If you’re reading this, we here in the rescue already know you’re a special person. It takes a very special, kind, loving, extremely caring person to consider adopting an adult/senior dog. The world needs more people like you and dogs like Gunnar need people like you. Gunner’s family has decided they would like to rehome him through no fault of his own. Gunner might be a little set in his ways, but who isn’t at this age? Gunner would be great with an older couple, no other dogs and not lots of small kids in and out. He is not a huge fan of little dogs. He hasn’t ever bitten anyone or anything, but has snapped at some smaller dogs who get on his nerves 😂. We could easily put you in touch with his current family and they can tell you all about him if interested. This guy just needs a great home to live out the rest of his days and in and a family that won’t turn their back on him again. Once adopted, Gunner will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to his new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. She is currently living with a professional dog trainer. She is house trained and just a wonderful little girl. Very loving and loyal. She’s pretty good on a leash, but there’s still working on leash training a bit. She seems very intelligent as she studies people. She’s looking for that human to be her forever person so that she could dedicate all of her love and loyalty to you! Her foster mom would love to talk to you to tell you all about this delightful little girl. She is being fostered through Ozark Homeward Bound and Harrison, Arkansas. Please meet Zachary! Zachary is a stunning 4 month old pointer mix who is currently being fostered with 3 adult dogs and one foster puppy. Zachary found himself as a stray on the streets of rural Cleveland, Mississippi, and we believe at one point he was someone's pet. Although he was very malnourished, Zachary is still very sociable and well adapted, and we think he may have known "sit" already. How anyone could dump this gem of a boy is beyond us. Zachary is as good as it gets! Zachary spent a short time at the shelter and was fortunately spotted by Mercer Animal Rescue, and he won them over with his sweet and happy nature. He was rescued with his foster brother "Hugo" and the two get along swimmingly. Zachary does very well in his crate, he's perfect in the car, he loves children and dogs. He is smart and affectionate, he loves to be with his people, but is also content to pick up his favorite toy and go plop down in his kennel and chill out. Zachary loves tug of war with his dog friends, and is doing fabulously with his potty training and crate training. He does well on a leash for a puppy his age, and his stunning green eyes are absolutely hypnotic. He charms everyone he meets with his happy, sweet and fun loving personality. Zachery loves water and is very good off leash - he is a hiker/campers dream. Zachary's life started out on a rough note, but those days are over. We can't wait to see where he lands and we are so happy for his new lease on life!

Story
Princess was surrendered to a rescue when her owner could no longer care for her. She was living in a bad situation and kept in a crate most of the time. Before this, she was raised with her owner and had exposure to grandchildren and some family, but Princess was not socialized outside of the home. She came to the rescue very frightened of everything and everyone, she was almost feral (wild) in her behaviors. She slowly came out of her shell and learned that noone was going to hurt her - now she is happy, playful and full of personality with everyone she knows. She is still fearful of strangers, but with patience and time we know she will very quickly learn to trust a new person and become a wonderful family dog for someone very lucky.
