Ice was pulled from our local kill shelter. He loves stuffed animals and balls. Loves to play in the water. He is dog friendly, usure about cats. He was a shelter favorite. His markings are pointer like, no no real idea on his breed without doing a DNA test. He would love his own family and a couch to chill on and watch tv with you. He is crate trained Housebroken Medium size but still on the petite side.

Israel is an almost 4 year old Pointer mix. This sweet fella is more calm than the average pup and seems to just be a 'go with the flow' kind of guy. He walks well on a leash after initial energy out of his cage, and is overall a gentleman. While Israel is fairly reserved when in his cage, his wonderful personality really shines once he is out of it and in the park! He becomes so joyful – the type of joy that spreads to everyone around him! He enjoys playing with toys, frolicking with people, and giving goofy grins while getting petted. Clearly Israel will truly shine once in a home setting! He is smart and we believe he would catch onto commands quickly. We are unsure of his demeanor with other dogs and would suggest a meet-n-greet!   The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.April 28, 2024, 1:43 am

Story
Chance is a dog whose love knows no bounds despite having a past that was certainly less than kind to him. When Chance came to the rescue, he had a giant open wound on his back leg; the wound was in the shape of a large "D" and the clean margins likely mean it was inflicted purposefully by a human. Though we wouldn't blame him if he was hesitant to trust people, that couldn't be further from the truth. He loves his humans and seems to live to please. Chance's listening skills are top-notch and we quickly learned that he's very trainable, especially when there's food involved. Since he joined the rescue, he has been fostered by a training facility that helps him polish his skills when time allows. His behavior has already improved leaps and bounds, and with a little love and patience, Chance will continue to be a 10/10 good boy. Chance isn't crazy about cats and some other dogs, but we understand (we don't like every human we meet, either!). He would likely do best with only one other dog he is tested with or as an only (fur)child. Our guess is that Chance's heart is so full of love for his people that there's simply no room left for anything else. He's truly a fantastic dog who adores both adults and kids--he's just waiting for a family willing to give him a "chance" (yes, pun intended) at happily ever after!
