Story
If grumpy gargoyle grandmas are your thing, then boy, do we have the dog for you. Lola is a 15-year-old mixed-breed beauty with a personality as big as her round belly. Lola has lost a good amount of weight with us - now weighing 22lbs - and should definitely stay on her diet for her joints. Since arriving, Lola has made so much progress. With some weight loss, laser therapy, and daily opportunities to explore and build strength, her mobility has improved significantly. Her back end will always be a bit unsteady, but she can now walk up and down a ramp and has far more good days than bad. We just started her on monthly Librela injections and the improvement has been incredible. That said, Lola's hind end is sensitive and likely has been for a long time. She does not like to be picked up and will tell you so the only way she knows how: by nipping. Thankfully, she's pretty independent. On the rare occasion we do need to lift her, we use a blanket to protect our hands and to ensure her whole body is supported so it does not cause her pain. Because of her physical sensitivity and communication style, we recommend an experienced home without children. Lola gets along well with other dogs who respect her space. She has a hard time with blind pups because she’s constantly on high alert trying to stop them from bumping into her sensitive legs. With the right match, she can live with other dogs. Just don't expect her to share snacks! Lola prefers to dine by herself and will guard her favorite thing (food) from other pets. Lola is spayed, up to date on vaccines, has had full bloodwork, and has been treated for a UTI and ear infections. She does have a grade 3 heart murmur but does not require medication at this time. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Burns (pawaffectionrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Nearly two-year-old Skippy is a silly, energetic boy who will do great with all people and older children.  He gets along very well with other dogs so a companion pup would make him very happy or an active family that will keep him busy.   When he is not playing with his toys or fellow foster pup, he is very content in cuddling on his foster dad’s lap. He will let you know when he needs to go out and do his business.  Leash training is a work in progress but he is smart and eager to please so with a little time and patience he should be an old pro in no time. He requires daily eye drops and has limited vision in his left eye. Story
Meet me at Tractor Supply from 10-11:45am 1253 Rte 311, Patterson NY 12563 I am from a litter of 11 pups nick named the “Tree Pups”. There is no way to know if we all have the same parents, but we came into the shelter together, we had a rough start but got so lucky that we ended up at a shelter where they found us rescues to take us and help find us forever homes. We are happy, loving, and eager to please. What we are is a true mystery and our breed(s) are a best guess by physical traits. How to meet dogs listed with “NY” : • If the dog is listed with an ‘Avail date” and a (location) – the dog cannot be met until the event and it is a first come, first served adoption event with the dogs being met in the order the potential adopters sign in. • If the dog is listed as being in a (foster home) please email us at info@pawsafe.org and we will set up an appointment for you to meet the dog(s) that interest you at their foster home(s). **** We are sorry, but we cannot adopt to Massachusetts residents. This is due to a Ma Dept. of Agriculture policy, not ours.

Story
Meet Roscoe Roscoe is an approximately 2-year-old pug who has endured far more than any dog should in his short life. He came to us nearly hairless, his skin raw and inflamed from prolonged neglect and outdoor exposure in his previous “home.” While most of his coat has grown back with time and care, the damage to his skin was significant, and some bald patches remain. His skin and ear health will always require ongoing attention.   Roscoe will need a committed adopter who understands that he may always be a bit of a work in progress. Managing his skin and preventing flare-ups will be a lifelong responsibility—regular baths, monitoring environmental triggers, maintaining any prescribed treatments, and being willing to adjust his routine as needed. Ear infections are a potential chronic issue for him as well, and will require vigilance and consistent care. New environments may bring new challenges, and it’s possible his care routine will need to be fine-tuned again once he’s settled in.   Despite all of this, Roscoe is an incredibly loving and resilient little guy. He’s gentle during bath time, wags his way through the day, and has never met a dog he didn’t like—big, small, and everything in between. He does well with confident, dog-savvy cats and has the most adorable little squishy pug face that will melt your heart.   Roscoe doesn’t need perfect—he just needs consistent. If you’re someone who’s experienced with chronic skin or ear issues, or willing to learn and commit, he’ll reward you with loyalty, snuggles, and a lifetime of love.   Roscoe is ready to find his person. Could it be you? Apply!   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2300716##

Story
"If I told you half the things I've heard about this Jabba the Hutt, you'd probably short-circuit!" ―C-3PO There is just so many great things to say about Jabba! This large boy came to us and it was clear why he has his name. This boy has some weight to drop! With proper diet and slow and steady walks, Jabba has been doing fantastic on his weight lost journey and is ready to find a home with a comfy bed to continue it. Jabba is a playful guy and loves to play with toys in the yard. His absolute favorite are toy balls that are just as big as him! It's an absolute joy for him to punt the ball around with his noggin! Jabba would do best in a home with kids 8+ as sometimes he can be a bit of bulldozer when he starts playing! If you are interested in applying for Jabba, please fill out an adoption application! The application can be found on our website: https://www.rispca.org/adoptable-dogs
