ADOPTION INFORMATION HOW TO GO ABOUT ADOPTING: 1. Come in during adoption hours to apply and fill out an application completely. We have applications on site. Open adoption hours take place at 44 Worthington Road in Cranston, RI. We are open every Wednesday 3-7pm and Saturday 10am-2pm. 2. We require proof of homeownership (tax form, deed, mortgage statement) or landlord approval (a copy of your lease that clearly states you are allowed to have a dog, puppy, cat, or kitten OR written and signed consent from your landlord. 3. We require copies of up to date vet records for any current pets. Helpful reminders: *We do not do same day adoptions. *Please bring the entire family in to meet the animal you are interested in. *We will setup a meet and greet with your dog at a later date. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! MacAurther After surviving his entire family being euthanized by animal control in his county and testing positive for heartworms he is very eager to find his forever humans.He is super fun and has the personality to match.He loves walks and loves giving kisses,And you can look at his handsome mug and see the love this little survivor has.He was left alive for a reason and that reason is obvious as soon as you meet him.He does like to play rough and really needs a big dog pal to equal his tenacity and energy.He listens like a semi stubborn bulldog but with no malice or ill intent, just goofy innocence.He is breed specific so I encourage anyone inquiring to research it a bit and understand the nature of his breed.
