Story
Apply to Adopt Me! Who likes meatballs?!? Well, meet our resident 'meatball' Duck... or as we affectionately call him, Uncle Buck. And just like Uncle Buck, he's a chunky, jolly guy! Duck is a silly, goofy and lovable meatball that can sit and chill on the couch, or chill in his crate, which he loves. This approx. 10yo, 30lb. possible pug mix is housebroken, and loves his food and treats, and is always up for a walk. Duck loves every human he meets. He's met older children, but would be fine with respectable younger ones too. Duck is fine with chill dogs that don't 'crowd' him, and would probably be happiest with a doggy friend, but he doesn't require it. We are not sure about cats as he has not been around them. Duck is great in the car and won't argue if you want to take him for a Starbucks pup cup. This boy had a minor condition called "cherry eyes" which were repaired by our vet. He also underwent a dental with teeth extractions. Duck's foster mom says he is most chill, laid back and easiest dog that she has fostered. Duck will make a wonderful companion for someone and he can't wait to find a forever home of his own. Does does have anxiety and takes daily medication, he needs someone who is either retired or works from home and will be home with him most of the time. If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home awaiting Duck, complete an app and tell us more about you.  July 24, 2026, 12:45 pm

Story
Meet Buster Rhymes, a 6-year-old Puggle whose journey is nothing short of remarkable. When Buster first arrived in rescue, he weighed a staggering 34 pounds—far more than his little body was meant to carry. Years of excess weight had taken a toll on him, making even simple activities difficult. Walking was a challenge, and his skin folds required constant care. Despite everything, Buster never lost his sweet spirit. Thanks to the unwavering love, dedication, and patience of his foster mom, Buster's life has been completely transformed. Through carefully measured meals, exercise, medical care, and endless encouragement, he has shed much of the weight that once held him back. Today, he's only a few pounds away from reaching his goal weight and is enjoying life in ways he never could before. Buster will need a daily thyroid pill for the rest of his life, as well as antifungal cream applied to the skin creases left behind from when he was so overweight. These simple routines help keep him healthy, comfortable, and thriving. What truly makes Buster special is his personality. He's a lovable, sweet-natured boy who adores people and enjoys being part of the family. After everything he's endured, he greets each day with happiness, gratitude, and a wagging tail. His resilience is inspiring, and his capacity for love is endless. Buster has worked so hard for his second chance. Now he's searching for a forever home where he can continue his journey, be cherished for the amazing dog he is, and spend the rest of his life surrounded by love. Could you be the happy ending Buster Rhymes has been waiting for? PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $300 and you can adopt me at www.polkadogz.org. ##2760362##

Story
***Bonded – Lily and Rita are bonded and must be adopted together.*** Meet Lily and Rita! Hi, we're Lily and Rita. We're just two tiny girls trying to make our way in the big, wide world and find the family who will love us forever. Rita– I’m an 8-lb Pug-Chihuahua blend and I'm 1 year young.  I'm a cuddly, clever, and kissy girl who loves being near my person, learning new tricks, and hanging out with best friend Lily!  Lily – I’m a 1-year-old Jack Russell blend who weighs just 6 lb. I am a gentle, shy, snuggly, and smart girl who wants nothing more than to be loved by my humans and to stay close by the side of my best friend, Rita. Favorite Things: Both girls love to be held by their humans, which is easy since they are so tiny. Lilly even loves to sleep in her dog bed on the human bed! 24/7, they love to snuggle and cuddle right up to their human!  Training & Manners: Both Lily and Rita are smart cookies who are eager to learn and who are housetrained if let out frequently and have even picked up a few tricks. Rita will even sit for treats now! They both walk well on a leash and are well-behaved little passengers on car rides.  Health & Care: This healthy pair are up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. They just need their monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. These low-maintenance gals won't even require much elaborate grooming.  Other Animals: Lily and Rita both do well with other calm dogs of all shapes and sizes. They haven't been observed around cats yet, but her foster thinks she'd get along with them, too.  Children: These two sweethearts have not been observed around children yet.  Ideal Home: Equally at home downtown or down on the farm, these two would do well in an apartment, condo, or single-family home. Overall: Lily's and Rita's foster thinks they'd be a great blessing for any family with a heart big enough to take them both. If you’re looking for some cuddly cuties who make wonderful companions, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, their foster family will reach out with more information. The adoption donation for the pair is $750. ##2726957##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Peggy, or as we lovingly call her, Peggylicious!  Peggy is a resilient little girl with a heart full of love and a personality that’s impossible to resist. She’s the perfect mix of calm, sweet, and just a little bit feisty to keep you smiling. Peggy is a low-energy pup who loves nothing more than cuddling up next to her people and taking long, cozy naps. She’s happiest when she’s close to you, soaking up affection and enjoying the simple things in life. If there’s one thing Peggy is passionate about, it’s food! She eats every meal like it’s the best one she’s ever had, and watching her excitement is guaranteed to make you laugh. She’s discovering how much fun it is to be a dog. Peggy is learning to play with toys and loves spending time with her big foster sisters. Every day she grows a little more confident and lets her playful side shine. Peggy also enjoys going for walks and has wonderful leash manners, making her a great walking companion. She’s currently working on potty training. While she’s not quite there yet, she’s incredibly smart and eager to learn, so we’re confident she’ll have it mastered in no time with a little patience and consistency. Peggy has already overcome so much, and now she’s ready for the next chapter of her life with a family who will love her as much as she deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key companion who loves cuddles, naps, good food, and has just the right amount of sass, Peggylicious might just be your perfect match. The adoption donation is $250 and will include neuter, microchip and age appropriate vaccines.
