dogs and does fine with calm dogs who don’t get in his space. Please give Winston a deserving loving home. He is a very, very special kitty. Only apply if you are committed to taking care of any future needs he may require. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2656124##

Story
Meet Agate! (Pronounced ah-gah-tay.) Agate is  handsome, long-haired tabby. Agate came to us 2 years ago after he and his brother were found in a Culpeper backyard at just 4 months old. They were very close but sadly, his brother passed away and Agate really struggled for a while without him.Agate is. VERY  friendly and charming. He is that socially awkward shy and handsome guy that doesn’t know how handsome he is. At dinner time, he head butts and rubs up against his foster mom in an effort to get as much wet food as he can. During the rest of the day, Agate tends to be more skittish and may startle if approached too quickly. It's hard to say what happened to this poor baby in his past to make him so shy. He appears to be more comfortable around men than women, but, as mentioned earlier, does well with his foster mom.Agate gets along well with other cats and has buddies that are both fosters and permanent cats at his foster home, whom he loves to play and snuggle. He would be most comfortable in a quiet, low to medium level energy home. He will need a patient human or family who understands that he is shy and will  give him the time he needs to acclimate. He will need another cat or two who he can snuggle with and be buddy up with in his new home. He would love to have living space where he can have some hiding places and taller areas to survey the world from. Agate is dewormed, up to date on his FVCRP and Rabies vaccines, neutered, combo tested negative, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Please think of giving this sweet boy a warm and loving home. You won't regret it. GoodMews22@aol.com or call 540.717.4420.Interested? Story
Meet Mila and Milo, 2 precious kittens that will keep you laughing. These babies are approximately 6-8 weeks old (as of June 20) and came to us from a local shelter that was over-capacity, placing either their lives or other cats' lives in jeopardy.Mila is a little girl - a brown tabby kitten that will remind you of Daniel Tiger from Mister Roger's Neighborhood. She was born with underdeveloped eyes, so she has very limited, if any sight, but the vet thinks there’s a good chance she has some sight in her right eye. Before you start feeling sorry for this girl let us just tell you, she is fearless! After a couple weeks in foster care, she is happy, healthy and so very playful. She loves to explore wherever she is, and she is a climber! She climbs anything she can in order to explore her world. She loves playing with her brother (from another mother) Milo and does love cuddling with people. She’s a fabulous “under the chin“ cuddler. As fate would have it, Milo came into that very same shelter the same day and the two are absolutely positutely bonded. Milo is a happy-go-lucky kitten with a big purr-sonality. He seems to always have that look of surprise and truly finds everything in life exciting. He is Mila's eyes and her protector. The two play together, sleep together, groom each other, and snuggle together.  Milo is very playful, but is also a A+ snuggler, too! Both kittens have been exposed to cat-friendly children 6 years old and up and do very well with them. Because Mila needs a little extra consideration, we would suggest a low to moderate activity household with children no younger than 6 years of age. (Each case to be considered individually.) Both kittens are/will be dewormed, recieve 2 distemper vaccines, a rabies vaccine, be spayed/neutered, combo tested, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. They are able to be pre-adopted now, and will be able to go to their new home in early July. Please fill out a digital application: application at:  https://submit.jotform.com/221029453063044 July 19, 2025, 1:51 am

Story
Meet Twinkle and Pixie! These two siblings originally came to us years ago as the only two kitten siblings of a litter that survived euthanasia at a high kill shelter. They were adopted, but have been returned to us due to no fault of their own.Twinkle is a 4 year old, beautiful, long haired, white and gray male. Heis a very loving snuggle boy who loves to eat and be pet almost as much as he loves chasing a wand toy. He flies through the air like a kitten half his size and never wants to stop playing even after he is tuckered out. He is very talkative and loves to be in the middle of everything. He gets along well with other cats and dogs but prefers most of the attention on himself.Pixie is a 4 year old white and gray Agean tabby. She is a sweet, shy girl who loves to be with you and be loved. Pixie was a little skittish in her former home, her adopter felt it was because it was "a little chaotic" due to a lot of pets in the home. Even as a kitten, Pixie was very shy. and Twinkle was her rock. Pixie is playful and snuggly at times and loves to lounge around all day, gazing out the window. She is a quiet cat who enjoys the calm and safety of a smaller area and a small, quiet group of people. We are hoping to get her into a quiet home where she will blossom again.Twinkle and Pixie are bonded and will need to be adopted together. Adopt 1, get 1 free. Twinkle and Pixie are neutered/spayed, up to date on rabies and FVRCP vaccines, combo tested negative and are microchipped with a lifetime registration. You won't need to pay to reregister every year, we've taken care of it for you.
