Luna was found as a stray and brought to Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. Fortunately, she had a registered microchip, allowing shelter staff to connect with her owner. He shared that Luna had gotten out a few days earlier, but he was in the process of moving into a senior living facility and was unable to come for her. He made the decision to surrender Luna to the shelter, hoping she would find a loving new home. We welcomed 9-year-old Luna as a Frosted Face on September 24th. Soon after, she went on a two-week Frosted Fling where she received lots of love and attention in the comfort of a home while we learned more about her. Luna's foster family had many wonderful things to share about her: "Luna is a super friendly, cuddly pug mix who loves nothing more than being close to her humans. She's a quiet girl who doesn't usually bark at outside noises or visitors at the door, and has a lovely, easygoing personality. She responds to her name and sits on command. Luna loves going on short walks, especially along the dog beach, and is friendly with people and dogs of all shapes and sizes. She hasn't had any known exposure to cats, but based on her gentle, friendly nature, we think she may do well with them, too. One of Luna's funny little quirks is her love of mini carrots. They're her favorite healthy snack, and she'll proudly carry them around to show them off before eventually settling down to crunch away. She's not much of a ball girl, but she does love playing with her soft toys! She's also a huge fan of pats and snuggles, and if she had her way, she'd spend most of her day burrowed under a blanket or sheet. While she loves being near her humans, she's also perfectly happy curled up in her own little bed beside you while you work or watch TV. Luna is making progress with being left alone, although she'll need a little patience and support to feel more comfortable when her humans are out. She can become anxious and occasionally howl or give a few little barks, but she's on her way to know that being home alone is nothing to worry about. Luna is great with her toileting and has good bladder control when taken outside every few hours. She's also very good at using pee pads if needed. At night, she's been a little spoiled and sleeps on the bed with is, although during the day she's more than happy to settle into her own bed so we imagine she is flexible with this. With her affectionate, friendly nature and adaptable personality, we think Luna could fit beautifully into many different homes. She'd love a family who enjoys a cuddle, a few short adventures, and can give her a little reassurance as she continues building confidence being on her own."
