You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  ZORROLoki is approx 5yrs old and and 60lbs, housebroken and crate trained.  He enjoys his crate and goes into it when ever he is looking to relax. Loki has been good with other dogs, seems to prefer smaller or female dogs and would do well with an equally playful dog.  He walks well on a leash, would love to agility as he is very athletic and loves to jump. We would recommend Loki in a home without young children and with someone who can provide him structure and consistency. He walks well on the leash and loves time at the beach.   *reduced adoption fee $250*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 6:00 pm

Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  Meet Eleanor! Eleanor is a lovely lady, approximately 2-3 years old, with a heart as warm as her fur. She's not just a dog; she's a testament to resilience and trust. Her journey started in a loud shelter, where she was a new mother to a litter of 8 precious puppies. Eleanor's protective instincts ran deep, making it challenging for her to trust humans. This situation put her and her little ones at risk of euthanasia. But then, a ray of hope shone through when Eleanor found her way to St. Francis Farm. Over time, in the safe and loving environment of the farm, she has made incredible strides in opening up and learning to trust our dedicated staff. Once she feels comfortable, Eleanor transforms into a total mush! It does still take a little time forher to warm up to new faces. We are looking for someone that would be comfortable coming to the farm and getting to know this precious girl. She adores being close to her person and is always eager to earn treats with her impeccable behavior. You'll find her peacefully content in her kennel, only becoming vocal when it's feeding time. Eleanor is a social butterfly among her fellow canine friends, enjoying their company and outdoor playtime. Yet, she equally cherishes those quiet moments when she can curl up in your lap and bask in the affection you share. Eleanor is a true testament to the transformative power of love and care. If you're looking for a loyal companion who'll warm your heart, consider welcoming Eleanor into your life. Come meet her at St. Francis Farm and experience the magic of her journey firsthand. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 6:00 pm

Story
Fiona needs a new foster or foster-to-adopt home. About three years old, Fiona came from a large hoarding situation. She is a shy, gentle girl who needs TLC and time to get comfortable in a home. Fiona loves other dogs and we would like to see her in a home with at least one other dog. The activity level of small children would scare her, so an adult home or one with older children would be ideal. She needs a home with a securely fenced yard, and a family who has experience and patience. To foster or foster-to-adopt Fiona please fill out our application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/foster-application NOTE: Foster or foster-to-adopt families must be located within the state of Connecticut.

Story
Lyla just loves playing with other dogs She's shy with new people and takes a little time to realize you're just a new friend she hasn't met yet - but a few treats and some time and she'll figure it out! She'd love a home with a securely fenced yard (she hasn't figured out leashes yet) and a dog friend or two - and would be happy to live with teenaged children. This sweet girl came from a large hoarding situation and she has come so far! These days she's a happy girl - and is ready and waiting to find her forever home. If that home could be yours, please fill out an application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application

Story
Name: Taki Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Pointer mix Color: White & Black Weight: 16 kg Height (shoulder): 57 cm   Rescue Story Taki entered a municipal shelter in December 2025, wearing a collar, which suggests he may have been abandoned. He was rescued just before euthanasia and transferred to our care in March.   ‍‍ With People Taki is an affectionate and social boy who loves being around people. He happily approaches both familiar and new people, leaning in for pets and attention. He is comfortable being handled and can be picked up by placing arms under his belly. Once he bonds with you, he will even roll over to show his belly.   With Other Dogs Taki is friendly and eager to interact with other dogs. He approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and invite them to play. If other dogs don’t engage, he may bark to express his desire to join in. He tends to be more comfortable with dogs of similar or smaller size and will avoid overly energetic or confrontational dogs. While he enjoys playing with dogs, he generally prefers people over other dogs when given the choice.   With Cats When he sees cats during walks, he shows curiosity but can be redirected easily and follows his handler well. Cat testing is available upon request.   Energy Level Taki has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor activities and playtime, but he settles down nicely afterward. He loves to play, but his stamina is not very high—he often lies down to rest during play sessions.   ‍ Walks Taki is curious and enjoys sniffing, so he tends to move side to side during walks. He may pull occasionally when excited, and he is currently learning to walk calmly beside his handler.   Other Notes   Not possessive over food with people or dogs, but has a strong appetite and may try to take others’ food May show mild separation-related barking at first, but settles down after a while Uses barking to express wants, especially toward other dogs during play Very responsive and perceptive—he reads human emotions well and quickly understands boundaries Calm and quiet in a kennel Rides well in a crate and gets in and out of the car on his own Currently does outdoor potty   Personality Taki is a simple, pure-hearted, and joyful dog who brings warmth and happiness to those around him. His innocent and loving nature makes him incredibly endearing. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram!
