NAME: Harvey Sex: male Color/Pattern: tan tabby with white tuxedo Breed: dsh Weight: med BDAY approx: June 17 2021 Coat length: short Description Harvey is a type-A, friendly, responsive talker who runs up to you for attention. A Velcro kitty who is your shadow. Personality Harvey doesn't think there is anyone in the world who isn’t his best friend. He is so outgoing, super smart and wants to communicate. He can get frustrated if you don't understand what he wants. He would be a good candidate to be trained to use the talking buttons you see on social media. He often prefers attention from people over food. He is independent and bold, brave and affectionate. Harvey was big and muscular when he came to GNAR, but after being neutered, has slimmed down. He was very successful as an outdoor cat. Resourceful and generous with helping other cats, and sweet talking people not-so-subtly to bend to his will. He is a kitty politician. If you are a dog person, this is the cat for you. You could probably teach him tricks. He is attentive and wants you to please him : D Background Harvey and Necia were found as strays together. Outgoing Harvey showed up first outside of an industrial building where the employees started to gain his trust and feed him. Uber-friendly Harvey accepted their invitations for friendship after a short while, and soon started inviting himself inside the front door, so they decided it was probably time to look for a new home for him. After he then also brought his new girlfriend Necia to join him, everyone started worrying that there would be kittens if they didn’t do something to prevent it soon. Harvey was very protective of Necia, so they didn’t get chance to get close enough to her to see if she was also tame. Once the 2 cats started getting too bold and trying to come indoors to the office, the employee contacted GNAR to help find a home for them. So they borrowed traps, and brought them to their new foster home. Harvey continued to guard Necia, so the foster home separated them to let Necia show her true personality. Harvey also sweetened up more after he was relieved of his perceived responsibility as Necia's protector and provider. NAME: Umami Sex: Male Color/Pattern: brown tabby Breed: short Hair Age at intake: 8 weeks BDAY approx: March 26, 2024 Intake date : May 14, 2024 Description Umami is a cuddly, outgoing, affectionate, very handsome kitten. Personality Umami was confident and an extrovert the day he was found. Even though he had never been held by a human before when found at 8 weeks old, he had no problem with it. He was a bit scared for the 1st few days but as soon as you picked him up he melted into a puddle of purrs. He loves to explore and has no fear. He is very curious and is oblivious that some other animals may want to eat him. He will burst out of a doorway, run right up to a large new dog, slipping through the bars of a babygate to join the pack. Umami is talented at jumping up onto a counter to get closer to you. He is a daredevil, talker and enthusiastic eater. Patience is not his forte and he will make sure you know it. Background Umami was found in front of a house all alone after a big storm in southwest Houston on Mon May 13. His momma never came back for him. His finder brought him to a foster home who had 3 bottle baby kittens of about the same age and added him to the litter of orphans. He was just old enough to already be able to lap kitten formula for himself and eat solid food. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my rescue family at GNARHouston@gmail.com to arrange a visit at my foster home or local Petsmart!

He approaches life with curiosity, confidence, and just the right amount of mischief. One day, Orbit discovered a sunbeam on the living room floor and decided it was his mission to follow it across the house. From that moment on, he became a professional sunbeam chaser, nap enthusiast, and part-time comedian. His purr can turn a stressful day into a better one, and his goofy antics guarantee daily smiles.Orbit isn’t just looking for a place to live—he’s looking for a family to love, entertain, and keep company. Story
Dagny is a very sweet, mellow senior cat who loves being petted and snuggling on the couch with her people. She has a calm, affectionate personality. Ray has a lot of charm and adds so much personality to the pair. He is sweet, lovable, and full of character, and he and Dagny balance each other perfectly. We're making the very difficult decision to rehome them because my spouse has developed very serious allergies, and we can no longer provide the living situation they deserve. It is extremely important that Dagny and Ray be adopted together. They have lived together every day for the past decade and are truly inseparable. They are always cuddling, snuggling, and keeping each other company, and we do not want to separate them. Dagny and Ray have also lived with a dog for the past decade, so they are accustomed to sharing a home with one. They will also come with a Litter-Robot, litter, and cat food. We are looking for a loving home that can welcome both Dagny and Ray so they can

