Story
Meet our sweet girl who is looking for a calm, loving forever home. We’ve had her for just over a year, and she is truly a wonderful cat with so much love to give. While she finds small children overwhelming and becomes very scared around them (even when they’re gentle), she does well with older, respectful children and is especially fond of male figures, often gravitating toward them for comfort and companionship. With an 18-month-old and another baby on the way, we know our home is no longer the right environment for her, and she deserves more peace and individual attention than we can provide right now. She is affectionate on her own terms and will absolutely let you know when it’s cuddle time. She’s chatty, loves to snuggle, and her favorite place to sleep is tucked between your legs at night. She gets along great with other cats and dogs and would thrive in a quieter household. While she’s been an indoor cat this past year, she loves being outside and would enjoy safe outdoor ti

Story
This gentle tabby is searching for a loving home where he can be the star of the show. His previous family added a third dog and could no longer keep him. Now he's staying with us temporarily, but with three cats, a dog, and a lizard already in our home, we can't give him the life he deserves. This boy is an absolute sweetheart with the softest brown tabby coat, beautiful amber eyes, and a personality that will melt your heart. He's affectionate, loves attention once he feels safe with you. This sweet boy needs to be the only cat in the household. He wants to be your one and only, and he deserves that kind of attention. He prefers short/low-sided litter boxes rather than tall ones. His previous home had multiple dogs, so he may be able to adjust to a calm, cat-savvy canine companion. He's ready to love you right now! He's already been let down once. Let's make sure the next home is his last home.

Story
Buster is approximately 12 years old and is very friendly to people and loves to get attention and affection. He’s a lap kitty and occasional bedtime snuggler. He has been with me for over ten years. We are making the difficult decision to rehome him because 1) he doesn’t get along with our other senior cat and the aggression is getting worse every day and 2) we have our second child on the way and are simply outgrowing our home. We really need to find someone who will love him in his final years and give him the care and attention he wants and deserves. I wish that could still be us.

Story
MEOW! I'm FENNEC, a 2-year-old handsome tabby boy who needs a foster or forever home. I tested FIV-positive, which only means I need to be the only cat in your home. I've got a heart full of love to share. I'm a sweet, friendly fellow with a sprinkle of curiosity. I'm smart, too, figuring out things quicker than most. I'm also a cuddly snuggler who loves a good lap to curl up on. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, I'm all purrs and head rubs. I'm also independent, so I won't mind if you're busy sometimes. I'm a gentle soul, mellow and easy-going. I promise to bring a touch of tranquility to your life. Can you foster or adopt me?

Story
Niblet is Sponsored by Brenda & Dr Patrick SpensleyMeet Niblet 🐾Niblet is a thoughtful little adventurer who got his start in the woods and is now discovering life with humans on his own terms. He’s a shy kitten with a big personality and an independent spirit—perfect for someone who enjoys watching a cat grow and blossom with time.Niblet isn’t a natural snuggler, but he excels at being a quiet companion. Give him a soft bed and a good vantage point, and he’s perfectly happy observing the world around him. He appreciates a calm environment where he can feel safe, settle in, and slowly build confidence at his own pace. This handsome boy would be a wonderful project cat for a patient, cat-savvy home—someone who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. With consistency, gentle handling, and respect for his boundaries, Niblet has great potential to become a confident and content feline. If you’re looking for a kitten with character, resilience, and the opportunity to make a real difference in a cat’s life, Niblet may be the perfect project—and a very rewarding one.If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Hi everyone — I’m looking for someone who may be able to take in a 5-year-old domestic short-haired cat, or who knows someone who can. My cat Ozzy recently had a urinary obstruction (Feline Idiopathic Cystitis) and, while he’s currently stable, he’ll need long-term management in a calm, low-stress home. Due to his ongoing medical needs and upcoming life changes, I’m unfortunately not able to provide the environment that would be best for him. Shelters and rescues have been contacted, but many are currently at capacity. About Ozzy: • Neutered male • Shy but friendly and cuddly • Loves interactive toys (especially laser pointers), wet food, and cozy time • Best suited for a consistent, low-stress home (outdoor access is a plus) If you’re interested or know someone who might be a good fit, please message me. Thank you for reading and sharing. ♡

Story
Luna is sponsored by Baby MiaMeet Luna,  the undisputed ruler of the free-roaming cat room.At around 7 years old and a delightfully plush 13 pounds, Luna is a domestic short-haired queen who has perfected the art of presence. From her favorite high perch, she surveys her kingdom with calm confidence, keeping an eye on shelter activity below. She’s been with us for over six months now, patiently waiting for the right human to recognize that true royalty is worth the wait.Luna doesn’t demand constant attention. Instead, she prefers companionship on her terms. When she’s in the mood for affection, she’ll let you know—sauntering over for pets, striking up a chat, or inviting you into a playful moment. And when she’s had enough? A gentle love bite serves as her polite but firm way of saying, “Audience dismissed.” It’s all part of her charm.Independent, sassy, and full of personality, Luna is the kind of cat who bonds deeply with someone who respects her boundaries and appreciates her confidence. She’s not looking to be the center of attention every minute—just to share space, warmth, and mutual understanding with her person.Luna is more than ready to leave shelter life behind and settle into a forever home where she can reign in comfort, love, and just a little bit of sass. If you’re looking for a cat with character, conversation skills, and queenly flair, Luna may be the perfect match you didn’t know you were waiting for. 🐾✨If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment.
