When Buster first arrived in rescue, he weighed a staggering 34 pounds—far more than his little body was meant to carry. Years of excess weight had taken a toll on him, making even simple activities difficult. Walking was a challenge, and his skin folds required constant care. Despite everything, Buster never lost his sweet spirit. Thanks to the unwavering love, dedication, and patience of his foster mom, Buster's life has been completely transformed. Through carefully measured meals, exercise, medical care, and endless encouragement, he has shed much of the weight that once held him back. Today, he's only a few pounds away from reaching his goal weight and is enjoying life in ways he never could before. Buster will need a daily thyroid pill for the rest of his life, as well as antifungal cream applied to the skin creases left behind from when he was so overweight. These simple routines help keep him healthy, comfortable, and thriving. What truly makes Buster special is his personality. He's a lovable, sweet-natured boy who adores people and enjoys being part of the family. After everything he's endured, he greets each day with happiness, gratitude, and a wagging tail. Bo and Gretchen need a home with an experienced pug parent where they can stay together. Both are very sweet and loving. Unfortunately, their mom is sick and can no longer care for them. They are located in SW Florida. Both babies are almost 2 years old. Bo does not care for men. Gretchen requires daily eye drops. Both are healthy other than daily eye drops for Gretchen. Thank you for choosing rescue! We are volunteers with other commitments in addition to rescue. Our time is very limited. Therefore, we request a $20.00 donation through paypal in order to process and expedite your application. This shows that you are truly interested in adoption. Your application will remain on file for a year. Applications are available at www.eastcoasthumanesociety.com under forms/application. Apply to Adopt Me! Who likes meatballs?!? Well, meet our resident 'meatball' Duck... or as we affectionately call him, Uncle Buck. And just like Uncle Buck, he's a chunky, jolly guy! Duck is a silly, goofy and lovable meatball that can sit and chill on the couch, or chill in his crate, which he loves.This approx. 10yo, 30lb. possible pug mix is housebroken, and loves his food and treats, and is always up for a walk. Duck loves every human he meets. He's met older children, but would be fine with respectable younger ones too. Duck is fine with chill dogs that don't 'crowd' him, and would probably be happiest with a doggy friend, but he doesn't require it. We are not sure about cats as he has not been around them. Duck is great in the car and won't argue if you want to take him for a Starbucks pup cup. This boy had a minor condition called "cherry eyes" which were repaired by our vet. He also underwent a dental with teeth extractions. Duck's foster mom says he is most chill, laid back and easiest dog that she has fostered. Duck will make a wonderful companion for someone and he can't wait to find a forever home of his own. Does does have anxiety and takes daily medication, he needs someone who is either retired or works from home and will be home with him most of the time. Gremlin is 3 months old. This one is hard to let go! He’s super fun. He has no idea how to shut down the party until he’s in his crate or snuggling in your arms. He’s just that guy that lights up every room! Gremlin is healthy happy and ready to find his forever person. He was part of a break in and all his siblings were stolen so owner just wanted him safe and to feel safe. gremlin hid under her recliner so he wasn’t a victim. I personally believe gremlin helped the burglar but that’s my perspective. Only Gremmy knows what really happened but he’s a blast to have around and oh so scrumptious !
