When I was born, I assure you I didn't want to grow up to be left in a high kill shelter, however, that is what happened to me. LUCKILY, the fates (and some awesome rescue folks) aligned and saved me from certain death and brought me to a safe place where I can find a REAL family and a REAL home. Let me tell you about myself, I am cute, happy, loving, nervous at times, but have the long legs of a pointer! I have lots of energy for running, jumping and playing and I have the handsome chiseled jaw that most actors would love to have! Now if you need a great looking chap, look my way!!! Cami is a sweet, affectionate German Wirehaired Pointer mix looking for her forever home. She came to the shelter through no fault of her own when her owner could no longer care for her, and it`s clear she was loved and well cared for. After being shuffled around a bit, she`s now settling into a foster home, where she`s showing everyone what a wonderful companion she is.Cami is a lover through and through. She adores attention and is always ready to share a kiss or two (or ten). She`s house trained, and doesn`t jump on people (although she does think she`s a lap dog). She`s gentle, smart, and eager to please.She`s also a dream with other dogs. She`s doing great in her foster home with three other dogs, happily letting the resident Chihuahua call all the shots and the two other big resident dogs tell her when she`s overstepped her bounds. Cami is easygoing and submissive, and so far, shows no observable prey drive. She doesn`t react to other dogs, squirrels, or distractions on walks, and she`s even lived calmly (albeit briefly) alongside a turkey! She hasn`t been tested with cats yet, but given her gentle nature, she may do well with a feline friend. While she enjoys canine company, another dog in the home isn`t a must.Cami is an energetic girl who needs plenty of exercise, and she would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She loves chasing balls and brings them right back! She`d be a perfect match for an active person or family who enjoys hiking and time outdoors, and she`s great in the car, so she`s ready to come along on adventures. She does ok in a crate or pen for short periods, but she isn`t a dog who`ll be happy cooped up for hours. She thrives on activity and companionship.Leash walking is still a work in progress, but Cami is food motivated and smart, which makes her highly trainable. She`ll be working on some skills while in foster, and she`ll keep learning quickly with a little consistency from her new family.Because she`s a larger, energetic dog, Cami would do best with older children who are steady on their feet.She`s just started living in a foster home so updates will come as we learn more about her.If you`re looking for a loving, fun, and loyal adventure buddy who will greet you with kisses at the end of every day, Cami might be your girl!

Four Years. That’s a LONG time to wait for a family.  Hi, I’m Bobby, and I’m still waiting for my forever home. Four years ago, my sister Blair and I were found wandering the neighborhood, just two sweet black-and-white pups looking for somewhere safe to belong. A kind person saw us and gave us the chance we needed. I’ve been safe, loved, and cared for ever since—but there’s one thing I’m still missing…My very own person. My best friend. My forever family. I’m a happy, playful boy who loves attention and would absolutely love someone to share life with. I’m ready for adventures, walks, exploring, playing, and then settling in beside my favorite person when the day is done. I have plenty of love to give and would really like someone to give it all to! I’ve made lots of friends over the years and have learned that new people and new dogs can be pretty great. I may have started out a little nervous, but patience and a little time showed me that the world can be a wonderful place. I’m a handsome medium-sized guy with gorgeous black-and-white markings, and I may be a Spaniel/Pointer mix. But honestly, after four years, I don’t care what you call me—as long as you call me yours. I’ve spent four years waiting for someone to choose me.
