Story
Looks like: Pomeranian mix Male, 12 years old (estimated), 15 pounds Yeti may not climb mountains, but this fluffy boy will climb right into your heart! This adorable senior gentleman is gentle, loving, and as sweet as can be. With his soft coat and soulful eyes, he's the perfect snuggle buddy for cozy nights and quiet mornings. Yeti moves through life at an easy pace. He's not much for long walks, but he definitely loves treats, belly rubs, and just being near his favorite people. He's great with other dogs and enjoys their company, but his favorite spot will always be right next to you. He's looking for a peaceful, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness, comfort, and plenty of snacks. Yeti joined us from Contra Costa Animal Services. Due to his senior status and their constraints for space, they felt he would do best in a senior focused rescue to find his forever family.

Story
Looks like: Pomeranian Male, 11 years old (estimated), 12 pounds Meet Yankee Candle, a distinguished senior Pomeranian with enough fluff to make a pillow jealous. Yankee Candle has mastered the art of the leisurely stroll, the power nap, and supervising snack time like a true connoisseur. He may not bark much, but when he does, it's with style and definitely for decorative purposes. Think of him as a living, breathing, four-legged scented candle: comforting, charming, and impossible to ignore. Yankee Candle is looking for a forever home where he can retire in comfort and style. He dreams of a life filled with cozy laps, soft blankets, and humans who appreciate the fine art of senior dog snuggles. If you're ready for a lifetime of warmth, laughter, and fluff, Yankee Candle is the perfect addition to light up your life, no flame required. This handsome boy joined us after the San Jose Animal Care Center reached out about placing him in a more senior focused rescue.

Check him out if you're looking for your next pet photographer. https://www.markrogersphotography.com/   Adoption Fee: $750 Meet Boogey! The Bashful Boogeyman    When rescuers first discovered Boogey a 1 year old pomeranian/ dachshund mix among 75 dogs in a haunted hoarding house, he was more ghost than ghoul. He was silent, shy, and avoiding all signs of life. For the first few days in foster care, Boogey practiced his best invisibility spell by cowering in corners and pretending he wasn’t there. But like any good Halloween story… The Boogeyman rose again! Now this bashful boy has transformed into a total Velcro vampire! Wherever you go he is right behind, the couch, desk, kitchen, Boogey is your devoted shadow, silently following you like a spooky specter with excellent manners. He’s not big on full-on cuddles (too mortal for his taste), but head and belly scratches? He’ll take those until your hand falls off. Boogey isn’t much of a treat-taker, he’s too refined for such earthly pleasures but he’ll gladly lick water from your fingertips like a tiny canine ghoul sipping from a bubbling cauldron. He’s curious and respectful, keeping watch like a loyal familiar and making sure everyone (from grown witches to little goblins) passes his “safe human” test. When not patrolling the graveyard (aka backyard), Boogey can be found lounging on his pad, gazing into the void (or just the window) and contemplating the mysteries of the universe, like why his turkey tendon chew keeps fighting back. His favorite toy? A kibble-filled toilet paper roll, which he flings around like it’s possessed. Walks are his favorite part of the night, he loves to sniff out secrets and inspect every tree, mailbox, and mysterious rustling bush. At first, he thought his leash was some kind of cursed serpent and tried to banish it with a few nibbles, but now he’s learning the rhythm of the living world: sniff, stroll, and repeat. Boogey’s house-training and crate spells are still in progress, but he’s conjuring up progress every day. His crate is now his cozy crypt, where he naps, dreams, and recharges for his next haunting adventure.  So if you’re looking for a loyal little Boogeyman to haunt your home (in the best way), Boogey’s your guy, gentle, goofy, and always just one ghostly step behind you. November 13, 2025, 8:05 pm

To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption Fee: $750   Crackerjack is a 4 year old Pomeranian ready to take you out to the ballgame and then follow you home! Crackerjack was rescued from the shelter by one of our amazing volunteers who picked him up and saved him from an overcrowded kennel. We don’t know how this gorgeous gentleman ended up in the shelter, but we know that his future is looking fabulous. Crackerjack weighs 10 pounds and is just the most handsome dude in the entire world if you ask us! Crackerjack is so excited to meet you and start his fabulous second chapter.    Crackerjack is a smart, spirited, and endlessly affectionate little guy who has come such a long way since first joining his foster home. When he first arrived, he was anxious and unsure. But with time, patience, and love, Crackerjack has blossomed into a joyful, confident pup who adores playtime, cuddles, and being part of his people’s daily routine.   Crackerjack starts his mornings bright and early around 6 a.m. with a quick walk and some playtime before breakfast at 8. While his foster parents are away during the day, he relaxes at home. When they return, he’s ready for a nice long walk and a lively game with his beloved panda bear toy — he’ll happily play as long as you can keep up! After dinner around 6 p.m. and one more quick evening stroll around 9 or 10, he’s ready to settle in and sleep soundly through the night.   Crackerjack is full of verve and enthusiasm — he loves to run, play, and explore. On walks, he’s curious about everything and wants to sniff every interesting smell. He’s friendly with small dogs but tends to be a bit intimidated by larger ones. He doesn’t bark much, only letting out a few sounds if he feels something’s not quite right.   What really sets Crackerjack apart, though, is his affectionate, loving nature. He’s a total cuddle bug who loves attention and snuggles — and he’ll do his best to convince you that the best place for him to sleep is right next to you! He’s also incredibly smart and caring, with a heart that’s as big as his personality.   Crackerjack would do best in a home where his people can spend good quality time with him each day — someone who appreciates his zest for life and will shower him with the companionship he craves. He’s a truly special boy who will reward his forever family with endless love, laughter, and loyalty.   And one more thing — Crackerjack has a hilarious obsession with pizza! His foster family never gives him any, but the moment pizza appears, he jumps so high they’re convinced he could win a competition for it. It’s just one of the many ways this funny, lovable guy keeps everyone smiling.   If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion who will melt your heart every single day, Crackerjack is your guy.November 14, 2025, 11:03 pm

After grooming photo to come. More info. to come from his Foster Home. Oct 31 Foster Home Update: Simba is a wonderful easy-going boy who’s as gentle as he is loving. He is house broken and has great manners. He enjoys attention and is always happy to be around people. Simba is polite and friendly with both dogs and humans and he loves to make new friends. He can be playful when it’s time for fun but also calm and relaxed when it’s time to unwind. He walks beautifully on leash — no pulling — making every stroll a joy. Story
We rescued Arlo who was at a city shelter since the end of August. He was running out of time and the shelter is over-crowded. He was deemed rescue-only because he is smart and didn’t want to walk back into shelter cage after play yard and growled. He talks. At the shelter he was in a cage with 2 other dogs for 23 hours per day. In play yard fine with other small dogs. He was curious of feral cats in parking lot but only looked and did not lunge. Listened to handler. Loves treats. Fine meeting our transporter being petted and going into his crate. Quiet during hour long car ride. At his experienced hero foster home and groomer he is doing fine. Sniffing and exploring with her 3 small social dogs in their yard and inside home. More info to come from his hero foster home as he relaxes. Welcome Arlo! 11/9/25: Doing well with foster home's 3 dogs. Friendly and curious of home and yard. He did try to guard (growled) his sofa space from people telling him off. So no sofa or bed space til he learns not to guard his space and should stay off furniture for now.November 10, 2025, 1:16 pm
