Story
How Godzilla Marie arrived: Godzilla Marie was brought in as a stray on November 29, 2025. Why Godzilla Marie is the one for you:Meet Godzilla Marie, a dog with a personality so big she is practically a Queen of the Monsters - the snuggle monsters, that is! Don't let the name fool you, the only thing she is looking to destroy is a bag of treats or a boring afternoon. She bonds with people almost instantly and is Godzilla-sized in her affection, often trying to climb into your lap for a massive cuddle session. While she may be deaf, she doesn't let that silence her spirit. She navigates the world with monstrous enthusiasm, responding beautifully to hand signals, body language and most importantly, snacks. Her deafness actually gives her a superpower because she isn't bothered by loud city noises or barking neighbors, keeping her focus entirely on her favorite person. She can be somewhat high-energy and jumpy when she is excited to go for a walk, but she is easily redirected with a tasty treat or a fun toy. Once she is on the move, she is a force of nature who loves to sniff every leaf and greet every new friend. This playful girl is a total socialite and has shown colossal friendliness toward other dogs. She has done great on buddy walks and loves the city-smashing fun of a trip to the dog park. At home, she is already crate trained and is a legend at not getting into things she shouldn't. Godzilla Marie thrives on play, structure and plenty of monster hugs. If you are ready for adventure with a dog who is larger than life, Godzilla Marie is ready to roar! When you come to meet her, please bring a leash and collar so you can take this joyful girl home and start your epic journey together. At SDHS:Godzilla Marie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 54 Age: 2yrs 5mths 0wks

Story
Marvin is a sweet and noble dog, 1.5 years old and 30 pounds. He was hanging around the shelter for a couple of weeks, he was given food, water and some love, but we decided to take him in when he arrived really injured and covered in blood, we think he was attacked by dogs. Fortunately in his medical checkup he didn't come out with many problems, and he is now healthy and ready for his new home! He knows how to coexist with other dogs, although he has his temper, he is usually very tolerant with effusive puppies. He likes to sleep in his giant bed, is crate-trained, house-trained and is sociable and friendly with new people. He knows how to ride in a car, and smiles when you scold him, he is adorable! We don't know exactly what breed he is, google lens finds a resemblance to an English Pointer and Andalusian ratter. The $350.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to San Diego, CA. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash. The adoption fee does not include transportation to North of San Diego

Story
Jett is approximately 3 years, around 90 pounds, neutered, fully vaccinated English Pointer breed. He will be crate trained but needs patience with potty & leash training~ soon he will be a pro of all three!! He is affectionate, but can be a bit nervous when first met with unexpected changes. Jett gets along well with most dogs (but we suggest he be paired with a female companion), adults and older children alike. Given his adaptability, he should be able to learn your family’s routine rather quickly and become part of the gang in no time!!! Jett was rescued from a gas station parking lot in Tecate. When found He suffered from ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis. Fortunately he is now healthy & flourishing under the loving care of a foster. (Aug 2025) Jett has a lot of love to give and longs for a family who can provide him patience, affection and attention he craves. He deserves a warm and loving home where he can feel cherished as a member of the family!!!

Story
Meet Holstein From fearful… to playful… to ready for home. Holstein’s journey began as a scared young pup, running along a riverbed and golf course, unsure of people and the world around him. When A Way Home For Dogs stepped in, they discovered he was just about 6 months old—still a baby who had never truly known love. Today, Holstein is a completely different dog. He’s grown into a big, goofy, affectionate Great Dane / Pointer mix with a personality that keeps everyone smiling. Known for his “Tigger-like” bounce, Holstein is playful, silly, and full of life. He loves carrying around toys, finding the coziest spot in the house (usually your bed), and showing off his excitement before walks. Perks  Playful, goofy, and full of personality  Loves toys (the squeakier, the better ) Affectionate and loyal once bonded Great walking companion  Keeps life fun and entertaining Needs  Only pet home (no dogs or cats)  Older kids (10+) due to size and energy  Secure handling on leash (no off-leash)  Continued structure and guidance Ideal Home Holstein is looking for a home that has a calm, structured environment. His perfect adopter is patient, committed, and comfortable handling large breeds.  Holstein has come a long way—from a scared puppy to a joyful, loving companion. Now he just needs someone to give him the home he’s been waiting for. If you’re ready for a big, lovable goofball who will keep you smiling… Holstein is your guy. ##1342588##

Story
My name is Fury because of the distance and way I covered ground as a stray.  I was very young (less than a year old) and very scared.  I would spend a few days or weeks in one location and move far away.  They say it would not be credible if there were not photos to prove it!  After a long distance and time I was creatively secured and safe.  No one came looking or claimed me from the shelter so my captor saved me again.  It took some time, but I learned to trust, embraced love and now find friends in people and fur.  At events I am quick to roll over for rubs, will look at you with my gooey eyes and ask for more when you stop.  I enjoy outings on leash and in public.  I LOVE my people and can't wait to greet them or have one on one wth them.  I do struggle when left alone  so need to be supervised, with someone at all times or safely contained (my escapee skills are almost as impressive as is my destruction).  I am all about being honest but have a huge heart and love to give.    They didn't think I'd make it this far but three years later here I am....... Out and about, confident with people and LOVING life, limited as it is in a rescue.  Please give me a chance and I won't let you down. Because of my Flight Risk I cannot be left unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures and my new family must be aware of open doors and windows.  NO offleash activities in unfenced areas for life. Story
Mira is a 6 year old German shorthaired pointer. She has prey instinct and will not do well with birds, reptiles, cats etc. Ellie is a 5 year old golden retriever. We got both dogs at 8 weeks old and raised them in a loving home around other dogs and kids. They are house trained and crate trained. They are very active, social, loving, playful, friendly dogs. They absolutely love to swim and their favorite place to play is the dog beach. They are bonded best friends and Ellie has separation anxiety from Mira and does not do well a part from her. They need an active household who will enjoy taking them for runs, playing at the beach and snuggling on the couch after a long day of play. Older children, maybe 7+ would be great playmates for them. These are high energy dogs. Mira is more athletic and independent but Ellie will occasionally chew things when left idle for too long. They are seriously the sweetest pair and they deserve an active, fun loving home!
