Wesley is a 2-year-old, 15-pound orange Pomeranian with a soft heart and an easygoing personality. He came to us from the Weslaco shelter after his previous owners surrendered him for digging out of their yard. He hasn’t done any digging in foster care and seems much more interested in being close to his people than in landscaping. When Wesley arrived, he was covered in fleas and ticks, but he has been fully treated and is now feeling so much better. He also completed fast kill heartworm treatment and did beautifully through it. Wesley is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves being near his person. If you’re on the couch, he would very much like to be there too. He sleeps in a dog bed at night but would likely be thrilled to upgrade to a spot in your bed. He doesn’t bark much, but he will whimper and whine when he wants something, which honestly just makes him sound like a big baby. He gets along well with other dogs and has started to play with them. He will chase a cat if it runs, but otherwise ignores them. He’s easy to handle, does well with grooming, walks nicely on a harness and leash, and rides quietly in a crate in the car. He potties outside as long as he’s taken out regularly and has been good with his foster’s grandchildren, the youngest being 11.
