Story
Kubo is Sponsored by Craig & Gale NiesMeet KuboKubo is a big boy with an even bigger personality. This giant teddy bear of a cat loves to keep you updated on everything going on in his world—every thought, every opinion, every observation. If you’ve ever wanted a chatty companion who will happily narrate life with you, Kubo is your guy.Despite his impressive size, Kubo is a total sweetheart. He loves attention, enjoys being near his people, and isn’t shy about asking for affection. Every now and then he’ll give gentle little love bites—his slightly quirky way of saying, “I like you a lot.”Kubo also has a very unique hobby: he appreciates moral support during litterbox time. Yes, really. He seems to enjoy having a cheerleader nearby while he handles his business, which just adds to his wonderfully goofy personality.Kubo is currently working on a health journey and needs to shed a few pounds, so his future home should be ready to help him stay active and maintain a healthy diet. With a little support (and probably some encouraging commentary from him), he’ll be well on his way.If you’re looking for a sweet, hilarious, larger-than-life companion who will keep you entertained and loved, Kubo might just be your perfect match. If you are interested in meeting Kubo, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday 11am – 6pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm. Story
Sunny is Sponsored by Jane BicquetteMeet Sunny Sunny is a very handsome adult gentleman with a sweet nature and a lot to say. He’s affectionate, friendly, and wonderfully vocal — the kind of cat who enjoys chatting with his people and being part of daily life.Like many sensitive, intelligent cats, Sunny thrives when he has healthy outlets for his energy and curiosity. The shelter environment—while full of caring people—can be overwhelming, with limited space and stimulation. During times of stress, Sunny began chewing at his tail, and under veterinary guidance, a portion of his tail was ultimately removed. He’s now healing beautifully and adjusting well.Sunny will thrive in a home that offers regular play sessions, engaging enrichment, and cozy places to climb and scratch — such as a cat tree with a sturdy scratch post. He also enjoys calming, focused activities like a frozen lick pad with his favorite wet food or Churu treats, which can help him settle and relax after playtime.Sunny is ready to trade shelter life for a loving home where he can play, unwind, and be someone’s cherished companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, expressive cat, Sunny is waiting for you. If you are interested in meeting Sunny, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday 11am – 6pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm. Story
Niblet is Sponsored by Brenda & Dr Patrick SpensleyNiblet is on a mission to find his best friend—and he’s hoping it has whiskers. While he’s still figuring out humans, one thing is absolutely certain: this little guy loves other cats. If you have a friendly, playful kitty at home, Niblet is ready to be their shadow, their cuddle buddy, and their partner in all things fun. He’s a thoughtful, observant kitten who started life in the woods and is now learning the ropes of indoor living at his own pace. With people, he’s shy and still building confidence—but with other cats, he absolutely lights up. He’ll follow their lead, join in playtime, and happily curl up alongside them when it’s time to rest.Niblet would thrive in a home with a feline friendly cat who can show him the way. Having a feline friend gives him comfort, confidence, and joy—and it’s where his sweetest, most playful personality really shines. He may not be your typical snuggly lap kitten (at least not yet), but he makes up for it by being an incredible companion for your current cat. Watching him bond, play, and blossom alongside a feline friend is truly something special.Niblet is looking for a patient, cat-savvy home that understands shy kittens and will give him the time and space he needs to grow. In return, you’ll get to watch a beautiful friendship unfold—and help this special little guy become the confident cat he’s meant to be.If your cat has been waiting for a best friend, Niblet might just be the perfect match! If you are interested in meeting Niblet, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment.
