Story
Earl is a country boy who keeps it cool inside the house and out. He has a great attitude and is always smiling. If you're looking for a dog to cuddle with, Earl's your guy. And if you're looking for a dog to just hang out with, Earl is also your guy - that's right, folks, he's flexible. Earl has lived with older kids before and was a perfect gentleman with them. He has been living with other dogs in the shelter and gets along just fine with them, so we think he would do great with a brother or sister dog - although he wouldn't mind your undivided attention either! He enjoys fetch and playing with rope toys, and loves to go for a run once in a while, but he's happy to relax on the couch with you too. His greatest talent is his sniffer - this boy has a great nose and loves to put it to use! Earl really is the do-it-all dog. Whatever you're looking for, he's sure to have it. So come on down to the shelter and meet him today - he can't wait to get to know ya!

Story
Meet beautiful Kelly! She arrived at the shelter as a lost girl on 4/4, and no one has come to reclaim her. Kelly needs a hero and quickly. She has found herself in an overcrowded shelter and she's petrified. She also has heartworms, which are treatable, but having medical needs is not ideal when the shelter is full. The volunteers describe her as sweet, but so very scared. She does know how to sit and lay down when asked. If you have a soft spot for the shy kids please don't delay and come meet Kelly. She really needs someone to step up for her. Kelly is approximately 6 years old, and she weighs 48 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and she will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Unfortunately, Kelly did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care she can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with your vet about treatment options. Kelly is waiting in in run 27; her ID # is 655667. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Israel is an almost 4 year old Pointer mix. This sweet fella is more calm than the average pup and seems to just be a 'go with the flow' kind of guy. He walks well on a leash after initial energy out of his cage, and is overall a gentleman. While Israel is fairly reserved when in his cage, his wonderful personality really shines once he is out of it and in the park! He becomes so joyful – the type of joy that spreads to everyone around him! He enjoys playing with toys, frolicking with people, and giving goofy grins while getting petted. Clearly Israel will truly shine once in a home setting! He is smart and we believe he would catch onto commands quickly. We are unsure of his demeanor with other dogs and would suggest a meet-n-greet!   The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.April 13, 2024, 5:13 pm

Story
Meet Liam! He is an energetic, 4 year old Pointer mix who is looking for a forever home. He would make anyone a great hiking or running companion (his foster mom jogs 8 miles a day with him!). Liam is GREAT with kids and cats! However, he is dog selective. He does great in his foster home with her older, laid back dog, but he is not all about that puppy energy. He likes to do his own thing with his family and doesn't want to be bothered with other dogs. He currently shares his home with two blind cats, an older dog, and teenagers and he LOVES all little kids that he meets! If you are interested in adopting Liam, please fill out an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FAY-A-1277 **Applications can take anywhere from 5-7 business days to complete. When filling out an application, please check for a confirmation email to be sure that your application went through. We respond by email, so please check your spam and trash folders. If you need to reach us regarding your application, the best way to contact us is through email.** We are located in Fayette County, GA and are a foster based rescue without a shelter building.
