Story
Meet Dillinger: A Gentle Soul Finding His Brave 💚 Age: 1 Year Weight: Under 20 lbs Status: Crate & Potty Trained Dillinger is the definition of "worth the wait." This sweet boy traveled all the way from a vet clinic in Mexico to find his forever family, and he is making incredible strides every single day. While he may start off a little shy, once he knows he’s safe, he transforms into the most affectionate, cuddly companion you could ask for. His Personality: Dillinger is a gentle soul who is currently blossoming. He is learning how to play and is discovering that the world is a fun, kind place. He is a "velvet dog" who thrives on physical affection—if you’re looking for a dedicated snuggle buddy to keep your lap warm, Dillinger is your man. Social Life & Training • Dogs: He does very well with other dogs! He would be happy as an only dog or would thrive with a confident "big brother or sister" to show him the ropes. • Children: He is slowly and gently learning to trust kids. • The Basics: Dillinger is already crate and potty trained, making his transition into a home much smoother. • Confidence Building: He is currently working on his leash skills. New environments can be a little intimidating for him, so he’s looking for a patient human who will lead with positive reinforcement. The Ideal Home 🏠 Dillinger would do best in a home that understands the "slow and steady" approach. He needs a family that will celebrate his small victories—like the first time he initiates play or walks confidently down a new block. In return, you’ll get the loyalty and love of a dog who truly appreciates being rescued. Ready to help Dillinger continue his journey? Dillinger is ready to leave his shell behind and move into your heart. Apply to meet this resilient, sweet boy today!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Foster or forever home wanted, meet Pugsy Malone! Pugsy came into the Long Beach shelter as a stray on June 18th with no collar, tag and no microchip. Pugsy had a rather large ulcerated mass on his neck so we put him on our radar knowing he'd need help and fast. We contacted the shelter to express interest and asked if we could pull ahead of his available date of June 25th because we were concerned the mass would rupture. They approved it as a foster, so we were set to pull him on Monday 6/22. Low and behold, we get a message Sunday night that the mass had indeed ruptured and he was considered critical. We proceeded with our plan to exit him from the shelter where he was taken to the animal hospital and they immediately performed surgery! The little bugger did great! He had nasty tarter build up on all teeth, so he got a dental while he was under. Additionally, he had very overgrown nails which made it difficult for him to walk so he got a mani/pedi! He has to feel like a million bucks.  The surgeon said the mass was not connected to anything, he got clean margins and lymph nodes look great! So, this little guy is ready to roll and get the heck out of medical boarding. If you are interested in meeting Pugsy Malone, please go to labradorsandfriends.org to fill out an application. Pugsy is located in Southern California.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 16, 2026, 3:05 pm

Story
Meet Bugsy! This bug-eyed boy transferred to us from the San Diego Humane Society! Bugsy was found running at large in a San Diego dog park. He and a few other dogs had been dumped, with the SDHS Humane Law Enforcement team being alerted to the situation. Bugsy had bite wounds on his hind left leg that required sutures. He has since healed and his fur is beginning to grow back. Bugsy quickly shows that he is a chill and loving boy who loves to be picked up and held, and he enjoys hanging out with all of his new friends. He loves to play with his ball and enjoys walking around with his prized toys! This easy-going boy will make a seamless transition into any loving home. Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.

Story
We took Neo from another family in January and he is a very sweet dog with a great personality. Unfortunately we have a pool and he has a lot of anxiety whenever anyone is in the pool. He has fallen in a few times and can’t swim so unfortunately he is not a fit for our home. He loves hikes, walks and playing tug-o-war. He is great with kids.
