Story
Elle, also known as “Eleven,” is a 6-year-old Pomeranian with a big personality and an even bigger love for her people. She currently weighs about 15 pounds but should be under 10, so she’s on a structured weight loss plan and already making great progress toward a healthier, more active life. Elle is incredibly sweet, friendly, and loves people of all ages. She enjoys being near her person, happily following along throughout the day, but she also appreciates having her own cozy spot to retreat to, whether that’s a dog bed, the couch, or a chair. When she wants attention, she makes it known with enthusiastic kisses in exchange for pets and belly rubs. She gets along well with other dogs and is starting to show more interest in playing, though she still prefers interacting with her people. Around food, she can be a bit opportunistic and will try to sneak bites or investigate other dogs’ meals, so mealtimes should be supervised and structured. She is very food motivated and will happily hunt for anything that hits the floor, so consistency with her diet will be important for her continued success. Elle walks nicely on leash, enjoys time in the yard, and rides well in the car. She may bark briefly when you leave, just to let you know she has opinions about it, but settles well afterward. She sleeps in her own bed at night and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She is currently on a strict feeding plan and will need an adopter committed to maintaining her routine, including measured meals and healthy treat options like small pieces of fruits and vegetables. Elle previously had a recessed vulva, which has been surgically corrected, and she has recovered well. Elle is fully vetted, including a full exam, spay, dental, vaccinations, deworming, and fecal testing. She is current on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. ~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Meet Arctic Blue — a breathtaking one-year-old Pomsky with a snowy white coat and the most striking ice-blue eyes you’ve ever seen. At about 15 pounds, he’s the perfect medium-small size for someone wanting a “big dog look” in a little package. Arctic Blue can be fearful at first meeting new people. He needs a day or two to observe, process, and decide you’re safe — but once he does, he truly warms up and bonds beautifully. Patience is key with this boy, and he will reward you with loyalty and sweetness. He does have a bite history related to a traumatic grooming experience in his past. However, with calm handling and trust-building, he allowed me to groom him without issue. This tells us so much about his ability to overcome fear when he feels safe and respected. The good stuff (and there’s a lot of it!): Knows SIT and DOWN Walks beautifully on a leash Loves playing with other young dogs Respectful and appropriate with senior dogs Appears mostly house-trained Uses the doggie door like a pro Generally quiet, but will “use his voice” if he wants something to change He will bark initially if crated and wants out, but settles after a bit and will sleep quietly through the night. Arctic Blue would thrive in a home that understands he needs a gentle introduction to new situations. A confident canine companion could be a big plus for him. Because of his history, we will be looking for an adopter who is patient, experienced, and willing to continue building his confidence in a positive, fear-free way. Due to his bite history, he will not be adopted to families with children. If you’re looking for a stunning, intelligent, playful companion — and you have the heart to give a sensitive dog the understanding he deserves — Arctic Blue may just be your perfect match. -- Where did he come from: Sadly he was surrendered to a rural shelter in Arkansas after biting his owners during a traumatic grooming incident. 🐾 Meet Joel! 🐾 Joel is a 7-month-old purebred Pomeranian who weighs about 10 pounds of pure fluff and sweetness. This adorable little guy has a happy personality and loves making new friends wherever he goes. Joel is very sweet and friendly, and he gets along great with other dogs. He’s playful, curious, and always ready for fun, whether that’s exploring the yard, playing with his dog buddies, or soaking up attention from his favorite people. At just 7 months old, Joel is still a puppy with lots of love to give and plenty of happy moments ahead with his forever family. His fluffy coat, bright personality, and affectionate nature make him the perfect little companion. Joel is neutered, up to date on all his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped, so he’s fully ready to start his new life with a loving family. Like most puppies his age, Joel will need continued training and guidance in his new home. He is not fully house trained yet, so his future family should be prepared to work on potty training and basic puppy manners.
