Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Meet Lacie, she’s a 2 year old mix and super loving and friendly with people and dogs. She’s 40 pounds and has a great heart. She would thrive in a home with a fenced in yard and lots of stuff to play with. She’s house trained and crate trained All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.

Pudge is a special guy. He’s unfortunately blind in one eye and may be losing sight in the other. A crummy Texas shelter no place for this guy. He is a very well behaved and chill. Great with other dogs and people. I’m pretty sure kids too but I’m checking on that. Nothing bothers this guy , he adapts to everything. Fully vetted! Vaccinated, neutered, hw-. Pudge needs a break in the worst way. Please consider pudge, he’ll bring love into your home. BE A HERO!!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please note that we can not guarantee the age, expected weight or breed of any animal. What we provide is our best estimates based on our experience and the information provided by the our medical partners. If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  ZORROLoki is approx 5yrs old and and 60lbs, housebroken and crate trained.  He enjoys his crate and goes into it when ever he is looking to relax. Loki has been good with other dogs, seems to prefer smaller or female dogs and would do well with an equally playful dog.  He walks well on a leash, would love to agility as he is very athletic and loves to jump. We would recommend Loki in a home without young children and with someone who can provide him structure and consistency. He walks well on the leash and loves time at the beach.   *reduced adoption fee $250*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 14, 2025, 3:00 pm

If breed and eventual size are of great importance we suggest looking into a breed specific rescue or adopting a full grown animal. Unless otherwise noted, ALL animals are fostered and available for adoption on Long Island, NY.  Meet Eleanor! Eleanor is a lovely lady, approximately 2-3 years old, with a heart as warm as her fur. She's not just a dog; she's a testament to resilience and trust. Her journey started in a loud shelter, where she was a new mother to a litter of 8 precious puppies. Eleanor's protective instincts ran deep, making it challenging for her to trust humans. This situation put her and her little ones at risk of euthanasia. But then, a ray of hope shone through when Eleanor found her way to St. Francis Farm. Over time, in the safe and loving environment of the farm, she has made incredible strides in opening up and learning to trust our dedicated staff. Once she feels comfortable, Eleanor transforms into a total mush! It does still take a little time forher to warm up to new faces. We are looking for someone that would be comfortable coming to the farm and getting to know this precious girl. She adores being close to her person and is always eager to earn treats with her impeccable behavior. You'll find her peacefully content in her kennel, only becoming vocal when it's feeding time. Eleanor is a social butterfly among her fellow canine friends, enjoying their company and outdoor playtime. Yet, she equally cherishes those quiet moments when she can curl up in your lap and bask in the affection you share. Eleanor is a true testament to the transformative power of love and care. If you're looking for a loyal companion who'll warm your heart, consider welcoming Eleanor into your life. Come meet her at St. Francis Farm and experience the magic of her journey firsthand. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 14, 2025, 3:00 pm

Story
Woof (Hi)... My name is Lita! I am an adorable little girl that packs a big punch! I am super athletic; I run, leap and bounce everywhere I go. I am super fast and definitely need someplace that I can safely run around. I am house trained and am ok with living in small spaces, like an apartment, as long as you take me somewhere to play! I love to play with toys - I will collect them all, while I am running around. I am also very sweet, but shy at first. Once we get to know each other, I will be your best friend! I am good with other dogs - even great big ones! I am getting pretty good with the house cat here, too! Please take me home, so I can love you, and be loved! I am currently living in Puerto Rico, but there is a flight that I can take on December 31st to the New York area, and then we can start our New Year together! ***When inquiring about one of our beautiful pups, please be sure to include your phone number. We reply to everyone, but some of our responses are unfortunately being marked as spam, so be sure to check there. You can also message us at 787-456-6746. Thank you!

Story
Fiona needs a new foster or foster-to-adopt home. About three years old, Fiona came from a large hoarding situation. She is a shy, gentle girl who needs TLC and time to get comfortable in a home. Fiona loves other dogs and we would like to see her in a home with at least one other dog. The activity level of small children would scare her, so an adult home or one with older children would be ideal. She needs a home with a securely fenced yard, and a family who has experience and patience. To foster or foster-to-adopt Fiona please fill out our application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/foster-application NOTE: Foster or foster-to-adopt families must be located within the state of Connecticut.
