Story
Boone is ~10-11 months old. He is the sweetest dog, and a Velcro dog by every definition. He will want to follow you everywhere, and personal space is a thing of the past. The reason I’m considering rehoming him is because I recently started a new job, and I’m afraid I’ll be unable to provide him the amount of time and energy he needs. He’s a very high energy dog, and he needs to be able to run and play a lot. Like, a lot. He loves having a job to do. Ideally, he’d be able to live on a farm or somewhere with a lot of land where he has plenty of space to play and run. He’s extremely smart, and loves trying to impress the people around him. He’s also a cuddle bug. He’s an amazing dog - I just wish I had the time to give him the amount of playtime that he truly needs. He is potty trained, however, he is still a puppy, and needs to be taken out a little more often than an adult dog for now.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. YOU MUST COMPLETE A BEST FRIEND PET ADOPTION APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED TO ADOPT POINTER POPPY.  PLEASE APPLY FOR POPPY AT:    https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC        Meet Pointer Poppy—the sweetest, gentlest soul you could ever hope to meet.   Poppy is a low-energy, easygoing girl who just wants to be close to her people. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or going for a stroll, she’s happiest simply being by your side. She’s fully house-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and truly enjoys her daily outings. One of Poppy’s most special qualities is her love for people—she’s incredibly friendly with everyone she meets and absolutely adores children. She’s gentle, affectionate, and has a calm presence that makes her a wonderful companion for families or individuals alike. Poppy is currently living in an apartment and does great in that setting. She’s a quiet dog overall, only barking occasionally if someone knocks or there’s noise outside. She doesn’t need a yard as long as she gets her regular walks and potty breaks. She can happily live as the only dog, but if there is another dog in the home, she prefers calmer companions—especially smaller dogs who match her laid-back vibe. She’s also lived peacefully with cats, making her a great fit for a multi-pet household with the right introductions. Poppy can be left home alone for a few hours at a time (about 4–5 hours), as long as the space is dog-proofed—she’s been known to do a little counter surfing when unsupervised! She does struggle with crate anxiety, so she’ll do best in a home where she can safely stay out of a crate. With her occasional playful bursts and zoomies, Poppy brings just the right mix of fun and calm. But more than anything, she brings love. She is devoted, affectionate, and simply wants a person to call her own. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Poppy is ready to fill your home with warmth, comfort, and unconditional love Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC. Story
Schneider is a strikingly handsome white‑and‑liver pointer mix who weighs in at 37 pounds (underweight tho working on it already) and carries himself like he was born for adventure. With his sleek build and bright, eager expression, he’s the kind of dog who looks forward to a hike with eyes wide, tail wagging, fully committed to the experience ahead. True to his pointer roots, Schneider is high‑energy, intelligent, and always ready for action. He’s searching for a family who can keep his mind and body engaged with either agility courses, long runs, challenging hikes, or any activity that keeps him moving and thinking. He’s friendly with other dogs, loves all people, and has that wonderful mix of independence and loyalty that makes pointers such rewarding companions. If you’re looking for a smart, athletic partner who will happily join you in an active lifestyle and become a devoted member of your daily routine, Schneider is ready to meet you. Don’t miss your chance to bring this energetic, affectionate boy home!