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Despite her name, Hellcat is actually a very sweet girl who is very good with kids. She was found in the middle of a construction site when she was a kitten and her spicyness is what earned her the name, Hellcat. She is almost 8 years old now and has mellowed out considerably but is very vocal when it comes to things she doesn't like. She loves treats, wet food, and playing with rat shaped toys. Her special need is that she is allergic to fleas. They make her break out and scratch a lot to the point that she can tear her fur out if it gets bad enough. Other than that, she is a very mild natured cat who adores sun bathing. She can be a little sassy too but that's all forgiven when it gets cold and she cuddles under the sheets. I'm hoping she finds a home as either the only cat or with others. She doesn't need a lot and will be a very sweet, loyal companion with people who will treat her like the princess she is.

Story
Freya is a very shy, timid cat who tends to only warm up to one person at a time. Once she does however, she becomes really cuddly and will even cuddle in your arms when it's time to sleep. (No guarantee she'll stay the whole night though.) She tolerates other cats but prefers to be on her own a lot. She loves to lay down on the floor and will often study people from a distance. Freya is not a fan of loud noises and does not like dogs. She does love treats but is not a big foodie. Please be patient with her as she takes her time to get to know people. Once she likes you, she's very obvious with it and will make a lovely lap cat.

Story
Meet Tigger! The adoption application can be found here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat Tigger is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, or locations along their route. Tigger is the kind of cat who doesn't just live in your home-he lives with you. This handsome boy is all about companionship and will happily follow you from room to room just to be part of whatever you're doing. If you've ever wanted a built-in best friend, Tigger is ready to clock in full-time. He's incredibly cuddly and thrives on affection. Whether it's curling up beside you on the couch or soaking up pets, Tigger is happiest when he's close to his people. And if you happen to leave? Don't be surprised if he lets you know-this vocal boy has opinions about being left out and isn't shy about sharing them! Tigger is neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and in great health. He does a great job of keeping his litterbox tidy. All he needs now is his forever home! We believe slow introductions to a calm, cat-savvy pup, we think he could learn to love a new dog friend. IF you're looking for a loyal, loving cat who will always be by your side, Tigger is your guy. Priority will be given to applicants interested in adopting a pair of kittens or who have patient, playful resident cats or dogs at home. Information on why adopting two kittens together is best for their short- and long-term health and behavior can be found here: http://www.kittenlady.org/twokittens --- ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES: Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchipping, and transportation costs. Also, when you adopt from ROSES Rescues, you’re doing more than giving your new family member a home. Each adoption fee sponsors a cat on the streets of Houston to get fixed, helping end the cycle of overpopulation in a rough environment. We thank you so much for your contribution to our efforts! Story
Meet Jenga – my “class clown” sweet little lady who is finally ready for her forever home! TOO LONG, DIDN’T READ - SUMMARY: * Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat * Our rescue is located in Houston, TX, and we transport our babies to wonderful adopters in the Northeast, Pacific Northwest, and Colorado (on occasion). Transport cost is included in the adoption fee. * Jenga will be shy at first in her new home and needs an adopter who will be patient with her while she adjusts. * Adoption fee (adult 1.5+ years) is $315 I had the pleasure of finding and raising Miss Jenga for the last year and a half, helping her go from a scared little kitten to a confident and beautiful cat. And BOY is she beautiful — a chunky little Tabico / Calico with cheek smudges who always looks like she’s smiling! Perfection! For the first year we were together, Jenga had no interest in being my friend. Don’t get me wrong, she was loving her life indoors… I caught her on camera every day bouncing around with her foster kitten buddies and chowing down on all the food she could possibly want. She just wasn’t ready to trust humans, and with that cute little face, I didn’t mind waiting around for her ;) About a year into our time together, Jenga finally made notable progress. She started getting excited to see me when I walked in the room! She darted up to a high shelf where she felt safe, stretched, rolled around, and even accepted some pets from me in exchange for treats. Since that day, Jenga has continued to become a confident, sweet, and friendly little kitty. She is without a doubt the queen of the foster cats, and they all follow her lead. She has also become a bit of a class clown!! She is shamelessly in love with Churu treats and will tap on my hand until she gets one (I put that video in her adoption profile - it’s pretty cute). She loves hanging out on her window perch, leaning over and staring down at me with her arms hanging over the side like a cute little dork. She also demands pets as soon as I walk in the room. It was bittersweet to realize that Jenga was finally ready for adoption because I love her to pieces. But after all her hard work learning to trust, Jenga deserves a family of her own who can give her all the love and attention she could ever want… not my loving foster home where she has to share that attention with 10 other kitties. I can’t wait to find her perfect family! If (and only if) you are considering opening your home to two cats, Jenga has a best friend named Aspen (a petite orange gal) who needs an understanding adopter willing to help bring her out of her shell. Adopting Aspen is NOT a condition for adopting Jenga, because Jenga deserves her happily ever after regardless. Just worth mentioning :) — Jenga has lived with multiple cats her whole life and would do very well if adopted with a buddy or into a home with a friendly resident cat. She has never met a dog before, but with proper introductions she may do well with a very calm and cat-savvy dog. Her ideal home would be a relatively calm environment with no children (or older / respectful children who understand the importance of giving a kitty her space.) She will thrive with experienced cat owners who will be patient while she gets used to her new surroundings. Once she does, she will return that love and patience tenfold! Jenga is approximately 2 years old, spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She does a great job of keeping her litterbox tidy.

