Meet Bluey! Adoption Fee: $449 Adoption Application - Copy & Paste https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 If you're looking for a loyal best friend with a calm, loving personality, Bluey is your guy. At about 4.5 years old and 90 pounds, this handsome boy is the definition of a gentle giant. He's affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when he's surrounded by the people he loves. Bluey has wonderful house manners and gets along beautifully with everyone he meets. He loves children, is great with other dogs, does well with cats, and has the kind of sweet, gentle temperament that makes everyone fall in love with him. Whether he's enjoying playtime in the yard, going for a walk, or simply relaxing beside you, Bluey is just happy to be included. He's a joyful, loving dog who is ready to be a devoted member of a family. Bluey's journey to rescue is one well never forget. For years, Bluey lived alone in a small outdoor shed through the scorching summer heat and freezing winter cold. One of our rescue volunteers couldn't bear to see him living that way. She pleaded with his owner to let him go, even offering to buy him. She contacted Animal Control, brought him gifts, and refused to give up hope. After countless attempts, the owner finally agreed, and Bluey was set free. Today, Bluey is thriving in the very foster home of the woman who never stopped fighting for him. She's watched him blossom into the happy, confident dog he was always meant to be, and now it's time for Bluey to find the forever family he's waited so long to have. After everything he's endured, Bluey deserves a lifetime of love, soft beds, belly rubs, and people who will cherish him as much as he will cherish them. If you're ready to welcome this incredible boy into your heart and home, submit your adoption application today. Bluey has waited long enough for his happily ever after—now all he needs is you. Here's the adoption application, please copy & paste. https://forms.gle/FmtRtYxQNnemdkdw9 Paws of Dixie Animal Rescue adopts local and in the New England area. Our adoption fee includes the spay/neuter, up to date shots, Microchip, Alabama Health Certificate, and the transport service to get the new family pet to you. PDAR.info@gmail.com COMPLETED APPLICATIONS TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER INQUIRIES. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. Please be advised that our volunteers are busy rescuing, transporting, and caring for our animals. We will respond to your application as soon as possible. Upon review of your application, the rescue in AL will contact you, so you can ask any specific questions that you may have. NOTE: All Paws of Dixie animals are located in AL foster homes. Story
Peggy is a petite girl weighing a whopping 25 lbs! She is approximately 1.5 years old. This gentle girl absolutely loves other dogs; big and small. She is currently being fostered in a sanctuary in south Texas, along the Texas/Mexico border. This amazing sanctuary is only a short term stop for this fur-baby until their forever home is found. Peggy was found in January of 2026 in a cemetery with about 12+ other dogs. She was fending for herself, finding food, water and shelter where and when she could. Peggy was the smallest of the bunch, so she was probably picked on a lot more than the other doggies. She is much calmer than the other dogs at the sanctuary. Peggy likes to play, but she also likes to just sit back and watch everyone else cause trouble. She will run along side of them, with sometimes joining in the rough housing. She likes to ref the other dogs by barking at them playing. Peggy would be great for a calmer household – play in the backyard with another dog and her toys. She is working on her leash training – she is crate trained. Peggy loves playing in the water and laying in the kiddy pool, cooling off. If you want a small doggy to stay by your side, to cuddle with and to enjoy the nice days outside – Peggy is a wonderful choice. Peggy is fixed (spayed/neutered), heart worm positive (they have received the 30-day course of antibiotics and need to stay on heart worm prevention for 12-16 months and be retested then), current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport. PLEASE READ BELOW: To apply to adopt you can go to our website at: www.pawsitive-Impact-animal-rescue.org This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals out in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We ONLY do adopt in Central US and the East Coast. The adoption fee listed ($495) INCLUDES transport from Texas to the Northeast. Transport goes to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany, NY – Only one transport company goes here, once a month Wells, VT and Brattleboro, VT Nashua, NH – Only one transport company goes here, times vary Willington, CT - Stamford, CT - Dayville, CT Steubenville, OH – Cincinnati, OH – Grove City, OH Grove City, PA and Washington, PA – THESE STOPS ARE PENDING Ridgefield, NJ and Mt Laurel, NJ Emmitsburg, MD and Elkton, MD Falls Church, VA and Glenn Allen, VA We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is best fit for your home. With an approved application, we do put you in touch with the Texas foster who has the doggy for you to make sure the pup is the perfect fit.

She is low energy and loves snuggling on the couch when invited. She is also affectionate and likes getting lots of pets. Dottie is good with dogs but is not really interested in playing with them. She likes kids and is likely good with cats as she has not shown any prey drive in her foster home. She has been working on "sit" and it is still in progress, but she is very food motivated so should learn quickly.Dottie is fully house trained and crate trained. She sleeps quietly in her crate all night and also if crated during the day. She walks well on a leash in quiet neighborhoods, but is not a fan of busy streets with lots of traffic.Dottie is a quiet, gentle and loving dog. She has so much love to give her new family - could yours be her perfect match? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted. Story
BEING FOSTERED IN CT This cute little boy with brilliant blue eyes is full of fun and ready to share it with you! He is a typical puppy.... loves to meet new people, loves to play with other dogs, loves his toys, loves to snuggle and loves to give kisses. He is one big love bug! Luke is also very treat motivated, so should easily learn what you would like to teach him. Luke's foster mom says "He LOVES to play ball outside. He goes and goes, but when we come inside, will settle right down on the floor or sofa for a nap or grab a bone or another toy. Luke is a fan of car rides and all the smells that accompany them and seems to treat every new experience as the best adventure ever! He is so wiggly and cute when greeting you. We are working on keeping paws on the ground, and on being a better leash walker right now." Luke is about 8 months old and 35lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vetting, microchipped, house trained and crate trained. If you would like to make Luke a part of your family email bigyellowgoose018@gmail.com for an application.

Story
Kevin Henson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Hey there! I’m Kevin, the life of the party and a pointer mix with a personality as big as my love for life! Weighing in at a solid 65 pounds, I’m a playful, goofy guy who can’t get enough of toys, treats, and being in the thick of the action. I’m all grown up, so no surprises in size. I’m a smart pup, super eager to learn, and food is my ultimate motivator, making me a training superstar (that’s what my friends at the rescue tell me)! I’m a social butterfly, always ready to meet new friends and spread joy. I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and up for any adventure, whether it’s zooming around outside or chilling with my favorite humans. With my size and energy, a house with a fenced-in backyard would be my dream come true, where I can run wild and free! I do get a bit excited on leash in super busy spots (like adoption events), so I’m looking for someone patient and consistent who can give me the love and structure I need. With a little time and continued training, I promise I will be the best companion ever! If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Be sure to check our Facebook page "Rhode Home Rescue" for details on upcoming events and other announcements.    April 12, 2026, 7:36 pm
