Story
Oliver is a 9 year old Great Dane/ Pointer mix that weighs about 75 lbs! Oliver is good with dogs and kids of all ages but is not a friend of cats! He is working hard on perfecting his sit, stay, kennel and no jumping commands as well as crate training and housebreaking! Oliver came to the rescue as a small puppy as one of a litter of 11 that was left in a box next to a mail box at only about 10 days old! While almost all of his other siblings found homes immediately Oliver was looked over. He is a big boy with lots of energy and is still waiting for his forever home! He has been neutered, is up to date on vaccines, heart worm negative, and been dewormed!! His adoption fee is $250.June 7, 2025, 6:30 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If you are interested in any of the FFOSK9 pups,  the first step is to fill out an application at  http://www.ffosk9resq.org/info/adoption . ADOPTED!! Victoria is a beautiful girl, who we believe is  2-3 years old.  She is the product of living in the wild for the first 5 months of her life. Never knowing the gentle touch of a human hand or the love of her human family. She spent a long time in a shelter and then in rescue, which is also multiple dog environment since then. When she was first rescued, she wouldn't let anyone within 50 feet of her. At this point she will let you come close but prefers to come to you. She will allow you to pet her and talk to her, she will walk well on a leash, or sit quietly on the couch next to you, once she learns to trust. She is not a snuggle bunny and her body will stiffen if you try. She will make a great dog for a family with a large fenced area, with lots of room to run and explore. The more one on one attention she gets, the sooner she will warm up and learn to trust. Victoria gets along well with most dogs but is guarded when first introduced to other animal as well as humans.  She is spayed, UTD on shots, micro chipped, and on monthly prevention. She is best buddies with Marsha and it would be wonderful if someone had the space for both of them. She desperately needs her furever home to get the one on one attention and gentle handling,  she needs to build that trust and love. The rewards would be huge!! Her adoption fee is $200.  We are an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) group,  so all funds go right back into the care of these and future wonderful pups. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  We are a home based, not for profit organization in Northeast Alabama that helps place forgotten and unwanted pets in forever homes.  We are an all volunteer, 501(c)3  organization.  We rescue pets from high kill shelters, prior to being euthanized, as well as strays and unwanted pets. We do not adopt to "outside only" homes nor do we adopt to anyone who wishes to crop, dock, or do any other alterations except the spaying and neutering of their pets.  All pets are completely vetted, up to date on all vaccines, and given rabies certificates.   June 21, 2025, 12:56 pm

Story
Yeah yeah, he shares a name with that famous book dog. But unlike him, our Marley is past the puppy nonsense and already has his basic manners and play skills down pat (well...keeping it real...he can't catch worth anything!). But just like that other Marley, our boy is looking for that home that will stay true, through thick or thin, for better or worse.   ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB: May 2014 ~  Est weight:  60#  ~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
Meet Jessica! Jessica is a beautiful, sweet-tempered girl who thrives in open spaces and sunshine. While small, enclosed areas can make her anxious, she’s a calm and loyal shadow in wide-open spaces—happily following her person around without ever getting in the way. She’s perfectly content sharing her yard with other dogs, especially if she gets time to do her all-important sniff patrol. Jessica isn’t much of a snuggler, but she absolutely loves chin and neck scratches—and she’ll happily lean in for more! This water-loving girl believes no puddle, pool, or muddy spot should go unplayed in. She walks wonderfully on leash and knows sit, come, and no—especially if you’ve got a treat or kind word in hand. If you're looking for a low-maintenance, independent sweetheart who’s happiest outdoors and loyal to her person, Jessica could be your perfect match. ~  Est DOB:  Sep 2020 ~  Intake weight:  47# (but tall)~  Mystery mix - parentage unknown~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJune 19, 2025, 10:44 pm

Story
Meet Ellie- she was found at our place about 2 months ago and has been living with our family and our other pups since. She’s a sweet cuddly dog. She is deaf and will need someone with patience and time to get her trained up. She does know some basic sign language commands and has been a willing learner. We simply don’t have time for a 3rd dog unfortunately. Absolutely loves kids, cats and has shown zero signs of any aggression towards any kids, dogs or other animals. Shes a total submissive dog and just wants to please. All up to date on vet appointments and vaccines. She will need to be spayed but needs a month or so, that cost is covered if done at our vet