The adoption application can be found here:
https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat

Jenga is currently in Houston, Texas but can be transported to the Northeast, the Pacific Northwest, or locations along these routes.

Story
Meet Paisley, the teeny tiny girl with a BIG personality! QUICK NOTES * Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ROSE/Cat * Paisley is a very social girl and needs to be adopted with a buddy or to a house with a playful and friendly resident kitty * We transport our babies from Houston, TX to the NE, PNW, and locations along those routes (adoption fee includes transport) * Adoption Fee (kitten < 6 mo) is $425 and includes all vetting and cost of transport --- Paisley may only be two months old, but she has never once gotten that memo! This short-haired dark grey tabby is instantly recognizable by her two most charming features: a sweet little heart-shaped orange spot on her neck and the most adorable white smudge on her nose. She is, in a word, special. Paisley is always on the move, always making friends, and always the first to say hello to a new face (feline or human). She is smart, bold, and utterly unstoppable. She loves to play, will follow a Churu treat packet to the ends of the earth, and genuinely thrives with feline companionship. She’d do best in a home with at least one or two other cats to keep up with her big energy and even bigger heart. This little girl loves her "siblings" Puck and Piper (the little kitten family that adopter her as their own), and also does great with her foster buddy Gigi. Sometimes she is still a little shy at first with new people, but will warm up quickly once she knows she can trust you! This little girl is one of a kind. If you’re lucky enough to adopt Paisley, she will absolutely run your household - and you’ll love every second of it. Foster siblings: Puck (F), Piper (F), Gigi (F) --- 🐾 Health & Care: • FVRCP & rabies vaccinated • Spayed and microchipped • Current on dewormer & flea prevention Fostered in Houston, TX: transport available to the Pacific Northwest, the Northeast, and stops along the route. Transport costs are covered by the adoption fee. Your adoption fee saves two lives: it brings Paisley home AND funds spay/neuter surgeries, vaccines, and critical veterinary care for homeless cats and community cats in need. One fee. Two lives saved.
