Story
I am a sweet dog looking for a quiet home. I can be a bit nervous at first but I warm up fairly quickly. Sometimes I appear to prefer girls over boys, but I will likely love everyone equally once I`ve had some time to become familiar with my new, loving family. I love to cuddle and give kisses. I love car rides and snuggling on the couch watching TV. I am also very loyal to whoever is caring for me.INSIGHTS FROM MY FOSTER FAMILY:`She is a friendly and affectionate girl who really loves people. Things she is passionate about include: rolling around in nice tall grass, human attention, and especially going for car rides! She`s a medium energy dog who enjoys a good walk or hike, and then will happily snuggle up next to you on the couch. Although she loves to be with people, she does well when she needs to be left alone. She can rest calmly in a crate, and has also been left loose in the house for a few hours at a time in her foster home without being destructive. She will gallop around the house to celebrate your return home! She`s housebroken and doesn`t chew on things that aren`t hers. She knows some basic commands and will take a treat gently from your hand as a reward for doing as she`s asked. She will be so happy to have a new home and be able to shower her people with doggie affection!`INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`Angel is such a sweetie! She did great on our walk and was very loving and playful with my 7 and 11-year-old kids. She showed no hesitation hopping in the car and was a very well-behaved traveler. She knows “sit” and “lie down” and seems to respond to her name. She tugged on the leash a bit, but was otherwise an easy hiking companion. Angel will

Story
** I cannot be the only dog in the home! **Hello, I’m Eddie!! I’m a playful, goofy, clumsy, happy, and lovable guy looking for my forever family. I’m a big guy whom would do best with older kids (Teens) or an adult only home. I would love a home with an active family, a fence in yard to explore and play. I will need to have a doggy playmate who can romp around the yard with me, too! We can work together to get our zoomies out. I like to keep entertained and I loooooove playing with other dogs. I have a lot of puppy energy so I do tend to tire out older dogs but I respond very well to corrections when they tell me to leave them alone. I’m a pretty savvy guy! I love to bounce around; I’m 80 pounds but I’m a tall guy and a bit inquisitive; I’m working very hard on my manners training so that I can be on my best behavior around those tempting counter tops! Speaking of my training, I have already come a long way! I’m house-trained, crate trained, have good manners and I’m doing very well on leash. When I get excited I can pull a bit but we are working on this impulse control as well. I am definitely looking for a family that’s just as excited about continuing my training as I am about learning. If you’re looking for a fun loving, adorable, goofy, playful and sweet pup, I might be your guy! Fill out an application so we can meet! I am neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, have been dewormed, and am current on my monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. My adoption fee is $325. If you think I could be the one for you, please fill out an adoption application on our website: www.secondchancenc.org. Thank you! ***Please Note: All the available dogs listed on our website are getting spoiled in private foster homes. If someone has caught your eye and you wish to arrange a meet and greet, we do need you to fill out the adoption application. When your adoption application is received our screening team will verify the information given. Once your application has been confirmed and approved, we will be send it over to the foster parent for review to determine if your home is a good match for the dog. In the event one lucky dog receives multiple applications, please know we do not select based on a first come basis. We try our best to select the best-fit for our animals and families. ***

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application ›   Oh, hey there! I’m Walton—certified good boy, professional toy enthusiast, and a true comeback kid. I was this close to taking the Big Sleep at the shelter, but some amazing humans gave me a second chance. And let me tell you—I’m making the most of it! First things first: I am house trained, handsome, and hilarious. I LOVE toys—squeaky, bouncy, chewy, you name it. If there’s a game of fetch or a good ol’ tug-of-war, I’m all in! Humans are my favorite—I just want to be around my people and soak up all the love they’ve got to give. I can get along with other dogs, but honestly? I’d rather be the king of my castle. And when it comes to food, I prefer to keep my dinner mine, thank you very much. My dream home? A quiet place with some awesome humans who want a loyal, loving, and slightly goofy sidekick. No tiny humans running around, please—I prefer a more relaxed vibe. If you’ve got a couch, some snacks, and space for a four-legged shadow, I’m ready to move in. Let’s do this!     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 25, 2025, 6:26 pm

Story
Sage is an amazing dog with lots of love. She does not like yelling or fighting. She just loves to lay with her companion. I just don’t have the time anymore as my partner left and it’s just me taking care of the dog and trying to work my job. She needs someone who can give her the attention she deserves.
