Story
Buster is approximately 12 years old and is very friendly to people and loves to get attention and affection. He’s a lap kitty and occasional bedtime snuggler. He has been with me for over ten years. We are making the difficult decision to rehome him because 1) he doesn’t get along with our other senior cat and the aggression is getting worse every day and 2) we have our second child on the way and are simply outgrowing our home. We really need to find someone who will love him in his final years and give him the care and attention he wants and deserves. I wish that could still be us.

Story
MEOW! I'm FENNEC, a 2-year-old handsome tabby boy who needs a foster or forever home. I tested FIV-positive, which only means I need to be the only cat in your home. I've got a heart full of love to share. I'm a sweet, friendly fellow with a sprinkle of curiosity. I'm smart, too, figuring out things quicker than most. I'm also a cuddly snuggler who loves a good lap to curl up on. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, I'm all purrs and head rubs. I'm also independent, so I won't mind if you're busy sometimes. I'm a gentle soul, mellow and easy-going. I promise to bring a touch of tranquility to your life. Can you foster or adopt me?

Story
I adopted Pearly Whirly at a humane society near my college when she was 7 years old. She is now 8 years old and truly one of the sweetest cats. She is quite big I will say at 13.4 pounds. She looks comically large with a small face and tail but other than that she is very healthy. She loves to run and play and is very friendly to everyone and anyone. She especially loves giving people headbuts and snuggling right on top of you when she can. Ideally she would be the only pet in the home, but I’m sure she could adjust if necessary. It just may take some time. She loves head and neck scratches but it takes her a second to warm up to tummy pets. Overall she loves people, attention, and of course food. A wonderfully snuggly fat baby.

Story
Catherine O'Hara is Sponsored by Michael PriceMeet Catherine O’Hara — our leading lady with a flair for the dramatic.Much like her fabulous namesake, Catherine O'Hara, this girl knows how to make an entrance… and an exit. One moment she’s delicately draped across her throne (your couch), the next she’s delivering an award-worthy performance because dinner is three minutes late.Catherine is an adult queen who knows exactly who she is. She’s independent, expressive, and unapologetically herself. She’ll need an experienced cat guardian who understands that love is on her terms. She doesn’t do clingy — she prefers devoted admiration from a respectful distance (until she decides it’s time for affection, of course). She would thrive in a calm home where her boundaries are honored and her opinions are valued. In return, she’ll provide sophisticated companionship, comedic relief, and the quiet comfort only a confident cat can give.If you’re ready to worship appropriately, respect the diva energy, and share your home with a star who shines brightest when allowed to be her fabulous, independent self — Catherine O’Hara is ready for her close-up.If you are interested in meeting her, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday 11am – 6pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm. Story
Agnes is a classic tortie with all the attitude to prove it—equal parts sass, spice, and undeniable charm. This diva knows exactly what she wants (and what she doesn’t), and she’s not afraid to let you know. But beneath that bold exterior is a sensitive girl who’s been through a big life change.Agnes came to us with her best friend, Beatrice, and the two share a deep, unbreakable bond. Beatrice is her comfort, her confidence, and her safe place—so we are hoping to find them a home together where they can continue to lean on each other. Agnes especially relies on Beatrice for reassurance and does not do well when they are separated. After losing her previous owner—the only person she truly trusted—Agnes is still learning how to navigate the world again. She will need an experienced cat owner who understands that trust takes time, and that love from a cat like Agnes is something earned, not rushed. She prefers to set the terms of affection and will thrive in a calm, patient home that respects her boundaries. For the right person, Agnes offers something truly special: the chance to build a deep, meaningful bond with a cat who will choose you just as much as you choose her. And with Beatrice by her side, she’ll have the support she needs to blossom into the queen she was always meant to be.If you are interested in meeting Agnes, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday 11am – 6pm and Sunday 11am – 4pm. If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.comDue to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Dina is Sponsored by Michael PriceMeet Dina, a stunning tortoiseshell queen with a personality as colorful as her coat. This beautiful girl is the perfect blend of sweet and independent. Dina may be shy when you first meet her — she prefers to take her time getting to know new people and surroundings — but once she feels safe, her gentle and affectionate nature truly shines. She’s the kind of cat who bonds deeply with “her person” and will quietly keep you company from her favorite cozy spot.True to her tortie roots, Dina has that classic “tortitude”! She knows what she likes, isn’t afraid to show a little sass, and loves attention on her terms. It just adds to her irresistible personality. She’s independent enough to entertain herself, but she’ll happily accept pets and attention on her terms — and those moments feel extra special.Dina would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands shy kitties sometimes just need a little time. Once she settles in, you’ll discover a loyal, loving companion with just the right amount of spice. If you’re looking for a beautiful, soulful cat with sweetness, sass, and plenty of personality, Dina might just be your perfect match.
