Story
Meet Pudge! From the streets of Mexico to condo life, this almost-one-year-old, 30 lb Puggle mix is living proof that rescue dogs have the best comeback stories. 💚 Pudge is a total ham who has quickly mastered indoor living. Here is why you’ll fall in love: House Trained & Routine Savvy: He has his potty routine down, walks like a champ on the leash, and sleeps soundly in his crate at night. Playful Yet Chilled: He loves a good game of fetch, but he’s just as happy lounging around while you work or relax. Dog Friendly: He loves the company of other dogs and enjoys social time. Pudge has done great meeting kids in passing, though he hasn't lived with them or cats yet. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, adaptable buddy to complete your family, Pudge is your guy!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Foster or forever home wanted, meet Gianna! Gianna is an irresistibly, adorable 4 month old pug that found herself at the San Jacinto shelter. Not sure if it was the cherry eye she has in her left eye that caused people to steer clear.  We know it's an easy fix so we weren't deterred at all. We'll get her eye all fixed up.  What's not to love about a 4 month old pug puppy?!?! She seems very sweet and ready to find a family to love her. Since she is new to the rescue, we don't know a lot about her. If you are interested in meeting Gianna, please fill out an application at labradorsandfriends.org. Gianna is located in Southern California. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 15, 2026, 1:27 am

Story
Meet Lilypad! This one-eyed beauty transferred to us from the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. She arrived at their shelter underweight, covered in fleas, and had delivered pups recently (milk still in teats). At our rescue, she has been nothing but a happy little girl who loves to nibble our fingers, hang out with her new group of friends, looks like the winking emoji with her tongue hanging out, and enjoys a good sploot on a cool surface! She is on our weight gain program so she can get back to a healthy weight. For now, she is absolutely loving the extra food and treats! Health considerations: Based on the level of healing of Lilypad's removed eye, our vet believes her eye removal surgery was done within the last year or so. Additionally, it weeps like a regular eye does (morning crusties) which indicates that she likely has a residual tear duct (partial or whole) that will continue to secret these tears. It is important to keep an eye on this eye socket for any fluid build-up, inflammation, or other changes. Though the tear duct should have been completely removed by the vet who removed her eye, complete tear duct removal is not necessary at this time as tear secretion looks normal and healthy. We are bathing her with prescribed medicated shampoo once weekly and keeping her facial folds clean as these were terribly neglected. Her skin is recovering quickly so she is shedding a lot as her body gets rid of her old coat. She will need to continue these once weekly baths until her skin is fully healed. As with all pugs, weekly facial fold maintenance is a must to prevent yeast and other bacterial growth from taking hold. She will need to continue her weight gain program until she is at a healthy weight. Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.
