Story
Meet Willie, an adult (approx. 8 years old) neutered male Chihuahua mix, weighing about 12 lbs!  Willie arrived in CT on 5/30. We are accepting applications on him now! Willie can do a 1 week foster to adopt trial with an approved adopter so you can see how he settles in before committing to adoption. Willie is a very sweet, friendly boy who is happiest on your lap and he LOVES to give kisses! He is great with other dogs, people, and kids.  His foster said, "Willie is pretty spry for his age, he loves to run and play with other dogs! He's the sweetest Chihuahua I've ever met. Already opening up and being affectionate after only a few hours." Willie is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special pup today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2739529##

Story
Meet Linden, a handsome ~2-3 year old chihuahua/small terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs! Linden was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in Kentucky along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Sycamore, etc.). He is currently being fostered in CT and is ready to find his furever home!  Linden is a shy/nevous boy who takes some time to trust and warm up to new people. He wants so badly to connect with people, but he is scared and unsure. Once he knows you are safe, he is very sweet! He is looking for someone who will be patient with him and give him a little time and space to come to them on his own terms. Linden is good with other dogs, cats (he ignores them), people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to his nervous/timid nature). From Linden's current foster:  "Linden is making great progress! Although he remains a bit shy, he has shown remarkable improvement and is such a sweet pup. We’ve started teaching him some basic commands, focusing on "come" and "sit." He understands "come," but we're still working on "sit." He’s fantastic on the leash, enjoys his walks and recently enjoyed trips to Petco and Home Depot, he was a bit scared at first but did great. He definitely likes the company of another small/medium dog." He is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while acclimating to a new environment/routine), and crate trained. Apply to meet this special boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable.
