Meet Guinness, a super handsome six-month-old, 42 lb. plott hound/pittie mix with the most stunning brindle coat, precious smile, and dark brown eyes. He came to our rescue from Texas with his sister, Mimi. They were saved from euthanasia with just hours left before taking the long journey to Connecticut. Now that Mimi has been adopted, he is in search of his own loving furever home. Guinness is always ready to be the life of the party, hence the name! His tail never stops wagging and he just adores his playtime and toys. Before he came to us, he even enjoyed swimming in the fosters pool in Texas. Although he will likely grow to be 60+ lbs., Guinness is a total lap dog who loves to snuggle. He's super playful and loves to run around and explore. He is a bit unsure of new people and dogs when he first meets them (he will sometimes bark, lunge, or growl) so he will need someone who will help guide him to let him know that all is okay. Guinness is young and spent some time being cooped up in a shelter so he would benefit from training but thankfully is very treat motivated. He can be jumpy so young children aren't recommended and he'd be best suited for teens and up. He must go to a home with a fenced yard and an adopter willing to continue training with him. His adoption fee is $450 and Guinness is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. Happy December! This month we are featuring as many of our adoptable dogs as we can to hopefully get them home for the holidays 🎄 Kit Kat is a a 8-9 month old Plott Hound mix. He’s one of our longest standing residents and super sad that he hasn’t found his own family yet. He loves people of all ages. He is great with other dogs and cats. He was part of a large litter and came in with several other hound litters and the competition meant that somebody had to be the last one standing. 😞 KitKat is a dog who just loves to lean into you when you stand, will lay by your feet while you’re at your desk and will have his head in your lap when you’re on the couch. Sweet Tiger Lilly was abandoned. We had to gain her trust to catch her. She completely blossomed once she knew she was safe. She is a happy bouncy girl! She would make a great agility pup! She loves other dogs and doesn't mind cats at all. She loves to have friends to play with! She is also child friendly. Housebroken Crate trained and looking for her furever family! We are a southern rescue that sends many of our dogs to wonderful families in our Northern network. We use a transport company that brings the babies up which is included in the adoption fee.

His name is Grundy. And he is blind since birth. But it doesn't interfere in his life. He is well behaved, super friendly and the sweetest dog ever. He is dog friendly and doesn’t mind cats. Grundy knows sit and is potty trained. Does well in a crate. He enjoys running around outside and barking and playing. He is very good at staying in the fenced area or the yard boundaries. He loves rope toys he can whip around his head Loves to snuggle at bed time. Grundy is been taken care and is on flea and tick medication and interceptor for heart worms prevention. As a puppy he had seizures, after vet gave him Levetiracetam and Gabapentin that he takes daily , he had no seizures since around April 2022 As a blind dog he plays with normal dog toys, but there are also special toys for bk8nd dogs. He goes to the door and whines to let him out. He can go up and down steps At his new home rugs help him figure out the path through the house so he doesn’t run into anything. Bells help him know where the doors are. Keep all his items and food in the same place so he can learn where it is. Guide him up and down steps until he gets used to them. Use baby gates where necessary that he won't get into things or hurt himself . All the above will help him get around and learn his new home . Grundy is the sweetest dog you will ever meet!
