Story
Walter was scared pup at the shelter so we sent him out to a wonderful foster home! He`s about 2 years old and has the biggest eyes. We think he`s a Pug x Beagle mix. He`s done well with other dogs including his foster brother who is an adorable 10 year old lab mix. At the shelter, he was too scared to walk on leash, but he`s working on his leash training in the foster home and is doing great so far-- he still needs a little treat bribery every now and then. He is 25 pounds of Puggle cuteness ready to find his forever home!Foster mom says one of his best qualities is that he`s super up for adventure, but also settles down for snuggles and pets! Please call our main line to set up an appointment to meet Walter.831-769-8850

Story
We adopted Momo in October 2024 from an Arizona shelter; estimated to be approx. year old at that time. We're hoping to find a home that will be able to give him the love and attention that pugs require. Since we adopted him, I've undergone a career change with a demanding schedule that also requires us to move a lot and my wife has just had our first child. As such, the logistics of transporting the dog in conjunction with the strained schedules and the new concern with how he will interact with the newborn has caused us to consider finding him a new home. More about Momo: energetic, very playful, licks a lot, sleeps a ton, and performs zoomies when he is excited; trained to let us know when he needs to go out. Barking is minimal compared with other toy breeds. He gets very "playful" excited (tail up and wagging) around cars, people, and pets. He has his rabies shot, though we refrained from other shots. We completely understand if his new owners requires further vaccinations.

Story
Looks like: Pug Male, 10 years old (estimated), 18 pounds Sweet Bowser is happiest when he's with his people. He would love a home where he can be your constant companion, whether that's lounging on the couch, following you from room to room, or soaking up all the affection you're willing to give. Bowser is incredibly gentle, super sweet, and endlessly cuddly. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even kitties. He would do great in a home with canine friends. Bowser joined us from Contra Costa Animal Services after he was picked up as a stray. Sadly, his guardians never returned to reclaim him, and due to the shelter being overfull and Bowser's senior status, he found his way to the POMDR pack.

Meet Esme, the pug terrier mix! Esme came to the Shelter after her previous guardians were unable to continue caring for her. Typical to puppies her age, Esme is still needing to learn life skills and manners to help her grow up into a good canine citizen. This can include leash walking, potty training, etc. Esme may do well in a home with other animals and/or children with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Esme is available for preadoption at this time – come in, fall in love and you can take her, home after her spay surgery! Now through February 15th, all adoption fees are reduced to $33 - come to the Shelter today to adopt your very own Valentine! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption.
