With his stunning brindle coat and big, loving personality, Elton is ready to win your heart — especially if you love an active, fun-loving pup. Elton is a young, energetic guy who lives for playtime! Toss him a ball and you’ll instantly become best friends. He’s a graduate of the DASH Prison Training Program, where he learned basic commands and continues to work on his manners. He’s housebroken, social, and gets along well with other dogs and people. However, because he can get rough, small dogs are not recommended. While Elton doesn’t like to share his food or toys, he’s full of affection and thrives when given structure and activity. He hasn’t been tested with kids or cats yet, so proper introductions are important. Elton has a ton of energy to burn and can get jumpy when excited , but with regular exercise and continued training, he’ll be an amazing companion for an active household. Because Elton is a vocal pup, apartment or condo life wouldn’t be ideal. He also enjoys “talking” to passing cars, so a secure, tall fence is a must, this adventurous boy is a climber! Meet Summer!This beautiful brindle girl is about 46 months old and likely a fun mix of Plott Hound, Shepherd/Malinois, and possibly Mountain Cur. She arrived at Canine Collective with her look-alike brothers, Duke and Scout affectionately known as the Brindle Trio. At around 25 lbs, Summer is the perfect middle sibling.Summer made her big social debut at a pet-store event and impressed everyone she met. She was a total social butterfly soaking up attention, rolling over for belly rubs, greeting every person in sight, and handing out kisses like candy. She wasnt jumpy, handled the busy environment with ease, and calmly ignored the larger dogs around her.Leash manners werent her top priority that day because she was so excited to meet all her new fans, but she showed that shes food-motivated and quickly learned sit with a few tasty bribes. Meet Duke!This handsome brindle boy is about 46 months old and likely a mix of Plott Hound, Shepherd/Malinois, and possibly Mountain Cur. He arrived at Canine Collective with his look-alike siblings, Summer and Scout together known as the Brindle Trio. Duke is the tallest of the bunch and currently weighs around 30 lbs.Duke made his social debut at a pet-store event with his sister Summer and took in all the sights and sounds with big curious eyes. He was a little shy at first and stuck close to his sis, but once he explored the toy and treat aisles on his own, his confidence started to shine through. He even joined in the holiday fun and didnt mind trying on a few costumes and props.His handler reports that Duke is a bright, observant pup who will likely learn new skills quickly. Hi, I’m Burrito! I'm a mixed breed dog who loves to go for walks and play tug-of-war! I came to the shelter in August of 2024. I love to smile and greet the caregivers when they come to pet me and am very gentle taking treats, I also do good for my baths. I am very friendly with other dogs of all sizes, and am especially fond of the puppies, but I don't really like cats.
