Story
Zuko is a German Shepherd, Akita mix that was adopted from Allen approximately 3 months ago. I work at 2nd Family Dogs; a doggy daycare so when I got him it was super exciting to attempt to get him to be socialized and used to a different setting at work.Now three months in, I have quickly realized that he isn’t a dog that is catered to a daycare setting. He isn’t aggressive, he just never learned how to play and is mistaken for being aggressive. Nonetheless it’s dangerous for the other dogs, paying parents, and workers at daycare. He is now listed as special handling because of his behavior meaning he’s constantly kenneled up. If he’s at home then he hates the kennel that much more. It has gotten to where we have no real way to get him to deregulate and with cats, the kennel just isn’t an optional thing. (He chases them). Other than that and being in a small apartment, Zuko is an absolutely amazing dog. Owning him has become problematic to both me and him and he deserves better.
