Story
Dexter is an older guy, somewhere around 8–10 years old, about 13 pounds, and honestly just an easy dog to love. He was found as a stray and never reclaimed, which is hard to understand once you meet him because he’s friendly, sweet, and seems happy to be wherever his people are. Dexter is the kind of dog who fits right into your life without needing much from you. He walks nicely on a leash, rides great in the car, and loves tagging along for errands or trips. At home, he’s quiet and content, perfectly happy lounging nearby and keeping you company. He’s affectionate without being demanding and has that calm, steady presence that makes everything feel a little more relaxed. He came into rescue heartworm positive, went through fast kill treatment like a champ, and is now fully cleared. He’s also had an extensive dental and is feeling really good. Overall, he’s in great shape and ready to enjoy a comfortable, loved life. Dexter is fully vetted, including a full exam, neuter, dental, vaccinations, deworming, and fecal testing. He is current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. If you’re looking for a dog who doesn’t need training marathons or constant entertainment, just a couch, a few walks, and someone to sit near, Dexter might be your guy. Dexter is located in Houston, TX, and his adoption fee is $300. Apply to adopt at www.tpsrescue.com

Story
Da Vinci is a 4-year-old, 10-pound orange and white parti Pomeranian with a gentle soul and a sweetness that shows the moment he settles into your arms. He arrives a bit timid, but once he feels safe he becomes the most devoted little snuggle buddy. He loves being close, cuddling in bed, and following his person from room to room with quiet affection. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and does well with cats too. His personality is soft, calm, and easygoing, and he fits into a home without any fuss. Da Vinci is still learning about life outside of a breeder environment, so patience and routine will help him continue building confidence. Like many dogs new to home life, he is working on leash manners and potty training. He does best with structure, gentle encouragement, and a predictable routine. With time, he will thrive under the care of someone who enjoys offering steady guidance and lots of love. If you are looking for a snuggly companion who warms up into a loyal little shadow, Da Vinci is your boy. Da Vinci is fully vetted, including a full exam, neuter, dental, vaccinations, deworming, and fecal testing. He is current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Da Vinci is fostered in College Station, TX, and his adoption fee is $550. Apply to adopt at www.tpsrescue.com .

Story
Wesley is a 2-year-old, 15-pound orange Pomeranian with a soft heart and an easygoing personality. He came to us from the Weslaco shelter after his previous owners surrendered him for digging out of their yard. He hasn’t done any digging in foster care and seems much more interested in being close to his people than in landscaping. When Wesley arrived, he was covered in fleas and ticks, but he has been fully treated and is now feeling so much better. He also completed fast kill heartworm treatment and did beautifully through it. Wesley is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves being near his person. If you’re on the couch, he would very much like to be there too. He sleeps in a dog bed at night but would likely be thrilled to upgrade to a spot in your bed. He doesn’t bark much, but he will whimper and whine when he wants something, which honestly just makes him sound like a big baby. He gets along well with other dogs and has started to play with them. He will chase a cat if it runs, but otherwise ignores them. He’s easy to handle, does well with grooming, walks nicely on a harness and leash, and rides quietly in a crate in the car. He potties outside as long as he’s taken out regularly and has been good with his foster’s grandchildren, the youngest being 11. Wesley is fully vetted, including a full exam, neuter, dental, vaccinations, deworming, and fecal testing. He is current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Wesley is fostered in Houston, TX, and his adoption fee is $650. Apply to adopt at www.tpsrescue.com

Story
Lighta is a 4-year-old, 8-pound sweetheart with a gentle spirit and a shy charm that slowly blossoms into devotion. She can be skittish and timid at first, but once she decides you are safe, she becomes a little shadow who wants to stay close and be part of your day. She does well with other dogs, is fine with cats, and has been good with kids. Lighta is kennel trained and comfortable settling in her crate. She is not leash trained yet and is still learning the ropes of potty training. She currently uses potty pads, and her foster is working on outdoor training, but this will be an area her adopter will need to continue focusing on with patience and consistency. Lighta is a sweet girl who thrives on routine and reassurance. She can be somewhat vocal, so she may be better suited for a home rather than apartment living. With time, structure, and a calm environment, she has the potential to become a deeply loyal and loving companion. Lighta is fully vetted, including a full exam, spay, dental, vaccinations, deworming, and fecal testing. She is current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Lighta has a mild luxating patella in her left knee, Grade 2 out of 4, while her right knee is normal. This is not causing her any issues but should be monitored over time. Lighta is located in College Station, TX, and her adoption fee is $650. Apply to adopt at www.tpsrescue.com

Story
TINY DOG WITH A BIG PERSONALITY  DOB 10/9/21, weight 10 # Hey there, everyone! I’m Mochi, a very affectionate, friendly, and lively white Japanese Spitz/ Pomeranian mix gal who promises to be your ideal companion since I combine a tiny body with my big personality. My glorious fluffy coat and feathered tail are almost as attractive as my cheerful, eager-to-please personality. I'm a bright, alert, high-energy girl who's always ready for a walk or playtime. My previous owners kept me living outdoors, where I felt abandoned and ignored. Since I’m obviously a sociable pooch who loves people, a Good Samaritan noticed my sad situation and inquired about me. My owners admitted that they didn’t have time to care for me and agreed to surrender me to HOPE. Thank heavens my foster mom gives me plenty of the attention that I deserve, but unfortunately I struggle with separation anxiety if I’m left alone for long periods. I’m working on overcoming the scars of my past emotional abuse, and I’m grateful for the friendship of the resident small dogs and cats who keep me company while Foster Mom is at work. I’m kennel-trained and working on my housebreaking. Now I’m ready to be the loyal, devoted companion of my forever family, which can include kids who are old enough to know the difference between a toy dog and a toy. With my active, high-spirited demeanor and affinity for hoomans, could I be your next perky pet? I can’t wait to show you my high intelligence when I master tricks, puzzles, and games with ease. Arrange to meet me today! HOPE ID D26-0124-0004 Mochi’s $200 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for heartworms, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment for heartworms and fleas. To apply online:http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Mochi will be this weekend, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com, and a volunteer will get back to you.
