Story
Meet Jenga – my “class clown” sweet little lady who is finally ready for her forever home! TOO LONG, DIDN’T READ - SUMMARY: * Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat * Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado (on occasion). Transport cost is included in the adoption fee. * Jenga will be shy at first in her new home and needs an adopter who will be patient with her while she adjusts. * Adoption fee (adult 1.5+ years) is $315 I had the pleasure of finding and raising Miss Jenga for the last year and a half, helping her go from a scared little kitten to a confident and beautiful cat. And BOY is she beautiful — a chunky little Tabico / Calico with cheek smudges who always looks like she’s smiling! Perfection! For the first year we were together, Jenga had no interest in being my friend. Don’t get me wrong, she was loving her life indoors… I caught her on camera every day bouncing around with her foster kitten buddies and chowing down on all the food she could possibly want. She just wasn’t ready to trust humans, and with that cute little face, I didn’t mind waiting around for her ;) About a year into our time together, Jenga finally made notable progress. She started getting excited to see me when I walked in the room! She darted up to a high shelf where she felt safe, stretched, rolled around, and even accepted some pets from me in exchange for treats. Since that day, Jenga has continued to become a confident, sweet, and friendly little kitty. She is without a doubt the queen of the foster cats, and they all follow her lead. She has also become a bit of a class clown!! She is shamelessly in love with Churu treats and will tap on my hand until she gets one (I put that video in her adoption profile - it’s pretty cute). She loves hanging out on her window perch, leaning over and staring down at me with her arms hanging over the side like a cute little dork. She also demands pets as soon as I walk in the room. It was bittersweet to realize that Jenga was finally ready for adoption because I love her to pieces. But after all her hard work learning to trust, Jenga deserves a family of her own who can give her all the love and attention she could ever want… not my loving foster home where she has to share that attention with 10 other kitties. I can’t wait to find her perfect family! If (and only if) you are considering opening your home to two cats, Jenga has a best friend named Aspen (a petite orange gal) who needs an understanding adopter willing to help bring her out of her shell. Adopting Aspen is NOT a condition for adopting Jenga, because Jenga deserves her happily ever after regardless. Just worth mentioning :) — Jenga has lived with multiple cats her whole life and would do very well if adopted with a buddy or into a home with a friendly resident cat. She has never met a dog before, but with proper introductions she may do well with a very calm and cat-savvy dog. Her ideal home would be a relatively calm environment with no children (or older / respectful children who understand the importance of giving a kitty her space.) She will thrive with experienced cat owners who will be patient while she gets used to her new surroundings. Once she does, she will return that love and patience tenfold! Jenga is approximately 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy.

Story
Meet Finn — the little survivor with the biggest heart. 💛 ***ROUGH LIFE, FABULOUS KITTY ALERT!*** Summary: * Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat * FIV+ Kitty * Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado (on occasion). Transport cost is included in the adoption fee. * Adoption fee (adult 1.5+ years) is $315 --- Have you ever wanted to make a massive difference in one animal's life? Finn is your chance to do just that. His story is heartbreaking but his spirit is a great reminder of how lucky we all are to have animals in our lives. This sweet boy has lived through more hardship than most animals ever should, yet he wakes up every day ready to love. Finn was found skinny, flea-ridden, and suffering from mange, wandering an apartment complex in Houston. He was going up to strangers begging for help… but because of his skin condition he was shooed away every time -- no one was willing to do the right thing for Finn. After some time, he was picked up and taken to the city pound where he quickly ended up on the euthanasia list. All for a completely treatable condition. Thankfully, a rescue stepped in just in time, and that’s when Finn’s incredible comeback story began. Once safe, we learned his situation was even more serious than the obvious issue with fleas and mange (those are easy and quick to cure). Finn was diagnosed with FIP, a very serious condition, and his chest was filling with fluid. He could barely breathe. After emergency drainage and lifesaving medication, he made a remarkable recovery! As if that weren’t enough, Finn also tested positive for FIV. He was also diagnosed with stomatitis (a painful condition causing inflammation of the mouth and gums.) He had most of his teeth removed to combat this issue, and while under anesthesia, vets discovered he had an old, untreated jaw fracture -- an injury no animal should ever have to suffer alone. And yet… through every setback, every treatment, every moment of discomfort… Finn has remained gentle, affectionate, and endlessly forgiving. He LOVES his people, loves to snuggle, and just wants to be near someone who finally sees him as worthy. --- After a tremendous amount of effort from his foster mom, this kiddo is doing great. His FIV is easily managed and doesn’t affect his day-to-day life. The stomatitis has already been addressed with his dental surgery, and Finn passed the 90 day observation period for FIP treatment back in December with a full recovery. The mange was gone after a quick topical flea treatment. He eats normally, feels great, and simply needs a forever home. In return, you get a devoted, grateful companion who has already shown he’s stronger than anything he’s been through. Finn does well with mellow feline friends (FIV-positive buddies are safest), but he is absolutely not a fan of dogs — and who could blame him after surviving the streets of Houston? He is approximately 3 years old, neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, FIV positive (but FeLV and HW negative), dewormed and on flea and tick prevention. The adoption application can be found here:

Story
Some animals walk into your life like they were always meant to find you — Zoey is one of those souls. TOO LONG, DIDN’T READ - SUMMARY: * Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat * Zoey is FIV+ so would do best as an only cat or with another FIV kitty! * Not a fan of young kids, would be fine with older children who understand cats and are willing to give them space when needed. * Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado (on occasion). Transport cost is included in the adoption fee. * Adoption fee (adult 1.5+ years) is $315 --- Zoey was found behind a police station, quietly waiting for someone to notice her. One kind officer saw that she wasn’t just another stray... she leaned into every gentle touch, purred at every kind word, and looked at people like she was hoping they were hers. After she was rescued, her foster found that she did have a microchip! Sadly, when but when her previous owner was contacted they did not want her back. And just like that, Zoey’s whole world changed. After nearly 6 years of being loved and belonging to a family, she was abandoned. But here’s the thing about Zoey: She loves anyway. Zoey has the softest black fur and four perfect little white paws. She looks like a perfect little princess who is always wearing ballet slippers! But her true beauty is in the way she loves people. When she trusts you, she will put her front paws on your chest and gently press her face to yours, purring the kind of purr that settles right into your heart. It feels like she’s saying, “Thank you for seeing me.” She wants to be close. To be someone’s comfort. Someone’s quiet companion. Someone’s home. Zoey may prefer to be the only cat, not because she doesn’t have love to give, but because she gives it all to you. She just wants to be your cat. Your lap buddy. Your warm spot in the morning sun. Your soft place to land at the end of the day. She has already known what it’s like to not be wanted. We think it's way past time for her to know what it feels like to be chosen forever! If you are looking for a companion who will love you with a depth and devotion that feels rare and special… If you have a quiet spot beside you that’s waiting to be filled… If you believe that some hearts are meant to meet each other… Zoey is waiting for you! — Zoey does well with calm kitties -- she and her foster brother Finn (both FIV+) get along fabulously. FIV is not extremely contagious and is mainly spread through deep bite wounds from cat fights (something she is not prone to!) That said, her safest home may be as an only cat or with another FIV+ kitty. She has never interacted with a dog, but with his genial personality (and proper introductions) he could do great with a calm and respectful pup. She is approximately 6 years old, spayed, microchipped, FIV+ (but FeLV and Heartworm negative), and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy... All she needs now is a forever home! The adoption application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat

Zoey is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes.
