Story
Oliver is a 8 year old Great Dane/ Pointer mix that weighs about 70 lbs! Oliver is good with dogs and kids of all ages but is not a friend of cats! He is working hard on perfecting his sit, stay, kennel and no jumping commands as well as crate training and housebreaking! Oliver came to the rescue as a small puppy as one of a litter of 11 that was left in a box next to a mail box at only about 10 days old! While almost all of his other siblings found homes immediately Oliver was looked over. He is a big boy with lots of energy and is still waiting for his forever home! He has been neutered, is up to date on vaccines, heart worm negative, and been dewormed!! His adoption fee is $250.November 3, 2024, 8:52 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you are interested in any of the FFOSK9 pups,  the first step is to fill out an application at  http://www.ffosk9resq.org/info/adoption .   Kermit too has been in his foster home for way too long! He was rescued from a southern shelter where he and his mother and siblings were set to be Euthanized in Sept of 2023. Its been almost 15 months since he was saved His mother two sisters and 3 brothers have all found homes. Now its his turn. He weighs 60 pounds and will be 2 yrs old mid December. Kermit is a sweet loving guy that just wants to please his humans. He is good with the other dogs at the rescue. Sadly Kermit was adopted by an older couple and they couldn't  give him the kind of attention and exercise that a dog his age needs because of their health issues, so he was returned to the rescue. It wasn't his fault, he just wanted someone that can play, run, hike and just have fun with. Kermit has been left in the house at night un-crated and does very well. He waits until morning to be let out to do his business. Kermit also loves car rides and rides quietly watching out the window. He would be a great companion for any active person or family.   Please visit our website at www.ffosk9resq.org to fill out an application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes.  We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3  organization.  We rescue pets from high kill shelters, prior to being euthanized, as well as strays and unwanted pets. We do not adopt to "outside only" homes nor do we adopt to anyone who wishes to crop, dock, or do any other alterations except the spaying and neutering of their pets.  All pets are completely vetted, up to date on all vaccines, and given rabies certificates.   November 29, 2024, 1:32 pm

Story
Yeah yeah, he shares a name with that famous book dog. But unlike him, our Marley is past the puppy nonsense and already has his basic manners and play skills down pat (well...keeping it real...he can't catch worth anything!). But just like that other Marley, our boy is looking for that home that will stay true, through thick or thin, for better or worse.   ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB: May 2014 ~  Est weight:  60#  ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
Bring treats when you meet Jessica, and you will quickly have a pretty, entertaining, and snuggly best friend. She doesn't have much use for toys, but does enjoy being outdoors sharing time with you. She already has nice manners, but is smart enough to learn more - especially when it means extra treats! She already responds to sit, crates nicely, and is decent on leash. You know when she is happy by her little dance, endearing smile, and the sparkle in her beautiful gold eyes. Jessica is a little jumpy at quick movements, so we suggest no kids at that erratic age. She has done well with other dogs at the shelter who don't mind her play acrobatics. She does need an extra tall or solid fence and no cats, as her athleticism gets the better of her in both situations.  ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  Sep 2020 ~  Intake weight:  47# (but tall)~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm
