If you’ve ever wished for a gentle, wise companion who quietly makes life better just by being there, meet Koa.
Koa is the definition of a gentle giant. Despite a difficult past, he has blossomed into a happy, affectionate, and wonderfully resilient dog who finds joy in life’s simple pleasures: a cozy bed, a favorite ball, a leisurely walk, and being near his people. He’s not clingy, but you’ll rarely find yourself alone as Koa takes his self-appointed role as your loyal guardian very seriously. Whether you’re heading to the kitchen or taking an extra-long shower, he’ll happily supervise before settling back down for another nap.
One of the sweetest parts of Koa’s day is his post-dinner routine. After a good meal, he’ll roll onto his back, rub his face into his bed, and make the cutest little grumbling noises which are a quiet celebration of feeling safe, loved, and content.
Koa gets along well with other dogs, is respectful of cats, and has been wonderfully polite in public. While he can be cautious around new people at first, a little patience and a few treats quickly earn his trust. He is house-trained, crate-trained, well-mannered, and happiest in a calm home where he can be included in everyday life.
Koa doesn’t need marathon hikes or endless activity. He’d much rather join you for a short adventure, then spend the afternoon lounging nearby, keeping watch over the people he loves.
After everything he’s been through, Koa deserves a family who will cherish him for the incredible dog he is. In return, you’ll gain a loyal friend, a quiet protector, and a heart as big as he is.
