Hi, I’m Soul—a 1-year-old brindle Plott Hound mix with a heart as big as my name. I’m still young, so I’ve got a fun, playful energy and love any chance to stretch my legs, explore, and soak up attention from my people. I’m a curious pup who enjoys sniffing out new adventures, but I also have a sweet, affectionate side. I love being close to my humans, whether that’s leaning in for pets or just hanging out by your side after a good play session. I am currently part of the Direct to Adopt Program in Austin, TX. For the past eight weeks, Mama Jo has been the ultimate attending—on call 24/7, pouring her heart into raising a crew of happy, healthy, tail-wagging interns. Now she’s clocking out (well-earned!) and sending her little residents off to start their next chapter. We’ve got one in every color and pattern. Whether you’re drawn to bold and dramatic or soft and understated, there’s a pup here ready to steal your heart faster than a season finale plot twist. Mama Jo herself looks like a lovely mix of a Lab and a Vizsla—around 45 pounds—and we expect her pups to grow into similar medium-sized companions, ready for both adventure and couch-side consults. We included a photo of mama in the slide show. As for dad… well, let’s just say this is a bit of a mystery episode. We may not know who the fathers are, but rest assured—they were clearly very handsome. We’ve had to do a bit of guessing on breed mix. They’re playful, curious, and already practicing excellent bedside manner (snuggles included at no extra charge). All that’s missing is their person… their home… their happily ever after. Meet Avery!Avery is a large American Staffordshire Terrier mix with a goofy, playful personality and energy to spare. This fun-loving pup is always ready for action and would be thrilled to have a buddy to play with all day long.Avery is great with other dogs and absolutely loves playtime. Avery especially loves playing with his Foster brother Zion! He is curious about cats and may chase them, but does not treat them like prey. Slow introductions are recommended when introducing to animals and humans. Because of Avery's size and energetic enthusiasm, a home with older kids is recommended.Smart and eager to learn, Avery already knows several commands including sit, paw, down, and around, and is currently working on stay/wait. Like many young, energetic dogs, Avery is also working on polite greetings, especially controlling jumping and mouthiness when meeting new people.The ideal home for Avery would include a fenced-in backyard and, ideally, another playful dog to be a built-in best friend. With continued training, structure, and plenty of playtime, Avery will thrive and be an incredibly loyal, fun companion.
