Story
This sweet and spunky girl has an estimated birthday of early May 2026, and at almost 13 pounds, she's already got plenty of personality packed into her puppy frame. Chappy is doing great with potty training — she's even started sitting and waiting at the door when she needs to go out, which is pretty impressive for a girl her age! She's currently working on crate training and does sleep through the night after a little soothing to settle in. Like any curious puppy, Chappy is into everything, and she'll need a family who keeps a close eye on her so household items don't accidentally become chew toys. She loves playing, spending time outside, and cuddling — though always on her terms! Chappy gets along great with small dogs and children, though she does get excited and will need reminders that kids aren't fellow puppies to play-wrestle with. With a little guidance, she's going to be an absolute joy. If you're looking for a sweet, spunky pup to grow alongside your family, Chappy might be exactly who you've been waiting for! If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will be in touch! The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *Please note that we are a foster home-based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 10, 2026, 10:08 am

Story
Dean is a young Pointer/Hound mix with a zest for life and a heart full of love. At approximately 1 year old, he’s still very much a puppy at heart—curious, playful, and always ready for his next adventure. Dean is an affectionate boy who never misses an opportunity for cuddles. If you're looking for a dog who believes there’s no such thing as being too close, Dean is your guy. He loves climbing into laps, handing out kisses, and soaking up belly rubs whenever he can. After playtime, you'll often find him curled up beside his favorite people or stretched out dramatically on the couch, completely content. Like many young dogs, Dean is still learning the ropes. He is currently working on basic manners, including commands like sit and nice, and he responds well to positive reinforcement, treats, and consistency. He's smart, eager to please, and enjoys learning new things. Dean absolutely loves other dogs and thrives on canine companionship. Whether he's wrestling with a playmate, following a friend on an adventure, or snuggling up for a nap, he enjoys having a dog buddy around. Cats are still an unknown; while Dean’s intentions seem playful, his enthusiasm may be a bit overwhelming for more laid-back feline friends. Because of his youthful energy and playful spirit, Dean would do best in an active home that can provide regular exercise, continued training, structure, and plenty of affection. In return, he will reward his family with endless entertainment, unwavering loyalty, and more love than you could imagine. If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion who will keep you laughing, keep you active, and always be ready for a cuddle, Dean may be the perfect addition to your family. If you're interested in adopting/meeting this pup, please complete our online adoption application, available here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application. Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $250 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Story
We adopted Hank in 2020 from Hinsdale Humane Society when we were living in the city. Since then our family has grown with three little children and Hank struggles to leave toddler toys and milk sippy cups left alone around our house. Hank is very sweet and loves going on walks, running in our backyard, and laying in the sun. We’d love to find Hank a new home where he can be at ease with lower energy & less little people surrounding him.

Story
Apollo is a sweet boy who is a 2 year old Staffy Mix. He is a big boy weighing close to 90 pounds! Car Rides and Walks are two of his favorite things to do. Apollo has had quite a bit of training, walks very well on a leash, he is house trained, and is now looking for his forever family. Are you looking for a walking buddy or just someone to snuggle up on the couch with you, then fill out an application so you can meet him. Our adoption process is usually quick, but may take up to two weeks. When you find an animal you are interested in, we ask that you fill out an application as a first step so we can determine if your family is a good fit for the animal. If you are, then we will contact you to arrange a time for you and your family to meet the animal so you can decide if it is a good fit. If you currently have dogs, we require that the dogs be present at the meeting to make sure it's a good fit all around. Once compatibility is determined, we move on to the paperwork and finalize the adoption. If the meet is not a good fit, we will keep your application on file for 6 months and we will gladly consider your family for another dog. Story
🐾 Looking for the Right Home for Jack (“Jackie Chan”) 🐾 Jack is around 2 years old and is truly one of the happiest, most lovable dogs you’ll ever meet. He loves EVERYONE — people, kids, dogs, cats — and genuinely does not have a mean bone in his body. He is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and cuddle bug. Jack absolutely LOVES being outside. Long walks, hikes, exploring, running around the yard — he is all in. He would thrive with an active person or family who enjoys being outdoors and including their dog in adventures. Inside the house, he’s a huge snuggler who loves sleeping in, curling up next to you, and being part of the family. He just wants to love and be loved. Now, in full honesty… Jack is also a bit of a goofball and definitely food motivated. If given the opportunity, he may help himself to unattended snacks or investigate the garbage like the tiny raccoon he believes he is. He’s still young, energetic, and playful, and would do best in a active home.
