Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. 🐾💕 Meet Willa 💕🐾 Willa is a 3-year-old, spayed female Plot Hound mix weighing around 60 pounds, and she is searching for the patient, loving forever home she truly deserves 🏡❤️ This sweet girl was found as a stray while sadly pregnant. She lovingly raised her puppies, and now that most of them have found homes, it’s finally Willa’s turn to be spoiled and loved 🥺🐶 Willa can be a little shy and slow to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she becomes the biggest love bug 💕 She is incredibly sweet, quiet, and gentle in the home. She does well with other dogs and mostly ignores cats. Because of her timid personality, she would do best with older children who understand how to give her space and patience. Willa is still learning that leashes are safe, so she will require a securely fenced yard to help keep her comfortable and safe while she continues to build confidence 🐾 Due to a suspected history of neglect, Willa unfortunately tested positive for heartworm disease. She is looking for a foster-to-adopt home willing to bring her to a vet clinic in Plymouth for her treatment appointments.
