Name: KateAge: 2 years oldWeight: 37 lbsRelationship Status: Looking for a patient heart and lifelong best friendsAbout Me:Hi, I’m Kate — a sweet, sensitive girl who’s learning that the world can actually be a pretty wonderful place. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by my dog friends, and I truly thrive by gaining confidence from the dogs around me. If there’s a friendly pack nearby, you’ll usually find me sticking close to them while I take everything in.I can be shy when meeting new people, and I need a little time to feel safe and comfortable. But once I open up and trust you? Get ready for nonstop cuddles, head scratches, and a loyal shadow who wants to stay by your side forever.I absolutely adore other dogs and love being part of a group — running, playing, and simply enjoying life together. Right now I’m thriving at the ranch, where I’ve really blossomed while surrounded by canine friends and freedom to explore.I’m also active, smart, and adventurous. Hiking, exploring, and outdoor fun sound amazing to me, especially if I have people and dog friends I trust beside me.What I’m Looking For:Patient, understanding people who know shy dogs need time, kindness, and gentle encouragement. A home with other friendly dogs would make me especially happy, since they help me feel confident and secure. If you think we could be the perfect match, contact SPARC and ask to meet Kate.

Story
We are looking for a kind, stable family for our beautiful 6‑year‑old male brindle dog who can no longer stay with our family due to a change in our circumstances. He has grown up with our children and absolutely adores babies and kids – He is patient, gentle, and loves to be hugged, brushed, and included in family life.He is medium‑large in size, healthy, and has been a cherished family dog his whole life. He is fully house‑trained, knows basic manners, and is calm and well‑behaved in the home. He enjoys snuggling on the couch, lying at your feet, and playing with his toys, but he is not hyper and settles nicely after some exercise. His temperament is best described as sweet, affectionate, and loyal. He bonds closely with his people, wants to please, and would thrive with someone who will include him as part of the family. He has never lived in a shelter, and we are urgently trying to find a safe, loving home so he does not have to go through that stress.

Story
Hi there! I arrived at HSVC through another shelter, and I’m ready to find a loving home of my own. Before coming here, I had quite the journey. While I spent some time at another shelter, I became a mama (I arrived already pregnant) and raised my puppy who now has a family of their own. Now that my mommy duties are done, it’s finally my turn to find someone who will take care of me. I can be a little shy when meeting new people but treats help me warm up pretty quickly. Once I feel comfortable, my sweet side really comes out. I also really enjoy the company of other dogs and feel much more confident when I have a dog friend nearby. I’ve come a long way, but I’m still learning that the world can be a kind and safe place. With a little patience, kindness, and maybe a few tasty treats, I know I’ll continue to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. What I’m really hoping for now is a quiet home, a caring person, and a soft place to land. I promise I’ll give you my whole heart in return.

Story
#A5785392 Meet April, a 7-month-old Plott Hound mix puppy with a soft, sweet soul just waiting to blossom. This darling girl can be a bit shy in the busy shelter environment, but her gentle nature shines through as she quietly seeks comfort and connection with her people. April would thrive in a calm, patient home that will give her the time and space she needs to decompress, build confidence, and grow into her best self. She’s already doing great on leash and gets along well with other dogs, and would especially benefit from having a confident canine companion to show her the ropes. Like any puppy, she’ll need help with the basics - potty training, continued socialization, and learning her manners - but she’s more than worth the effort. With a little love and patience, April will become a deeply devoted, loving companion for a family ready to grow alongside her. -7 month brown brindle and white Plott Hound mix -48 pound female - may need to be spayed upon adoption, but the shelter can likely help with this! -may also need the standard round of shots and preventatives before she can go home with you, but the shelter can help with this, too -very shy, sweet, and sensitive - needs some time and space to decompress so she can blossom into her best self, but then you’ll be rewarded with a fantastic furever companion -needs all the puppy basics in terms of training, but shows great potential already - very good on leash and eager to please -would make an excellent little sister to an older, more confident pup that can show her the ropes of your home APRIL’S VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Jv0831aTHr0 For more information, contact volunteer Lor at lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org Photo Credit: Rafael Diaz Look up this or other animals at Baldwin Park Animal Care Center https://animalcare.lacounty.gov/view-our-animals/ Use their unique ID NUMBER. Story
OMAR: Plott Hound mix / Neutered Male / 9 Months Old / 32 lbs OMAR is a very friendly, affectionate, and playful boy. He loves to play, run, and go for walks in the park. He gets along well with other dogs, sleeps comfortably in a crate, rarely barks, and is not destructive. Omar especially enjoys being close to people and loves hugs and cuddles. Omar was found with his mother and one of his siblings wandering the streets in very poor physical condition, searching for food and staying close to their mom for safety. When their rescuer saw them, she immediately took them in and brought them home so they could receive veterinary care and begin their medical protocol. Thanks to the love and care they received, Omar has grown into a happy, healthy puppy who is now ready to find a loving forever home. Every dog deserves a safe and loving home. Story
4 year old, 70lb Tilly found herself at North Central Shelter in March of 2026. She came in with a microchip, meaning she had a possible owner, but nobody came to claim her. In dog playgroups and with volunteers, Tilly was described as gentle, tolerant, and friendly with people and dogs. Due to stress in her kennel, she became at risk of euthanasia so our team at Dog Coalition sprung into action and with the help of a dedicated foster were able to get her into a foster home in April. Tilly is a gentle soul blossoming more and more with each passing day. Since coming into foster care, this beautiful girl has been winning hearts left and right with her calm nature and growing love of cuddles. She took to crate training immediately and considers the crate her own cozy sanctuary. She even loves sleeping in it overnight! Tilly is also working on her leash and walking skills with her signature calm and good behavior. We have no doubt she'll be a lovely walking companion in no time. Tilly shares her foster home with two smaller, more relaxed dog sisters, and she fits in perfectly with their laid-back energy. Her play style is dainty and considerate, always matching the energy of the other dogs. She has also been slowly and carefully meeting her cat foster siblings, and so far she's showing calm curiosity without any signs of prey drive or aggression. We believe she would do well in a home with dog and/or cat siblings! She loves finding the sunniest spot in the yard to soak in. Whether she's napping in a warm patch of sunlight or rolling over for a belly rub with someone she trusts, this girl knows how to enjoy the good life. She is warming up to new people faster and faster every day, and once she decides you're her person, she'll give you the whole belly. What You Should Know About Tilly: - A gentle, sweet girl who grows more confident and loving with each new day - Dainty, considerate, and playful with other dogs - Showing promising, calm behavior around cats. Could potentially thrive in a multi-pet home. - A certified sun-bather and belly rub enthusiast (once she trusts you, it's belly rubs on demand!) - Crate trained and loves her cozy space, which will help her transition to a new home - Could be nice for a couple or family looking for a well-balanced dog to take on adventures and hang out at home with! To meet Tilly, please fill out an adoption form on dogcoalitionla.org/adopt and follow her foster @samsfostertails and @dogcoaltionla for updates!
