Story
Welcome Zeus to CCPAL Foster Program. Zeus is a 18-month old 70 pound Plot Hound/Medium Terrier blend dog. He was abandonded by his owners when they moved and left him at the house they moved from. He was tied up to the porch. Good Samaritans spotted him and were feeding him and giving him water until they realized the owners weren’t coming back. Zeus is now in foster home waiting for his new forever home. He is great on a leash and not leash reactive. He is good in a crate and he likes car rides. He is attentive, smart and potty trained. He is overall a wonderful dog and is not food aggressive or reactive with his bowl. He would make a wonderful outdoor enthusiast a great companion. He would make a perfect man dog. He looks tough but he is not at all how he looks. He would make a great family dog if the man works out of the house. His looks would make the family feel secure even if he loves everyone. He is a lower shedding dog with a nice soft coat. He is healthy, vaccinated and neutered. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas. We can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
Hello, my name is Hugo, and I'm a bit shy around new people, especially in the kennel here at the shelter. But don't let that fool you! With just a bit of patience and understanding, I'll show you that I'm a social boy who loves attention and learning new things.I just want to please my humans, but I do get a bit nervous around too many new people, so a quiet, low-traffic home would be ideal for me. I'm sure I'll warm up to you in no time, and once I do, I'll shower you with love and affection.I think it would be best for me to have another friendly dog in the home to show me the ropes and help me build my confidence. I'm a quick learner and love to play, so having a furry friend to romp around with would be fantastic!I may not show well in the kennel, but I promise that with a little patience, I'll show you what a great companion I can be. So if you're looking for a loving and loyal pup to add to your family, please consider adopting me, Hugo!

Story
Hi, my name is Harvey! I’m an energetic, cuddle-loving dog with the heart of a puppy. I love balls, fluffy toys, sticks, paper, and even popping bubble wrap. I’ll find things in your yard that you didn’t even know were there. I have no sense of personal space because I believe the best thing is life is being close to the people I care about. If you’ll let me I’ll lay with you after a long day of work and keep your blankets warm at night. I love kids and showering them with attention, but my energy might be too much for small children at first. I get along great with friendly dogs, especially those who love to play. I’m not quite sure how to walk on a leash just yet, but I am working on it. I’de be great for homes with at most one other dog, and no cats. I’m not sure what to do around small dogs since my foster home only has medium to large dogs (40+ Ibs).

Story
Loves to cuddle up and snuggle with you but also enjoys her personal space where she will just relax on her own. She is always ready to play and can get a little bitty but will never actually injure you, Her favorite toy atm is her stuffed sheep animal that she will toss around or sleep with. Lots of energy and always ready to go for walks and will instantly break out into a run if you are wanting to run too. Hildie is very protective of her person, which is a positive and a negative. Sometimes she cant tell friend from foe. The ideal home for Hildegard would be someone open where she can run around and possibly have other dogs to play with. I havent been able to see her interact up close with other dogs but she never really has an issue when they walk by.

Story
Age: 2 yearsWeight: 55 poundsLocation: FosterMeet Domino! She was found stray heavily pregnant and had 9 puppies February 12 in a loving foster home. When not on Mama duty, she enjoys running in the yard, playing fetch, carrying around toys in her mouth and being loved on by her foster family! She is a great family dog. She is 100% potty trained, is gentle and bonds quickly. She likes to stick close to home and enjoys a comfy couch, especially when she gets to snuggle with a family member! She needs work on jumping but is good on a leash or harness. She seems good with other dogs but has only been observed with the resident senior Chi. She has chased cats but is possibly just imitating what the other dog does . Due to her size and energy, she would be best in a home with older children. Domino is around 2 years old and weighs 55 pounds. She looks like a Catahoula Leopard dog, possibly mixed with Great Dane.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as "Out of Town" pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.
