Story
Obi has been with us since he was 8 weeks old. He is energetic and playful, and is usually very gentle and loves to be rubbed and cuddled. However, he has displayed anxiety since he was a puppy, and he takes anxiety medication daily. He has a tendency to resource guard some items such as bones and toys. He is occasionally reactive to other dogs when on leash and has redirected his aggression onto whoever is walking him. He does have a bite history. We think he would do best in a home without kids, or a home with lots of his own space or land where he can be outside.

To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events* Simba may be just be the loving, adventurous best friend you've been looking for! Simba really enjoys an outing - he likes to investigate on long walks and keep the occasional squirrel in line, but mostly heels on his own and is easy to walk. He is working on learning commands, but his house training looks solid, and he will spend time in a crate if you ask nicely. He eats well, but hasn't been super food motivated so far. This brings us to his most outstanding quality - Simba is a total lovebug who wants to spend time with this people and make them happy! The only reward he wants for learning and being a good boy is your love and attention. He is easy-going with this senior foster sister, and is starting to figure out toys. He's friendly and easy to love, and his great personality will shine through even more as he gets more comfortable. Come meet Simba this weekend and tell him you will be his very best pal!

Hardest decision ever but we need to find a new home for our fur baby, Gunner. ❤️🐾 He’s a rescue (found as a stray) so we’re guessing his age to be around 8-9. Breed is Plott Hound. House and crate trained. Neutered. Up to date on rabies vaccine. Ideal home would be someone who is settled, has a calm demeanor, and lives on land that he can run around on. Fenced in would be amazing. I do not think he’d do well in an apartment setting. His ideal person would be someone who can be his “pack leader” and instill security/confidence in him. He’s goofy and loves to run around. He’s treat and food obsessed. Looooves to play with other dogs. We don’t have cats or anything else so I can’t say how he is with them. The times he’s been around kids he’s done well. No aggression or anything. If going to a family, I do think he’d be best in a home with older kids though who understand boundaries/giving dogs space, as he’s not a super cuddly dog.
