Story
Meet Lobo! Lobo is an almost 8-year-old, 50 pound Pointer mix looking for a soft place to land in his prime years. Lobo was adopted as a puppy and returned to Louie's when his family lost everything they owned. No worries though, because this guy is amazingly easy to take care of and his foster mom has enjoyed getting to know him! Lobo is a laid back guy whose favorite thing to do is cuddle up next to his humans. He loves laying next to foster mom on the couch for a long snooze and some head scratches. Lobo also loves leisurely walk, however this is not necessary for this low key guy. He will be the best copilot when traveling in the car and is always ready for a long ride looking at the scenery as well. Lobo was very loved by everyone in his first family and grew up with the youngest child as her permanent sidekick. Lobo is also great with medium to large size dogs! Lobo deserves his next family to be as loving as his first! Could that be you? Apply today and give him the happiest boy in his prime years! His adoption fee is $275. To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Every once in a while we meet a dog whose capacity to love humans unconditionally amazes us. TIPSTER is one of those dogs. This guy loves every single human despite nearly dying due to neglect. He was found chained behind a doghouse, unable to even seek shelter inside the doghouse, and nearly starved to death. Thankfully a good samaritan tipped off animal control and Tipster was confiscated and taken to a shelter where he started his recovery. We agreed to take this boy in and find him a home where he'll never have to wonder where his next meal will come from or endure a storm or freezing cold with no shelter. Tipster is an English Pointer-type mix, probably 3-4 years old and 50 lbs. When Tipster sees a friend he zooms and leaps and twirls for joy and then he checks your pockets for treats. Then he will melt into you for pets and ear rubbies. Tipster would love a home with a physically-fenced yard where he can zoom and play. We'd like to find Tipster a home where he will be an only dog and won't feel he has to compete for food or attention. He's not aggressive, but after what he's been through, we want to place him in a home where he will get all of the treats and all of the attention and finally feel safe and loved. Tipster needs to work on his manners but he's a very smart boy who learns quickly and is understandably very food motivated. You'll be hard-pressed to find a dog who will love you more than Tipster. If you're interested in exploring a co-dependent relationship with wonderful Tipster, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. Story
Jeppo loves affection and attention and is a sweet boy. He has a lot of energy and would do well in a home with a fenced yard or space to run and play. He lets you know when it’s time to use the bathroom and is on a schedule with feeding. He is good when crated and would do well with an individual owner or family.

My name is Bobby and I am so proud of it! See, I was found with my sister Blair and we had NO identity!! Just a couple of cute black and white pups running in the neighborhood :( Luckily, a nice lady saw us and decided we NEEDED to be saved :) AND SHE SAVED US :) I LOVE patience and PERSISTENCE!! So we arrived at the rescue nervous but quickly adjusted to the routine, new doggy friends and all kinds of new people friends! I love playing with my friends, I am a good and playful boy at 1 yrs old. I think I am a Pointer/lab mix?? My markings are gorgeous!! I am a great medium size and most of all, I will TURN heads when you take me out with you on adventures. You cannot ask for more than that! EXCEPT, a new best buddy named BOBBY!!! See you soon!!! Story
Have you ever heard of the it girl, Blair Waldorf? Well here she is! This diamond of the season will steal your heart away with every wink of her eye and wag of her tail. Her gorgeous black and white coat shines like jewels everyday. Blair enjoys being brushed and petted by her family members, so she knows shes loved and cared for. Blair is a 2-year old, female, pointer mix. She is medium-sized (20-59lbs). Blair is a very energetic dog given her breed group! She will need lots of play time, tug'of'war and more to keep her healthy happy and content. Blair does not work well with younger children and should be in a household with older children only. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
