Story
I am currently fostering Chapo, who was saved from the euthanasia list in San Antonio, Texas. Chapo lived his life outside prior to arriving at my home, so he is working on potty training, but is making wonderful progress. He is learning how to be a dog and trust humans. Reluctant to trust at first, he is really coming out of his shell. He loves treats, gets along with other dogs, and does well with children also. He deserves the best life with someone who will spoil him and make him feel safe and loved.

Story
Meet handsome Lamar....this 2.5 year old plott hound/lab mix is 72 pounds of sweetness! He was picked up as a stray in St Thomas in February 2022 and spent months in the shelter where he shut down, not wanting to eat, walk or play. Neil, a volunteer at the shelter, fostered him and loved him until Neil left the island to work stateside. Instead of placing Lamar back in the shelter, the Pets With Wings Program brought him to Pet Search! Lamar loves other dogs and will thrive with a fur-sibling or two! and once he becomes comfortable, he will join and play, almost to the point of exhaustion! Lamar is very skittish when first meeting people and will bark out of anxiety, and will back away. After several weeks in foster care, he is warming up to his foster parents. Lamar needs time to adjust to new surroundings and will have accidents while feeling comfortable. He loves to sleep in bed or on a sofa, but is crate trained also. Lamar has shown no reactiveness to cats and would be a great playmate for older children due to his size and weight. Applications can he found at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog

Story
Introducing Cricket!! Cricket is an approximately 2 year-old petite Plott Hound mix weighing in at 38 pounds. Cricket spent over a year in an outdoor shelter, but now has a new leash on life living outside those walls with her foster family. When she first got out of the shelter, she was a scared pup—hiding behind the couch and under the table, not sure what to think of her new digs. Fast forward to today and she is as spunky as ever, zipping around the house with her fur and human siblings and playing with ALL of the toys. There is no favorite toy of hers—they all are! To sum up Cricket’s personality—she is spunky, goofy, playful, and energetic. She gets along well with all of her fur siblings as well as human siblings. We are not sure how she will do with cats as her foster home does not have any. Cricket is a very smart girl and is very food motivated. She is doing great on a leash and is house and crate trained. She is learning tricks like to sit and give paw. Cricket would thrive in a home with a secure, fenced in yard where she can run and stretch her long legs. We would highly recommend her new home have another dog to continue help her gain confidence in being an inside dog. Cricket is up to date on all required vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Cricket will be available for adoption with Paws Across Pittsburgh on or after 3/10/2024. KL# 16182 ##1991589##

Story
Meet Pixie, a 12-week old Plott hound mix! Her mom is 40 pounds, but she’s a bit of a chonk at 18 pounds already. Pixie is highly food motivated and picks up tricks pretty quickly. She loves zooming around the fenced in yard and needs another dog to wrestle. She also loves toys and snuffle mats to work out that hound nose. There are two cats in the foster home, and Pixie is curious about them though she gives them their space. She is great at going potty outside on command but still working on only going outside. She’s also learning how to not say thank you with her teeth. Her favorite place to nap is in her crate cuddled up to her sister though there may be some crying at first when the door is closed. She’s still working on being crated during the day but has been sleeping through the night in the crate with no accidents.      ##2021656##
