Story
Age: 3 years Weight: 40 lbs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Good with kids: Unknown Activity level: High Shedding Level: High Training: Basic, Leash Skylar is a gorgeous husky/shepherd mix with striking blue eyes. He is about 3 years old. Skylar had been injured during his time on the streets and had TPLO surgery on his leg last year. He has since recovered nicely. He absolutely loves to run and play! He likes to try to be in charge, but takes correction well. He loves to play with other dogs and get out his energy. He gets nervous with quick movements and takes a minute to adjust to new people and situations. With a little patience and plenty of treats he will warm right up and ask for pets. Once he is comfortable, he loves pets, giving kisses, and cuddling! He will even gently reach over and pull your hand back with his paw if you stop petting him before he is ready.  Skylar finished his training on basic obedience commands and socialization and is ready for a foster or forever home! Does Skylar sound like your kind of guy? Email placement@duckteam6.org or visit our website to fill out an application.November 17, 2025, 3:05 pm

Story
Mochi is a 2-year-old German Shepherd mix weighing approximately 80 pounds of loyalty, affection, and thoughtful charm. He’s a wonderful balance of active adventure buddy and relaxed couch companion, happy to join you for a walk, hike, or outing and just as content settling in at home afterward.   Mochi has a sweet, steady temperament and truly loves people. He bonds deeply with his humans and thrives on connection, attention, and shared routines. He does well with kids and enjoys being part of a household where he can feel included and valued.   He has completed professional board-and-train, where he learned important household manners and structure. One of his biggest accomplishments has been learning to feel calm and secure in a crate, which he now views as a safe and comfortable space. This foundation helps him transition smoothly into home life and makes him an easier companion to live with.   Mochi is fully house-trained and well-mannered in the home. He is eager to please, enjoys having a job or task to focus on, and responds well to clear expectations and consistency. His intelligence and desire to work with his person make him both rewarding and fun to train and live with.   His story began when he was found living on an uncleared lot in Old East Dallas. Thanks to the care and commitment of his foster family, Mochi has made a full transformation from a street dog into a loving, affectionate companion who enjoys the comforts of home life.   One of Mochi’s endearing quirks is his love for string cheese, which earned him the nickname “Mocheezy.”   Important to know: Mochi would do best in a single-pet home. He prefers space from other dogs when out and about, and can be strong on leash if he notices them. Mochi is happiest when he can focus on his person and form a close, one-on-one bond.   If you’re looking for a devoted companion who is affectionate, intelligent, and ready to be a true partner in life, Mochi is eager to find his forever home. Age: 2 years Weight: 82 lbs Good with dogs: Prefers to be the only dog Good with cats: No Good with kids: Yes Activity level: Active Vocal level: Low Training: Professionally Trained January 31, 2026, 11:09 pm

Story
Meet Juno â&#194&#128&#194&#147 The Husky Who Believes in Balance: Adventure and Naps ð&#194&#159&#194&#144ºâ&#194&#156¨ At 7 years old, Juno has figured out the perfect formula for life: go on a beautiful hike, enjoy a long walk, accept compliments from strangersâ&#194&#128¦ and then recover with a well-earned nap like the queen she is. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s still an active girl and genuinely loves getting outside. Long walks, hikes, and exploring are some of her favorite things, and sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll happily be your adventure buddy. But unlike your typical nonstop husky, Juno doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t need to run a marathon afterward. Once sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s had her exercise, sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s calm, content, and ready to relax with her people. Juno is incredibly friendly and loves everyone she meets. She thrives on attention and will gently remind you if youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ve stopped petting her too soon. She also has strong opinions and isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t afraid to share them â&#194&#128&#194&#148 sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll â&#194&#128&#194&#156talkâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 to you in classic husky fashion, usually about something very important like dinner or why she deserves more snacks. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll follow you from room to room just to be near you. Not because she needs anything â&#194&#128&#194&#148 she just loves being part of your world. Important notes from Juno herself: â&#194&#156&#194&#148 Loves hikes and long walks â&#194&#156&#194&#148 Equal parts adventure partner and couch companion â&#194&#156&#194&#148 House trained and crate trained â&#194&#156&#194&#148 Up to date on all vaccines â&#194&#156&#194&#148 Professional conversationalist â&#194&#156&#194&#150 Cats are a hard no (creative differences) Juno has left the puppy chaos behind and grown into the absolute best version of herself: active, gentle, loyal, and incredibly loving. She isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t just looking for a home. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s looking for her person â&#194&#128&#194&#148 someone to explore with, relax with, and love for the rest of her life. Rehoming her is incredibly difficult because she is deeply loved. The goal is simply to find her the forever home she deserves. This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program.
