NAME: Harvey Sex: male Color/Pattern: tan tabby with white tuxedo Breed: dsh Weight: med BDAY approx: June 17 2021 Coat length: short Description Harvey is a type-A, friendly, responsive talker who runs up to you for attention. A Velcro kitty who is your shadow. Personality Harvey doesn't think there is anyone in the world who isn’t his best friend. He is so outgoing, super smart and wants to communicate. He can get frustrated if you don't understand what he wants. He would be a good candidate to be trained to use the talking buttons you see on social media. He often prefers attention from people over food. He is independent and bold, brave and affectionate. Harvey was big and muscular when he came to GNAR, but after being neutered, has slimmed down. He was very successful as an outdoor cat. Resourceful and generous with helping other cats, and sweet talking people not-so-subtly to bend to his will. He is a kitty politician. If you are a dog person, this is the cat for you. You could probably teach him tricks. He is attentive and wants you to please him : D Background Harvey and Necia were found as strays together. Outgoing Harvey showed up first outside of an industrial building where the employees started to gain his trust and feed him. Uber-friendly Harvey accepted their invitations for friendship after a short while, and soon started inviting himself inside the front door, so they decided it was probably time to look for a new home for him. After he then also brought his new girlfriend Necia to join him, everyone started worrying that there would be kittens if they didn’t do something to prevent it soon. Harvey was very protective of Necia, so they didn’t get chance to get close enough to her to see if she was also tame. Once the 2 cats started getting too bold and trying to come indoors to the office, the employee contacted GNAR to help find a home for them. So they borrowed traps, and brought them to their new foster home. Harvey continued to guard Necia, so the foster home separated them to let Necia show her true personality. Harvey also sweetened up more after he was relieved of his perceived responsibility as Necia's protector and provider. NAME: Umami Sex: Male Color/Pattern: brown tabby Breed: short Hair Age at intake: 8 weeks BDAY approx: March 26, 2024 Intake date : May 14, 2024 Description Umami is a cuddly, outgoing, affectionate, very handsome kitten. Personality Umami was confident and an extrovert the day he was found. Even though he had never been held by a human before when found at 8 weeks old, he had no problem with it. He was a bit scared for the 1st few days but as soon as you picked him up he melted into a puddle of purrs. He loves to explore and has no fear. He is very curious and is oblivious that some other animals may want to eat him. He will burst out of a doorway, run right up to a large new dog, slipping through the bars of a babygate to join the pack. Umami is talented at jumping up onto a counter to get closer to you. He is a daredevil, talker and enthusiastic eater. Patience is not his forte and he will make sure you know it. Background Umami was found in front of a house all alone after a big storm in southwest Houston on Mon May 13. His momma never came back for him. His finder brought him to a foster home who had 3 bottle baby kittens of about the same age and added him to the litter of orphans. He was just old enough to already be able to lap kitten formula for himself and eat solid food. Olivia is a beautiful young adult tabby, about 3 years old, with a soft grey striped coat that looks even prettier in person. She’s a social girl who loves staying close to her humans, whether that means curling up nearby while you work or following you from room to room just to be part of things. Playtime is Olivia’s favorite part of the day. Her beloved toy mouse goes everywhere with her, and she’ll happily entertain herself… but she loves when you join in even more. Olivia is being rehomed due to a move into a smaller space She’s used to having more room to explore, stretch, and perch, and we want her to find a home that gives her the space and enrichment she deserves. She’ll thrive in a calm, loving environment where she can roam comfortably and soak up attention. About 8 months ago a friend reached out that had a sister that was sick and a single mom and needed someone to take her sweet cat. We brought Mosie home to already 2 cats and 1 dog. We have tried all the things but she is bullied by the other animals. She is stressed. She is very very sweet and loves to snuggle but the other animals do not like it. She needs a good home and would make a wonderful addition because of her peaceful and loving demeanor.

New intake alert!!! Meet Howl Jenkins Pendragon -- this lovable little gentleman is looking for his forever home!! We just knew they HAD to be indoor kitties, and they are loving it They have adjusted very quickly to the good life indoors and are ready for a home of their own! The Studio Ghibli kittens are new to our foster program and we are still getting to know their personalities, but so far we're in love. We will update their bios soon with even more info!
