Story
Pluto is a friendly, handsome, 75lb social butterfly who thrives on routine and loves a good training session. Pluto has received private 1:1 professional training for basic obedience and walking. He is also crate trained and responds to verbal & hand cues for basic commands like sit and down. He is GREAT with other dogs and usually greets new people belly up. Pluto is considered high energy (he is a puppy after all!) and loves to play outside, go for walks, and play with other dogs. Naps in the sun, and durable chew toys are a few of Pluto's favorites! He would be a great companion for an active family with children over 13 and would do well with another dog. Pluto needs a home with strong leadership and an owner who is experienced with his breed - he has the potential to be a GREAT family dog and companion. Pluto is neutered, microchipped, no known health issues, and current on all vaccinations. We recently had a baby which has triggered him to guard objects and areas in our home

Story
Birthdate: 1/15/2020Breed: One of a kindWeight:   70 lbsPlease meet Auggie!  Auggie is a 6 1/2 year old,  loyal, affectionate dog who forms deep bonds with his people. Once you've earned his trust, you'll have a devoted companion who loves walks, hikes, car rides, adventures, and cozy snuggles at home. He's smart, house-trained, crate trained, food motivated, and eager to learn. Auggie knows his basic commands, enjoys chewing on durable toys, lounging in the sun, looking out the window, and showing off his goofy personality by shredding cardboard boxes (when approved!) or doing happy zoomies after coming in from the rain.Auggie is happiest in a calm home with people who understand that he needs a little time to warm up to new people. He can be wary of strangers, visitors, and some larger dogs, and he appreciates patient introductions, positive reinforcement, and clear routines. Once he feels safe, his loving, loyal personality truly shines. Auggie is looking for someone who will appreciate his sensitive nature and give him the time he needs to build trust. In return, he'll be a faithful best friend and a wonderful companion for years to come.If you are interested in learning more about Auggie and would like to meet him you can contact his current family at russellkline1@gmail.com or speak to someone here at Paws Crossed for more information. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.August 21, 2026, 1:42 am

*Name: Scout *Age: 7 years old *Current Weight: 100 lbs *Rescued from: Texas (currently located with foster in Texas, transport will be scheduled once adopted.) *Adoption fee: $375 (plus $150 spay/neuter deposit, see below for more information) *Health: up to date on vaccines, and microchipped *Adoption requirements: adopter must be 25 or older Meet Scout!! Scout is an energetic boy who loves to run and play. Throw a ball, a frisbee... heck throw any thing and he will chase it down. Play a game of tug and he is all in. He gets along great with female dogs, he will run and play until they can't anymore. Scout does well on a leash. He does get excited to explore and see new things so he may, walk you... nothing a little consistency and correction won't fix. He is a strong boy who LOVES attention. Scout is crate trained. He loves to receive love and loves to give it even more. He is just a big ol' baby who needs to be taught manners. He would do well with an active who enjoys time outside, could that be you?? IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. The $150 deposit will be returned once the contract has been fulfilled. To apply to adopt, fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/ FAQs -- PLEASE READ ALL BEFORE EMAILING All adoption fees are non-refundable If paying by credit card, Venmo, or PayPal there is a set processing fee, generally this fee is under $15 per pet. These processing fees are determined by the form of payment adopters decide to use. By helping with this minimal cost this allows us to save more animals. Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the below information about our adoption process before emailing: LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are listing for dogs for adoption, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on their profile and what might be listed on a dog's medical records. SNARR'S ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting a SNARR dog/puppy is to fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. **We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog. ** MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors. APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, that means we did NOT receive your application. ##1151721##

With there being no local animal shelter, The couple took in over 40 dogs to keep them from starving on the streets. When the husband passed away and his wife fell ill, SNARR NE was asked to help out with the placement of the dogs. Sofie is an outgoing loving girl who will great you with a wagging tail ready to accept your love. She has amazing house manners and stays on all fours. She gets along with all dogs. When food is involved she will protect her bowl so if your have another dog she will need to be monitored or fed separately. She loves to snuggle up next to her people. Sofie would do fine in a house with calm kids. She would do fine with friends or as your only companion. She is eager to please you so is willing to try new things. She loves butt/head scratches, belly rubs... well actually, just touch her, feed her and you will win her heart. She is fearful of storms but is just fine once she is snuggled up next to you. She will alert you when a stranger is in your yard. She is a very happy go lucky girl who goes with the flow. Henry Lee is a sweet boy who loves, human affection and of course food. He is a smart boy and likes to please his people. He does well on a leash and enjoys going on walks. He would love someone who will let him spend time outside soaking up the sun. He will pounce around and play for a bit but is pretty mellow and happy to be a couch potato. He enjoys snuggling. He enjoys hanging out with friends but would do fine as an only dog. He has nice house manners and also does not jump. Henry gets along with all female dogs and low energy submissive male dogs. Crate trained by saying "get in your house Henry".
