Meet Espresso Bean Good things take time to brew, and Espresso is proof of that. This 5-month-old Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix is one of the four adorable pups from the "Café" litter, and he's exactly the kind of dog who reveals himself in the best way. He's dressed in a beautiful white coat covered in the cutest tan details: a striking patch around his right eye, little cow-like spots scattered across his back, and a dipped tail that ties his whole one-of-a-kind look together. When Espresso first arrived, he was the more reserved and thoughtful one of the Café puppies. While some of his siblings dove headfirst into the middle of everything, Espresso liked to take it all in first, quietly sniffing around and giving himself a little time to decide that everything was okay. That gentle, observant nature is still part of who he is, but he has blossomed so much since then, and the playful, affectionate puppy underneath has come out in a big way. Espresso grew up alongside his three Café Litter siblings, giving him wonderful early socialization with other young puppies. Since being at the rescue, he has truly come out of his shell with other dogs, and they bring out his very best. He comes most alive in the company of his canine friends, where he's respectful, attentive, and affectionate. Meet Dino Sprinkled Donut! Dino is an easygoing guy with a gentle nature and a steady, stable personality. He's the kind of dog who takes life as it comes, and with that sweet, mellow spirit, he makes friends wherever he goes. He's equal parts playful and couch potato. A little exercise is all Dino needs before he's ready to head back inside and relax, so he would do great in a home with a yard or even in an apartment. His handsome black and white coat is the perfect finishing touch for a dog who's as easy to love as he is to look at. Dino is an amazing social dog with both people and dogs. Dino would do best with a confident/avoidant cat household! Even though he doesn't currently live with another dog or cat, he greets every friend he meets with a loose body and a happy tail wag. Meet Nellie! 💕🐾 Nellie is a sweet, affectionate girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She absolutely loves people and has a way of turning just about everyone she meets into a new friend. She may give a little bark when someone approaches, but once she realizes they’re there to say hello, she’s all about the pets and attention. Nellie would be a wonderful match for an active person or family who enjoys being outside. She has plenty of energy, strong athletic legs, and would likely make an amazing walking, hiking, or even running buddy. She’s still working on her leash manners, but she’s already showing that she can stay close and listen with some guidance. She’s also incredibly food-motivated, which makes training with her both fun and rewarding. In just a couple of weeks with her foster, Nellie has already made huge progress with crate training. She now settles much more calmly and will even choose to go lie in her crate on her own during the day. Nellie can be a little unsure about certain new experiences, especially things like the bath hose, but with patience, encouragement, and a little coaxing, she continues to improve. She’s the kind of dog who just needs someone willing to show her that the world is a safe and exciting place. After spending some time without the exercise and attention she deserved, Nellie is more than ready for her fresh start. She’s loving, playful, active, eager to learn, and full of potential. Luna Goofy Buttercup knows how to make a little affection go a long way. It doesn't take long at all for this girl to become your bestie. She’s fostered in a loving home with an older woman and has been gentle and sweet with her. That everyday connection is a lovely glimpse of Luna -a young dog learning about home life and doggie manners from her foster and making it look easy. Luna's foster shares that she is house and crate trained and a good passenger in the car. A little boost getting in, with some sweet talk for encouragement, gets her on her way. Then she’s happy to come along for the ride. Luna does not live with other dogs in her foster home which helps us understand that despite enjoying a game of chase with a doggie friend, she could be perfectly happy as your only dog. She enjoys the company of her people and loves having a spot beside you all her own. If she joins a home with another dog, her best match would be a gentle companion over 25 pounds who enjoys a comfortable pace and gives her room to get acquainted. Thoughtful introductions will help their friendship get off to a good start. A home with a yard would suit Luna beautifully, giving her a familiar place to explore, stretch her legs, and enjoy time with her people. She has a medium energy level, a goofy streak, and a possible interest in splashing around. Stop scrolling… because Scarlet Mae is the kind of dog people don’t forget. From the moment you meet her, she has this way of making you feel like you’ve known her forever. Maybe it’s those adorable floppy doppie ears that bounce with every step, or the way she looks at you like you’re already her favorite person. Whatever it is, it works! Because Scarlet wins people over almost instantly. She’s affectionate, attentive, and completely people-oriented in the best way. The kind of dog who doesn’t just want to be near you, she wants to be with you. Whether she’s leaning in for hugs, soaking up pets, or gently asking for just a little more love, Scarlet has a way of turning even the simplest moments into something special. All she wants to do is make you happy and put a smile on your face. We believe she would make a great family dog. Another thing we love about Scarlet is the way she will sit in your lap letting you give her the biggest full body hugs and when you stop… she’ll lean even closer to you. Almost like she's saying, “hey friend, just 5 more minutes please.” It’s very sweet. Scarlet is dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced her to. Scarlet lives in a foster home with another big dog sister. They get along great playing and taking rests. She loves to romp around in the yard with the other dog, playing chase and exploring with her doggy friend. For the most part, Scarlet is either enjoying the sunshine and fresh air while the other pups around her are playing, off exploring, or getting loved on by her people. In a home, she will do best with a medium energy dog that enjoys those relaxing moments together, will be up for a game of chase every now and then, and will also be mindful of her boundaries when she’s ready to relax. If you don’t have other dogs, that’s fine too! She does not need the company of another dog to help her feel comfortable and open up nor does she need another dog to fulfill her energy needs. She is a confident love bug all on her own and will be just as happy being the center of your attention. She also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. She did not chase Biggie, nor was she bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around her as well. We do not know if Scarlet has ever lived in a home before with a cat and this was our first time seeing her with a cat. If you have a cat in the home, we can arrange for her to have a sleepover with a cat upon request. Just let us know! Scarlet is also a smart girl and is a quick learner too. She already knows how to sit, is mastering her leash skills, and has shown us that she is crate trained and potty trained as well. She is very people oriented, eager to please, and loves a good tasty treat. All the fundamentals that make any additional training you want to do with her that much more enjoyable for you both. She really impressed us with how quickly she responded to every command we gave her. Scarlet has the type of energy that is perfectly in the middle. Not too high and not too low.
